- TaraOlivehurst, California37 contributionsThree times and each time was a blast! My youngest daughter wanted to return here after having such an awesome time the last two times we went for her sixth birthday. After seeing her birthday sticker (available at the entrance and concessions in the park) the staff would tell her happy birthday and clap for her. She loved it! The lines are minimal during the week so I would recommend that if you prefer low crowds. Even when it is crowding, its not as crowding as other hot spots like Disneyland. My daughter's favorite thing to ride is the boat ride in the pirate section. Super fun! My oldest who is nine loved this place as well. Sad that it isn't larger with more rides that are open throughout the entire time the park is open (some rides didn't open until 12 or 1300 even though the park opened at ten). Longer hours of operation might also be helpful!Dear TaraCTravels, Thank you for the great review! We're happy to hear that you enjoyed your visit and that the kids loved it too. It is awesome to hear that the line waits were not too long, and that you were able to enjoy your visit with us. We hope you can come and see us again and we could celebrate your kids' birthday again here!Written January 14, 2020This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited January 2020Traveled with familyWritten January 11, 2020

- SeanofNagoyaNagoya, Japan8 contributionsGood if you go on a slow dayI went with my 3 year old son who loves Lego (Duplo). I would recommend a visit during a weekday when it is not crowded (which was our experience). I would on the other hand highly recommend avoiding it on busy days. My 3 star rating is kind of based on an average of these two - its a good place to go on a weekday and a bad one to go on the weekend. I'll hit the positive and negative points here. Positives: The staff were extremely helpful and very kind throughout our visit. The rides are nice, there are enough for a 3 year old to have fun. Might not be very enjoyable for teenagers, but for young kids its good. The Lego displays throughout the park are quite fun to look at and create endless photo opportunities. The big diorama is particularly impressive. If you go on a weekday or off season it is quite empty and you don't have to do much waiting in line. We went on a weekday and felt like we almost had the place to ourselves, the waiting times at rides were minimal. This makes up for the small size of the park (see below) and is why I would recommend a visit on a slow day. Negatives The park is small, you could walk from end to end just a few minutes. If you have the place to yourself on a slow day its not a problem as there is enough to keep you occupied. If you go on a busy day though, I can only imagine how overcrowded and unpleasant it will be. A good theme park will give you the impression when you leave that you only scratched the surface of all the great stuff that is there and leave you wanting to go back and explore it further. Legoland Japan gives you no such feeling - you leave knowing that you have seen everything there is to see and feel no reason to go back. It was definitely a "one and done" deal for us and despite living in Nagoya have no interest in getting the annual pass. The park is in one of the bleakest, most unpleasant locations imaginable. The train ride out there takes you through some of the ugliest industrial blight Nagoya has to offer (and that is saying something). Its nothing but smoke stacks, scrap yards and industrial haze for as far as the eye can see. Legoland is surrounded by this. I have no idea why they located it there (probably ease of access by rail) but since the trip there is part of the package, this is worth mentioning (once you are in the park most of the smokestacks are obscured by buildings, but you do have some ""borrowed scenery"" noticeable here and there). This also seems to really limit their ability to expand since there doesn't seem to be much vacant land adjacent to the park. The price, given the size, is extremely high. I would have to say it is the worst value attraction in Nagoya for that reason. A trip to the Zoo will cost you 500 Yen to get in (free for kids) and has way more to offer. Legoland has tried to respond to this criticism with a complex pricing system that requires advance registration of specified numbers of guests. This is really cumbersome and not particularly friendly to the customer. Why not just keep it simple and lower the prices across the board instead of making your customers jump through seemingly arbitrary hoops to get a small discount? Since I wasn't able to book in advance or fit my son and I into one of their "family passes" that require 3 or more people I paid full price. This was annoying. A minor point but the first thing that greets you once you've paid the exorbitant amount for the tickets is someone who searches your bags to make sure you aren't bringing in outside food or drink. Is aggravating your customers the second they walk through the gate really worth the minor boost in sales at your food stands that this creates? Maybe it is, but its worth mentioning because it just adds an unpleasant interaction right at the start of everyone''s experience at your park. So, all in all, if you are in Nagoya with small children on a weekday, have already exhausted all the other things to do in town and have a big pile of cash that you don't want, then I would highly recommend a trip to Legoland Japan.Thank you for coming to visit us and leaving your honest review. Your feedback will be shared with our management teams and we look forward to using this to improve our guest experience. We are looking forward to welcoming you again in the near future.Written April 19, 2018This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited October 2017Traveled with familyWritten March 12, 2018
