Very Cool Building
Feb 2020
I walk by the Spiral Tower almost daily when I am in Nagoya and am drawn to the Starbucks there. Not because the Starbucks is anything beyond your run of the mill Starbucks, but the building is such an interesting piece of architecture I enjoy sipping coffee and staring at it. I only wish it were a residential building, so I could get a flat in it.

Architecturally unique building in Nagoya!
Jul 2019
Impressive as the twin JR Towers atop Nagoya JR Station are, when you exit the Towers at the 2nd Floor level on the Sakuradori Subway Line side to view the modern Nagoya City Centre, there is an even more impressive structure just further along the street. The Mode Gakuen Spiral Towers is a unique building which houses the 'Mode Gakuen College of Fashion & Design'. Always inquisitive, I looked up their Japanese website and discovered that Mode Gakuen, "... is Japan's largest specialised Training College having schools in front of each terminal station in Tokyo Shinjuku, Osaka and Nagoya." Believe me when I say that, from their website the buildings in Tokyo and Osaka are similarly architecturally unique as this in Nagoya.
Although not open to the general public, the building can be viewed for free from a distance. My only regret is that time precluded a closer look or viewing the building at night.

Accidental find
Jan 2020
Accidentally stumbled on this when navigating around Nagoya after taking the train. Didn't go up close but even from a distance, it is impressive as it is. But only if you are nearby.

Twisted building
Nov 2019 • Couples
This 36 story building is home to 3 vocational schools- Nagoya Mode Gakuen, HAL Nagoya and Nagoya Isen. Passersby are impressed by the spiral architectural structure. It is really a most recognizable twisted landmark in Nagoya.

Nice trendy tower but not open on Saturday
Apr 2019 • Couples
This building is pretty on the outside and worth taking photos when heading there. However, when we arrived on a Saturday, it was not open. No worries, we just wanted to take a nice shot of this building and we were satisfied.

Architecture marvel
Apr 2019 • Couples
Came to see this blue colour spiral building opposite JR station. There isn’t much shopping and dining inside but it’s a good place to enjoy this on the roof garden of Meitetsu building. There’s Starbucks coffee there where you can absorb in the beautiful building that blends into the surround building. A true at architecture marvel. To me, this is another icon of Nagoya.

Trendy funky building
Oct 2018 • Couples
You'd walk past this building always if you use the Meitetsu buses or train. It's interesting and it doesn't cost you anything to go there.

Majestic building
Sep 2018 • Couples
Seeing the Spiral Tower fascinated me. The architect in Japan is superb from the older historic buildings to the modern designs. The Spiral Tower was not only a landmark for our travel in and around the city, but it also provided a pleasant stop.

Spiral building @ Nagoya
Apr 2018 • Friends
Mode Gakuen or the spiral tower is am unique landmark in Nagoya and is an educational facility. It is 170 metres in height and has 3 vocational schools.
There is another building - the Mode Gakuen cocoon tower in Shinjuku, Tokyo.

The building is 36 storied and is one of the tallest structures on Nagoya. Located close to JR Nagoya station complex.
