We did a full trip but had to cut it short after we were chased out of the river by a hippo protecting her calf. The guide was knowledgeable and we did not get close to any of the hippos but this one mother took offence. Sounds entertaining now, but was quite frightening at the time!

I went on a four-day Zambesi kayak trip in early November with Water by Nature and had a fantastic time. The trip was really well-organised. Food was great. Campsites idyllic. Water temperature 25° C. Air temperature 35° C. Massive rapids. Friendly pools below. What more can you want? As an OAP paddler (i.e. over 60) to say I was somewhat... More

Arriving in livingstone, staying in Jollyboys for a week visiting all the amazing sights around such as devil's pool etc. all the while building the hunger for kayaking day by day. Then the first day on the river arrives; paddling 11 - 25. Looking at #11 i'm thinking: "this is the biggest thing i've ever seen!" this fenomena continues for... More

Early August 2012 . My son of 16 and I spent a day Kayaking the second half .. rapid 10 to 25 of the Zambezi with the company " Kayak the Zambezi". WE were initially going to do a Rafting trip but after reading the reviews and talking with Hamish at the office in the UK opted for the Kayaks... More

As a reluctant paddler persuaded in a weak moment to join my kayaking husband and his friends on a trip to the Zambezi River as a rafter I arrived with trepidation. I feared I would be rafting with a group of “gung ho’s” eager to take chances and be flipped at every opportunity into a river containing hippos, crocs and... More

What an epic week! 7 days packed full of adventure. First and foremost the river was awesome, warm water, big rapids but also plenty of relaxation time in between the rapids to soak in the incredible surroundings. If the day time activities didn't tire me out enough, the evening activities ensured that I went home a broken but happy women.... More

A bunch of us from Cape Town, South Africa headed up to the Zambezi in October 2011 to join the Zambezi Festival 2011 not knowing what to expect at all. Arriving a day early for the Fest we were able to meet the Kayak the Zambezi guides, Steve, Andrew "Dirk" and Anika around the camp fire on our first night.... More

I was in Livingstone for the second time, and this time it was an experience to be remembered. Kayak the Zambezi put up an amazing festival, and made the week really entertaining, affordable and enjoyable for everyone that come through to visit. I highly recommend a visit to the Zambezi, and I suggest you do it during the festival time.... More

We had booked onto this as part of a longer trip with a company called Water By Nature. They arranged activities for us to do after our 4 day whitewater rafting trip on the Zambezi. We had done a day trip safari to Chobe the previous day and we had loved the rafting, but were keen to give the river... More
