One of the most amazing places I have ever been. The trees are out of Land of the Lost and the feeling you have is like nowhere else. We went with Incense Caravan and they did a great job in arranging and re-arranging everything as there were many changes. If you have a chance to go, please do because you... More

Socotra or Pirate Island as it is otherwise known located off the coast of Yemen in the Indian Ocean, the island of Socotra contains some of the world's most astonishing and unique plant forms. More than a third of the 800 or so species on the island are found nowhere else on earth.Monsoon rains have cut through the island's limestone... More

Don’t miss a chance, go and explore the island when it’s still virgin and pure! Socotra belongs to Yemen, but has nothing to do with the mainland problems. It’s a safe destination to visit and it is on a bucket list of every serious traveller. The uniqueness of Socotra is undeniable. You might be surprised though how little tourist you... More

I visited Socotra with my wife in the first half of March, 2015, for 10 days, using services of Socotra Eco Tours. The island is incredibly beautiful, local people were kind and our guide and driver were also friendly and helpful, so both of us felt absolutely safe there. Food - mainly fresh fish caught on the respective day -... More

We visited Socotra Island for a long weekend in April 2013. We were absolutely stunned by the beauty of the islands distinct flora and fauna - both on land and below sea. Dragon blood trees, cucumber trees and desert rose trees to mention a few... Dolphins, mantas, sharks and untouched coral reef with +30 m visibility (however, with only 1... More

We decided to explore Socotra in January 2015. I can honestly say that, those days spent in there were amazing and I would easily go back at any time. The island is unspoiled by the technology and the locals are extremely warm and good people. The food is natural, organic and of course extremely tasty. We booked 7 nights’ accommodation... More

The title is no typo – goats are at the very heart of Socotri life! There is not a square centimeter of the island they are not found, except on sheer cliffs. Like many others before me here on Tripadvisor, I concur – this island is stunningly beautiful on so many levels, you would want to come back. In fact... More

Visiting Socotra was the best trip I have ever made - it's an ultra beautiful island where the Indian Ocean meets the Arabian Sea. The island's microclimate means there a many different landscapes and so much unusual plant and animal life. Just some of the many highlights were: wandering among huge desert-like white sand dunes; snorkelling for hours gazing and... More