- JapanTessJapan686 contributionsA wonderful timeA wonderful time for children and adults alike. Went on a Friday and Saturday. It got a little busier in the afternoon, and it was busier on Saturday, but never too many people and was able to get on most rides with either no wait or within around 5 minutes. The only exceptions were the boat ride in the Lego City section, which took 10-15 minutes, and the submarine on Saturday which took around 10 minutes. How busy the park is likely depends on the time of year, however. There is so much to see and do inside the park, many statues made of Lego and little details here and there. I am sure I didn't see everything, despite 2 days spent in the park. Had a great time on all the rides, especially the submarine and dragon rollercoaster. Miniland is very interesting, and again has lots of little details, many humorous, that awards those who spend the time to stop and look at everything. In the park, there was a fun and exciting atmosphere the entire time. Each area has its own look and background music, which makes each area distinct. Lego City is especially impressive. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Although everyone has masks on, you could tell they were smiling. I have seen complaints about the prices in the park, but I found most things to be either reasonable considering the setting (and no more expensive than at a normal café/restaurant outside the park (but not as cheap as a family restaurant)), or even cheaper than I expected (at least some Lego sets in the Big Shop were cheaper than I have seen elsewhere). Vending machines are priced a little higher than normal, but you are allowed to take a bottle in with you, so I recommend bringing your own and then using a vending machine if needed. Go to Legoland expecting to spend money, and you'll not be disappointed. The only thing that I believe is overpriced are the carnival games. They are too difficult for small children, and the prizes didn't look like anything special, so for 500yen it is, in my opinion, a waste of money. One small complaint is related to not being allowed to bring in carts or large bags/cases. I understand it, and complied by keeping my case at the hotel or in a locker by the park entrance. Upon entering the park with a case which I planned to put into a locker straight away, I was told at least 5 times by different staff members - all around the entrance who could probably have seen each other - that I couldn't go around with a case. That's fine. So, it was a little annoying to see people in the park with carts and cases. If Legoland reads this, please do a little more to enforce your rules inside the park, not just at the entrance. So as not to end on a negative note, I'll repeat that Legoland is a wonderful place, with a lot of fun to be had. Go there prepared to spend money. Two days was not long enough to see and do everything.Dear KlapauciusJapan, Thank you for visiting LEGOLAND® Japan Resort. We also appreciate your warm comments on TripAdvisor. We are very happy to hear that you had a good time and enjoyed different atmosphere in each area. Did you notice Miniland is made of more than 10 million LEGO bricks? The view from the window changes when you sit on the right or the left side, so if you visit again, be sure to experience it from a different seat! Regarding the carts and cases, carts for the purpose of carrying luggage are not allowed to take in the park. - Damien H17 contributionsGreat for elementary school kidsWent on a normal school day with ten year old kid, was pretty quiet and only had to wait about five minutes for rides. Younger kids younger than eight or shorter than 130 cm had to wait up to 30 minutes for the attractions. For kids over 130 cm there are many attractions they can enjoy. Enough restaurants but still on a relatively quiet day had to stand in line for 20 minutes to purchase food. Food prices also quite expensive but there is a free drinks bar.Hello Damien H, Thank you for sharing your experience with us and 5star rating ! The cost to enter the park is way overpriced. They are charging close to Disneyland prices for a park that is extremely small with a very limited number of rides geared towards very young children. On top of that, adults pay a much higher fee to enter the park, why so if this is mainly for kids, what exactly are the adults getting out of it? To be clear my kids, 3 and 5 years old, were underwhelmed as well. If I had to compare, Nagashima Spa Land offers so much more for both adults and young children at a mere fraction of what Legoland is charging. This is my second time visiting a Legoland park; the first time was in Malaysia. We had decided to give Legoland a second chance because we thought it was a country specific issue but I was WRONG. Its actually a Legoland issue. Please avoid.

