What an amazing kite-school! The staff are very attentive. They are committed to make it safe for newbies like me. Even when one "graduates", they are still giving pointers to make you even more successful in your kiting. Definitely two thumbs up!

There are many kite schools along the Mui Ne beach. For the last 8years, we found ourselves back at Windchimes again and again. The main reason is customer service. Despite our regular returns, the staff were never complacent. They bent over backwards to make our kitesurfing experience fun, reliable and most importantly safe.
With the happy hours, it was definitely plus to mingle and share "war stories"
Thank you Windchimes for yet another favorable and memorable experience.

I have been back to Windchimes more than 10 x times. Firstly because of the reliable winds and secondly because it is such a great set up.

The beach is widest here, so it is real safe for take off & landing. There are no rocks or obstacles. The fishing boats are usually at least 1km or more off-shore. Plenty of room to kite safe! Windchimes have a very wide range of quality equipment. I started with lessons - riding to windward - and now rent gear each trip. As a renter I am very happy with the range, quality of gear, and its maintenance. I feel safe here.

Windchimes beach boys are very helpful and experienced. They understand and practice good safety. They are very attentive and patrol all along the beach if you are getting blown downwind! There is a coordinated jet ski for rescue just 100m away, and I've had to use it twice.

If the wind changes during the day, they are perfectly happy for you to come in and change kites. Last trip I used a 12m, 10m and 8m all in one day. Their largest kite is 16m and I think they have as small as 6m, and then trainer kites too. You can change board sizes and types for all weights and wind conditions (twin tips, directional, surf boards & race boards). They also have extra conveniences, like lockers for your gear and a water fountain. I've only taken their windsurfers out once, and they have a really big range of gear.

Mr Trang, Tham and some of the staff are highly proficient kiters, and offer some very helpful tips and advice. They also sell ideal sunglasses for kiting - flexible frames with a strap so you don't lose them. The best thing I can say about Windchimes is their attitude. They are there to ensure that you have an enjoyable experience: getting there, and both on & off the water. I strongly recommend Windchimes.

My tips are:
1. take the FUTA Buslines "sleeper bus". Departs District 1 HCMC at 7pm, arrives Mui Ne 1am. Clean, decent air-con and lie down flat - relax the whole journey. 0838309309
2. Stay at the Chau Linh hotel US$20/double, air con, TV, clean & comfortable - directly across the road from Saigon Mui Ne Hotel and Windchimes. (You can ask Windchimes to book it for you)
3. Eat terrific Indian food at "Royal Indian" only 200m north of Saigon Mui Ne hotel.
4. Ask Mr Trang for recommendations on seafood, BBQ goat and the best local restaurants. Great food in Mui Ne!
5. Take a relaxing massage at Lemon Spa.

The place is lovely and the owner very friendly. It is also less expensive than it´s competitor Jibes. However, the windsurfing equipment is rather limited and not treated with care (hammering on masts to remove mast extensions, etc). We thus changed to Jibes and the difference in terms of the equipments' quality was tremendous... Definitely worth spending a few bucks more, especially because staff at Jibes are very generous when it comes to amount of rental time they charge you so that in the end we did not pay more than at windchimes, but had a so much more enjoyable experience

We traveled here in December, WindChimes was over-run and Mr. Trang + other staff continuously kept us waiting. We saw numerous "close calls" with beginners and our own kid was left on his own and wasnt watched as we had asked. We left our gear with them overnight and one of our bar's lines were severed, we also lost a part of our gear - this is a service we were paying 10$/day/person.

When we complained they really didnt seem to care, and finally we forced them to look around and at least we found one of our lost parts in a staff locker.

They dont setup your kite, they dont setup your lines, if they are around they help launch but when I cam back there was nobody around to land me - really frustrating given the amount of traffic on the beach.

Its fine if you come here JUST to kite, but I wouldn't recommend this one if you are here for a "no-hassle" holiday or want to learn. If I wanted to setup/launch/land and deal with issues I would have stayed home for hurricane season ;)

NOW the good news; The INSTRUCTORS are nice, good but overworked and I guess any other month than peak December it would have been fine.

Windchimes is absolutely amazing. The staff are very patient and helpful and they are committed to getting you up and riding the safest way possible. They have the longest stretch of beach (compared to the other kite schools) and beachboys stationed at various points along the beach so that you are watched at all times. If you need help the team is very attentive and very responsive.

This school is only a bit pricier than others along the beach, but you definitely want to pay for safety when taking this sport on in the beginning. They also have current equipment in good condition.

My husband and I both took lessons here and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn how to kite.

In November 2017 I had my first kiting experience at WindChimes. After some research, this school was recommended by a friend of mine who has been kiting for years. I took some lessons for three days and was thrilled, even I was not able to kite yet. The skilled, friendly and helpful instructor togehter with the friendly and helpful team created a warm atmosphere that made the experience and stay much more than "just" about learning to kite.
So we decided to go back, this year for a longer stay in November/December. And it has been a great experience, with the same lovely atmosphere with a very helpfull team and great instructors (I was lucky to experience two). The feeling of getting up and kiting after quite some trying and patient and good guidance is hard to describe. So thanks to the whole WindChimes team - I am quite sure I will come back to kite, as the service is excellent.

My girlfriend and I are travelling for a year and one of our key aims was to learn kitesurfing. Our one month in Mui Ne (and getting to the stage of being confident kite boarders) has been the highlight of the trip so far.

We chose Windchimes to get us kitesurfing and we were so happy that we did. From the start of the process Trang saw what we were looking for and delivered with the help of his professional and friendly team of beach boys and instructors. The school is also very well positioned on the beach, upwind allowing you room To drift and practice.

We both were given excellent instructors Jeroen and Tien) who helped us right through the process. We spent every day at Windchimes working & relaxing with the friendly team and other customers whether there was wind or we were waiting for wind to come!!

Once we were up and going it was time to rent equipment and continue our learning independently with the support of Trang and his beach team. This was another really great part of the service (as per of the rental price (no extra cost)... when you are learning you will be walking up the beach... A LOT... having help with this is great. Also knowing that you have st least one of the beach team assigned to you to watch out for you is also really good. A couple of times I had accidents and the jet ski was out to give assistance within minutes.

All round we had a great time not only kitesurfing with the best service I think we will ever experience (we have been elsewhere since) but also making friends and becoming part of Windchimes.

Cheers guys

Good place in Vietnam to go kitesurfing. The wind normally starts after having breakfast and chilling in the hammock and last untill the start of the cosy happy hour. Nice owner and the beach boys are very friendly and helpful with launching and landing your kite. The kite beach is very long and wide enough. The have an air compressor, so you can leave your pump at home. They also watch you and have a jet-ski in case you need to be rescued.
