No credit cards were accepted at the Centrair Airport stattion and only one elevator at Nagoya station
Nov 2019
I was surprised that I could not use a credit card to purchase a train ticket at the booth in the Centrair airport station. Fortunately I had cash. However, it was very inconvenient if we cannot use a credit card when I use a ticket booth. Since this airport has many international flights, they should accept credit cards at any location in the airport station. Train service itself is outstanding. Clean and convenient, although another problem was that there was only one elevator at one station. In particular, it is problematic that they have only one elevator far from main JR station at Nagoya station. I carried a heavy big baggage and had a hard time to go from metro to Nagoya railroad station.

Confusing
Nov 2018 • Family
The main JR station in Nagoya is very confusing and not tourist-friendly. Signage not clear and if you are transitioning from one train to another or to the metro, good luck!

Multiple railways, co-located
Apr 2018 • Solo
It is easy to be confused at the main Nagoya station when you see multiple companies' stations all mixed up together. There is JR West which has both Shinkansen and regular services (effectively two separate stations), Kintetsu, which runs railways to the North West reaching Nara, Kyoto and Osaka, the Meitetsu, and the subways. All seem to converge here and all have their own ticket machines, network maps and pricing. Just remember the "English" button on the machines.

Nagoya Meitetsu Railroad
Apr 2018 • Friends
One of the important transportation structures in Nagoya and Gifu regions is the Nagoya Railroad or Meitetsu.
Services are local, express, rapid and limited express.
Economical and efficient operations. A convenient way of getting around places in Nagoya.
We took this train from Nagoya to Inuyama.
The company offers cheap one day railway passes as well.

THE Most Important Infrastructure in Nagoya, Toyota and Gifu
Feb 2017 • Family
The system surely trumps the Nagoya city subway, with the exception of Sakae, which is not directly accessible by this company's main system. And it connects Inuyama (Castle), a (more remote) tourist town with the airport directly, some feat not achieved by many powerful private railway companies in Tokyo or Osaka.

One small drawback though: It's the very first Japanese railway that made me experience a system-wide delay (albeit small).

AKA Meitetsu
Feb 2017 • Couples
Nagoya Railroad is know as Meitetsu. It is the train to/from the airport and some key destinations such as Toyota Commemorative Museum. Be aware that Nagoya station building is detached from JR Nagoya station.

Useful,fast and cheap
Sep 2016 • Solo
Known as "Meitetsu" Nagoya Railroad is very useful railway company in Aichi Prefecture. Usually this railway is cheaper than JR,and the express is faster than JR.
