What a treat! It is not cheap but we had the best night on this steam engine drawn luxury train. I am told it is identical to the Orient Express. We had invited our safari FishEagleBestGroupEver to drinks and dinner but not to be. We discovered the steam engine dinner train was only available Saturday night and Wednesday night. So... More

Spent a great evening on the Royal Livingstone Express, but the experience is for the tourist and I think overpriced! We enjoyed the drinks on arrival and throughout. Good wine and an excellent 5 course meal with vegetarians well catered for. Alighted on the bridge at Zam/Zim boarder. Not a great view of the Falls at this time of the... More

Great experience good food and drink included.well looked after by staff but plenty of mossies! Dinner trip was a good time to go as it was cooler on the bridge to walk around for pictures and to get the usual hawkers trying their luck.

We boarded the train for an enjoyable ride through the national park. We had drinks and then dinner on the train. We saw lots of wild animals along the journey. The only down side would be that it did go through some poor areas of town so you were able to see the living conditions. Children ran out to wave... More

Unique experience enjoying a five course dinner onboard the steam train which stops at the Victoria Falls Bridge at sunset. Visit in March if you want to see the falls at their best. A local Peter Jones provides an entertaining short history of the area, train and people. Begins and ends at Livingstone. Worthwhile experience but overpriced at $US175 per... More

Everything about this experience was fabulous. Friendly staff welcomed us aboard the old vintage steam train with drinks. Getting off on the bridge gave is spectacular views. Be prepared to be harassed by the local peddlers trying to sell all sorts of souvenirs. The dinner was very tasty, well presented in a great setting. Highly recommended.

One waitress in particular was so unfriendly. She would ignore some of our group when they asked for water and even gave one person who asked for some wine a glass of 'wine' that was at least three quarters water. When we mentioned it to another waitress to ask for some actual wine she wasn't surprised at all suggesting this... More

If you like the old world experience on a steam train you will adore this trip from Livingston to Zimbabwe & back to Livingston. Absolutely relaxing experience with the most amazing food from Chef John at the Royal Livingston Hotel as well as amazing wines. Vegetarians are well and truly catered for and not the usual pasta dishes - my... More

A delightful way to spend an evening with friends. The Steam train is wonderful and the Interior of the Carriages beautiful and old worldly. It is only a 5k ride to the bridge where you can take photos of the Falls. The panhandlers on the bridge are too persistent and became annoying. The food is provided by the Royal Livingstone... This steam train and dinner experience was an incredible trip. It is romantic and elegant and all things 100 years old. The train is beautiful and graceful, the service old school colonial and the food beyond 5 star. From start to finish, we felt and were treated like royalty.
