Both museums are part of the same $15 US entry fee, probably a bit steep in all candour. A guide took us around. There is ample written material on both museums, especially the latter. The rail cars are the best feature re the railway portion though the area’s railway history is worth reading. While thee are some items to view—like a torah, sundry gravestones or cornerstones—most of the Jewish sector focus is the original arrival of Jews as traders, eventually developing communities, building synagogues, etc, the role of several men [and some women] detailed in panels.

It was amazing to see the Jewish history of this small city in a small country on a huge continent. It made me proud of my heritage.

Jewish museum was very interesting. Train museum had some educational aspects that filled in some gaps of our information but was very tired in presentation

With a $15 entrance fee, I expected to get a little more. We were asked if we wanted a guide and told it didn't cost much more. We decided to get the guide but he didn't add to the experience and even seemed a bit impatient about us reading the displays. Unless you are really into trains, I would not recommend.

For a region with such a rich railway history this was super disappointing and mostly a sawmill railway history. The exhibits are in poor condition mostly.
The Jewish museum was really well presented and very interesting - you need to read quite a bit, but good photos too.

The history of Jews in Livingstone is well portrayed but is very limited to the history of Livingstone. We were told there is nw only one Jewish Lady living in Livingstone in 2018 which is most unusual to learn

My friend is a huge steam railway fanatic and he was in his element at the railway museum. He had plenty of time to examine the locos in detail and to talk to some of the engineers and the guide was very helpful. Seeing the earliest cars, pushed to the Falls by workers was sobering as was some of the information in the Jewish Museum. Well worth a visit.

Well done museum, especially the Jewish Museum. Fascinating to learn about the early settlers and their tribulations and hopes and courage.

This is a dual museum ie colocated. The railway museum wich is the main museum costs $15 USA. Can take a taxi there. The railway part is deteriorated in terms of condition. It is for buffs only. The Jewish museum reflects the significant impact of the Jews on industrialisation and commerce in Zambia. This museum is well curated is a must, just so well laid out and very interesting. Look at the audiovisuals as well.

A lot of steam trains from early 1900s and a small Jewish museum which documents the Jewish families that lived here.
A nice hour spent here.
