- Simona D255 contributionswindDon’t visit on a windy day. It might be very nice on a sunny & hot day but when we visited we left 30 minutes later. Being used to pay for a beach club I expected a nicer environment, equipment. Here, they are selling the cheapest plastic sun beds, the swimming pools with very cold water and poor menu.Visited March 2022Written March 30, 2022
- BloomabonyegBerlin, Germany68 contributionsreally good beach with amazing coralIt is amazing that the corals are just few meters away from the coast and you can watch the incredible aquatic life just by snorkelling above them. The ticket to the beach includes a sun bed, parasol and a towel. You can rent snorkelling gear on the beach, there is also a bar with pretty good beach food, though a bit pricey. It is worth the 15 minutes ride from the city and the price of the entry.Visited November 2022Written January 2, 2023
- Christeen64Geneva, Switzerland393 contributionsGet an almost peaceful day on the beachIt’s a great way to escape the hassle of Aqaba and relax by the Red Sea. Take the bus in downtown Aqaba for 10 JOD (both ways and entry to berenice beach, sun-beds and towel) for the day. Bus is quiet old but does the job. Have no Scenery expectations on the road to that area as you drive by the port and sand work. On site changing rooms, bring a lock if you want to use the locker facility. Today kids pool was closed and empty. Sun beds are a bit old and if you come later they may be taken. Access to the sea is tricky from the beach unless you have solid plastic shoes. You can access from the pontoon, may be more comfy. There is a quieter side on the beach but the music and noise from animation can still be heard so bring your headphones if you prefer your music. Drinks and food available, you need a charged card (after entry - minimum 10 JOD but you can have unused fund returned to you on the same day only). A few diving boats and glass bottom boat always clicking on scenes.... free WiFi available but not everywhere and slow.Visited March 2020Traveled soloWritten March 9, 2020
- Ožbi4 contributionsNICE BEACH, BAD VIBE vol. 1We arrived at our hotel in Aqaba and as they tols us there, this is the best and one of 2 beaches for tourists (both are about 10km out of Aqaba). It is overrated AF. It costs you 13JD per person, bus leaves at 11:00 and bus back to Aqaba leaves only at 19:30 (friday & saturday at 18:30 too). So or you wait till the end or you can get a taxi for 10JD. When you arrive they take all your food and drinks (except water) if you have some with you, but they give you a towel. With taking your food, they kinda force you to buy it inside, and ofcourse it' s not cheap. But you get a 3JD voucher for it.Visited September 2021Traveled as a coupleWritten September 21, 2021
- Dario FPisa, Italy2 contributionsWorst new year's eve organization everWe were coming there with an organized tour to celebrate the new year but nobody else came. Despite the owner said that 60 people were arriving, nobody but us were there. And that's not even the worst part of the night. The owners treat us like idiots, giving us menus with a certain price and pretending us to pay using another menu with higher prices. The party should be until 1 am but at 0.40 the deejay stopped the music saying nothing but "the party is over, the bus is waiting for you outside, goodnight". Worst organization ever, i would give 0 if I only could.Visited December 2022Traveled with friendsWritten January 4, 2023

- jafarelliBogota, Colombia135 contributionsNice option for the South BeachBerenice was recommended (entrance is 10JD) by the Hotel where we have been staying. It is a decent place to spend a day. Facilities are Ok with few swimming pools, changing rooms, small shop, food and bar. Beach area has plenty of shades and beds. What was surprising is the sea itself. Just a few meters into the water you find colorful marine life, so snorkeling becomes automatically an activity. Morning hours was much calmer, as from noon onward a lot of families with kids are present. This place is very much tourist friendly. I only regret to find some plastic bags in the sea. People shpuld be aware of the pollution and refrain using plastics.Visited June 2018Traveled as a coupleWritten June 18, 2018
- alistair harley4 contributionsWhat a jokeThe resort was nice and we had not problems with that, however the beach consisted of gravel, glass and fag butts. Also 75% of the coral was bleached and there were plastic bags and cups in the sea and seabed. Limited fish, disappointed with the lonely planet book as it described it as something it just wasn't. Looks like they must of been bribed to write what they wrote.Visited September 2017Traveled as a coupleWritten September 25, 2017

There are a private beach and 2 swimming pools.
It's a good place to go in bikini because there are a lot of European people.
Wifi, music, towel included.

Aqaba itself is a busy town with great local food at good prices (3-5JD for a full meal including salad, soup, sauces, rice and meat). Beaches leave a lot to be desired - they're dirty, usually pretty empty, and come with the background noise of construction or busy roads. Saying that, Berenice Beach is probably one of the best beaches to go. It's clean, although female European solo travellers beware, particularly if you are blonde haired and blue eyed. This is a Muslim country and ladies in bikinis will attract attention.
Out of respect and to avoid further unwanted attention, it's best to dress modest, although I found I was not expected to cover my hair (Christianity is Jordan's second popular religion).
In most cases though, local bar owners and beach service providers (snorkelling, diving etc), are very happy to see tourists and will go out of their way to give you great service, and sometimes free offers to say thank you.

I think its 13 JOD including transport by minibus from your hotel - I bought it at my hotel - not sure about kids rates. Good value in my opinion but food and drinks/booze are a bit pricey when youre inside. It is much nicer and less crowded than Aqaba Town beach.

Buonasera,
Grazie
Marco

Kan er gedoken worden met een gids? Ik heb een PADI-brevet. En wat is de prijs voor 1 duik?
Greeting! Do I need a reservation if I want to spend a day in Berenice beach club? How about if we are a group of 6 adults and 2 kids (both 6years old)?

I would err on the side of caution and reserve just in case but there is plenty of space, tables and loungers by the pool and loungers on the beach and it's easy to get to if you have your own transport