Overall : With prices similar to USJ and Tokyo Disneyland, Legoland Japan only offers kids entertainment with second rate hospitality and efficiency. You would be asking for your money back if you visited expecting something similar to USF or Disney.
Entrance Fee : Similar to USJ and Disney, but some offers do exist. 50% off discount existed until June if you came with someone who had an annual passport. One-day pass can be upgraded for annual pass. But they only tell you at the end that a discounted ticket holder has to additionally pay the discounted part to upgrade (and pay full price in the end) so you feel you got ripped off by getting the upgrade.
Rides : Only good for Kindergarten or up to 2nd Grade. The Dragon rollercoaster is the only ride that could keep a teenager interested. Everything else is extremely short and unsatisfactory. Only makes you realize how much money and effort are put into each rides in USJ or Disney. In the weekends, you'd be waiting 30 mins to an hour depending on the ride, but in most cases you will be mad that the experience was never worth waiting in that long line. Understaffing makes the throughput of each ride extremely inefficient. Bottleneck is evident in each ride and the wait is that much worse since the faults are easily detectable.
Food : Extremely overpriced and short in supply. Hate to think how it will be like when it gets hot in the summer. Just buying water from a vending machine or a food stand will be difficult since there is so few of them. Just heard they started allowing water bottles (for kids) at the entrance. Security check is so lenient, it is just a waste of time just to do it. Let the people get in faster if it is going to be ineffective.
Opening Hours : It closed at 6pm when we visited (a Sunday in June). It closes at 5pm on weekdays. But wait, it is actually CLOSED on Tuesdays AND Wednesdays. Why? I guess Legoland wants kids to be home and be in bed early. Whats an annual pass when it is closed 2 days of the week?
Best time to visit : Any weekday that is open. In a day, you can experience all rides and even ride on your favorite on multiple times. Kids will have fun, but for the parents it will be torture to experience less than interesting rides and just stand and do nothing during the wait times.
Fast pass : None unless you purchase a tour package from a tourist office. So again, there is no escaping the inefficiencies of the under-staffment.
When does it become worthwhile : Only if you buy the annual pass and you live close enough to visit it on a weekday after school for 3 hours or so at least 6 times a year. And do it before your child turns 8.
Access : Quite a walk from the station. Better to park our car (on the 3rd floor, as close to section A1 as possible. But if you want to avoid the 15 mins queue of the parking ticket machine, park a little further away from the entrance and use the pay machine at the other end of the parking lot that nobody knows exist.
Anyone remember Italian Town that existed close to the Nagoya Aquarium? The shops next to Legoland reminds me of that so much. Let's hope it doesn't turn into a ghost town like that gimmick Italian Town.

We visited Legoland Japan last Thursday. It was a fun day despite our kids being older at 11 & 13. We joined the kids on some of the attractions including the Cat Cloud Busters (where we challenged our kids to pull ourselves up the rope and see who reached the top first), Dragon’s Apprentice (roller coaster), Submarine Adventure (we literally got into a submarine which dived into the water and passed through a passageway where we got to see interesting sea creatures), the Lost Kingdom (where we challenged our kids to shooting skills) and the Rescue Academy (where we split ourselves into teams and made our way to a burning building to put out the fire).
The Miniland also showcases the various Cities in Japan and these were built using LEGO Bricks. The cities include Nagoya, Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto. The details that went into building these made them look really beautiful.
There were a few rides which were closed that day so we were a little disappointed. There was also no halal food served in any of the restaurants and we had nothing to eat the entire day apart from the Lego potatoes and hot cocoa. We hope that Legoland Japan would consider serving some halal menus and also provide a praying room for its visitors. We wish Legoland Japan the very best.
Regards, Shikin

Is it easy to get a taxi from the train station going to Legoland? We are arriving around 10pm from Tokyo and would rather not walk to the park from the train station.

Do they generally speak English in Legoland Nagoya?

Most Japanese speaks very little English, they always speaks to you in Japanese as if you can understand them. In Legoland Nagoya, we didn't have to ask questions or directions so it was fine. To order food, you can just point to pictures.

Hi, how can I get help in English with my tickets? I haven't received / can't locate the booking email and need it re-sent. The Call Centre is only in Japanese!!
Hi, I am going to Legoland from Centair International airport (nagoya international airport). Does anyone know if the bus from airport to Legoland allows checkin luggages?

I think so.
That bus doesn't stop right outside Legoland but near the pier about 1/2 km from Legoland.
That's the same bus taking people to the Outlet Park in Mie Prefecture.

Do you have to purchase a ticket to buy something from the big store? I just want to buy gift sets to take back home.
