The castle is under construction so you cannot go inside. Much of the garden area was blocked off as well. The “palace” was open, take your shoes off, but not much to see inside except for the dramatic wall murals.

A nice place to visit. The Hommarugoten had many beautiful drawings and artwork. It provided information about the life of Japanese shogun.

A must visit when going to Nagoya Castle, excellent examples of culture in the past and very well preserved. Ancient Japan at its best

While you can still see part of the castle (as specified in the Trip Advisor listing title) the whole thing was very underwhelming/disappointing as a result of the main castle's closure.

Some of the most beautiful artworks I have ever seen! Line was long but it was because of staff organising people to take their shoes of, lead them to a locker place and providing brochures. So it was all for the preservation and maintenance of...More

A few years ago I had the chance to see this and was stunned by the beauty of the craftsmanship that went into this restoration. It really gives Nagoya castle a run for it's money. The elaborate paintings and details in every little thing were...More
