About
Come join us for an active bicycle tour around the Livingstone area, a chance to journey along the picturesque Zambezi river, visit local villages and markets, and interact with locals. We stop along the way to discuss the local cultures and landscapes. These tours directly support a community school school and we finish the tour by visiting this school and meeting some of the children.

While the Corona Virus was troubling the world, we had an Excellent experience at Livingstone. If you want to experience discovery and adventure in Africa, this should be either on foot or by bike. We participated in 2 tours. In the first one, we visited Victoria Waterfall, the pearl of the world. With the entrance we made by passing by baboons, we were exposed to the rain formed by the cool waters of Victoria Falls.
On the second day, we visited 3 villages with local tribes. The interaction with the children was excellent. The little gifts we bought them made us win their hearts.
Local Cowboy Cycle Tours official Oliver, our guides Patson and Boyd, provided a very professional service, giving us all these experiences.
See you again.

Bike touring Livingston was one of the highlights of our 3-week trip to Africa. The guides were great, super friendly and informative. While most of our trip was in high-end lodges and safaris, we learned more about modern African life on this wonderful day. The guides took us thru the city, showing us the markets where locals shop, met cute kids practicing their few english words, and the school that is supported thru their efforts. Great experience that we will always remember, and highly recommend.

We had a brilliant morning with Oliver and Joe. We cycled through villages and witnessed Zambian life going on, building new house, shopping in the market, children playing and visiting the school Oliver supports.
We felt really safe and well looked after and heard really interesting facts about Zambia and how it has coped with the changing world due to covid.
I would urge you to go on the tour if you are in Livingston, as you get an authentic experience and everyone is pleased to see you

I highly recommend this tour to everyone who wants to better understand how people in Zambia live, their culture, their history and their everyday challenges. The tour was just amazing, I learned so much and the bike is a great way to see the villages near Livingstone. Some of the tour-generated money goes to the local cowboy's school established by the tour organiser and his brother Oliver. They did an impressive job providing access to education for kids who didn't have access before.

A true highlight for us. We arrived in Livingston a couple of days before our big 12-day safari tour was to begin. We were looking for a different kind of experience than we would be getting over the next two weeks with our tour (Tauck Tours). This Cowboy bike tour was the right choice! Large tourist numbers have not yet returned, so Oliver and his nephew David had flexibility and allowed us to customize our bike tour by taking elements from two of their usual tours. The two normal tour choices are four hours each... our tour ended up being nearly seven hours!!!! In short, as the other reviews mention, these tours take you where the tour buses can not go! We rode through housing areas and will never forget how adults and kids waved and smiled at us. Your heart will be touched. Oliver and David were conversational and seemed glad business is finally returning. We are a family of four and in reasonably "decent" shape, but still, by the end, we were exhausted!!!!!!! Remember, our day was longer than the normal. An average person should have no difficulty with the "normal" bike tour. Our experience was tiring but exceptional. Looking back, I feel guilty that they charged us so little. I wish we had given an even bigger tip. By all means, this is should be on everyone's "must do" list.

My family and I booked a bicycle tour after a recommendation from a coworker. I am very glad we did! We had an amazing time seeing the Zambezi River, the baobab tree, going across the Victoria Falls bridge, and areas off the beaten path. Our guide, David, was very knowledgeable and set a good pace for us all to stay together. It was a great way to experience the city as you are moving slow enough to get a good look at things but are also able to get to new places quickly. Not only was the tour fantastic but the proceeds support a local school. It's a win all round! I highly recommend the tour to

We had an incredible time on this bicycle tour and it was a great way to get off the beaten path and see Livingstone. We especially enjoyed the ride to the magnificent baobab tree and the stunning lookout. The views of the gorge and river from above were breathtaking, and crossing the bridge added an extra thrill. David, our guide, was exceptionally knowledgeable and engaging, making the experience both informative and fun. We highly recommend this tour for anyone seeking adventure and spectacular scenery!

I booked the Cultural and the Nature tour and both were absolutely amazing. I highly recommend biking as a way to see the real Livingstone. During the Cultural tour, you will visit villages, get to see and interact with people going about their everyday activities, visit a local market and a local school supported by the company. The tour lasted more than 4 hours, and it wasn`t at all tiring. Oliver is an amazing guide. Friendly, fun, informative, and ready to answer all my questions. I learned a lot about the culture, tradition, and everyday life in Livingstone.
During the Nature tour, we cycled to the gorge and visited the Falls. Oliver made stops along the way and shared tons of information about plants and wildlife. During the visit to the Falls, I didn`t feel at all rushed and could take my time at all the view points. These tours are definitely one of the highlights of my trip to Zambia.

Oliver & Co. delivered a really enlightening experience for the 4 of us. We feel like we learned quite a bit about Livingston and its surrounding communities in a short period of time.
Well worth it!

Likely, if you are in Livingston, you don't want to miss this!
David (or someone from his team) takes you to see real Livingstone, unknown to visitors, and known only to locals. That's the real value.
And on the top of that, you support their local school.
You also want to find time to volunteer in that same school, anything you know and can show to children is of great value for them.
So please contact Oliver or David, and enjoy full day with them, real experience. Zikomo ("thank you" in Nyanja language).

Hi. Do they have an e mail address please? Visiting in September with my wife.
Thanks Paul

I don't believe so, but best way to reach them would be by calling their cell number by skype (if you are out of country), but they are really flexible so I wouldn't worry too much about reaching them beforehand. You can call them when you get in country and they will be able to work something out for you during your stay.
