Came to this Kite station last year accidently; for a few days, we only watched the pros doing all their jumps in the blowing wind. The conditions with wind and waves seemed to be much to much for us, who just started to kitesurf. One of the German speaking instructors convinced us, that we can cope with that having had a few hours tuition. So it was!
Beeing certified, we could rent our gear: the beachboys do a incredible job: setting you up with the right equipment (wich is in a very good condition); and helping you in every situation in and out of the water (rigging an bringing another kite /board in the water; be right on the long beach, whereever you are stranded to sort things out---worldfamous!!
Beside the safe and good tuition you get, and the easy and fair rental there is a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere within the team and all custumers: You are very well looked after and not just another student/kiter.
Beside that: the location is great: next to the path from the road to the beach; palm trees for some shade; toilet and shower provided.
We got addicted last year (stayed 5 weeks) only to come back this year for 10 weeks. Thanks to the Surfpoint family we never got bored and we will be back again!! THX to the owners and especially the beachboys: you were great!!

Having previously had a few kite lessons in Morocco over a year ago I wasn’t planning on doing any during my travels in Asia however as a friend was keen to give kiting a go I decided to do a lesson as well. After a two hour session with Adam getting used to the kite again improving my technique and filling in the gaps I was able to spend the next session in the water practicing getting up and body dragging With the board. By the end of my third session I was out on the water on my own with Adam teaching over radio from the beach now able to get up and travel some distance.
Would happily recommend this place to learners as I didn’t think I would progress as much as I did in three days and would have had more lessons if I was in mui ne for longer as everyone is so friendly and extremely knowledgeable on the sport.
Thanks to Adam and the rest of the team for making my time with surf point a memorable experience and hopefully I can take what I learned further.

In 4 sessions they thought us how to to water start and kite for the first time on water. We felt safe and that we had good equipment and professional instructors. It’s fun to see how they really want us to succeed. We highly recommend this place to try kite surf. (We already tried a couple of times before the course)

Im not one to write reviews. Infact, this is my first but I felt I had to give some sort of accreditation for the spectacular job these guys did at getting me from a complete rookie to a self sufficient kite boarder.

In total I did 6 days, averaging about two hours a day. In which I found to be the perfect amount of time to learn and develop skills whilst not burning myself out.

The instructors and staff are very friendly and encouraging and made the experience very relaxed.

As others have said, they go at your own pace and give solid advice and training. My instructor Adam never overloaded my training and only introduced new skills and techniques as I improved allowing for a smooth progression in my ability without any frustration. He's also a top bloke.

Thanks for the first class training and I look forward to continuing the sport back home!

I took a beginners' course and had a really great time! While the location (Mui Ne in general) is not the easiest spot for starting kite surfing, the guys do their best to make you feel comfortable and safe in any situation. Special thanks go out to Peter, who is a great teacher and a really cool guy. I'd definitely come back here!

Great kitesurfing school, nice equipment, beautiful spot and great instructors. Pure joy and fun on the water. Once you come and you will always want to come back. Lessons with Adam mean safety, trust in skills and a solid dose of positive energy! Even if you haven't planned a long kitesurfing trip, it's worth coming for a few lessons - you'll love this place, people and sport!

Being a reasonably experienced kitesurfer, I had a bad experience at Surfpoint, and would not recommend it, despite half of the team being very correct and apologetic about what happened.

Despite insisting to be watched and helped if anything happened, I was disappointed by the lack of security. A beach boy came to help after a few minutes when my kite got tangled. But he then left me with another kite but no board and no guidance (wait for him? body drag to the shore?). After drifting and waiting for a few minutes, I decided to drag myself to the beach, but my kite unfortunately fell, and I could not re-launch it because of low wind. I was left 30 minutes swimming on my own, with fishing nets in between (where the kite eventually got tangled obviously), and got no help from other beach boys, despite several of them being sat at the shop. I whistled several times, the whole beach saw me struggle, but not the school. I finally managed to reach the shore on my own, exhausted. Any inexperienced swimmer could have drowned after so much time swimming against the kite. Again - I did insist on security and being closely watched...
When I returned to the shop, the beach boy laughed loudly and openly at me, sharing it with his Vietnamese friends who found it very amusing too. Imagine how you’d feel...
When I told one of the owners (Phom) about the bad experience, to my surprise I was given no apologies whatsoever. I kindly pointed out that the chicken loop would not release too (I did manage eventually, after several tries), and to add insult to injury, I got called a liar (he also discussed the fact that it was not 30 minutes of swim but “only 20”). Phom was very aggressive and kept arguing for long minutes instead of simply apologising about his lack of surveillance. His attitude together with the laughing beach boy’s was very shocking, especially after such a dramatic experience.
In fairness, I must underline that some of the staff (Adam, the co-owner + one of the instructor whom I don’t know the name but who saw me reach the beach exhausted) were much more professional and helpful, and did apologise, both about the danger that I overcame on my own and the attitude of the rest of the staff. But that was not enough to make up for it.
Dreadful experience, would never recommend Surfpoint to anyone.
Went to Sailing Club the following day: everything went smoothly, with very kind staff, providing valuable tips for improvement. Definitely the kind of attitude you would hope from your kite shop.

Hi Mathieu, I would like to appologise for your experience once again. However I do feel like discussing some aspects of this situation. Please have in mind that our perception changes under stress. Also I would like to underline that on the first session you had this day you managed to ride having everything under controll. On the second session you started making many unforced errors including dropping the kite several times in the water untill it was too tangled to relaunch. Then we sent one of our beachboys to give you another kite which is already way more than regular rental service. At this point when you received the new kite as a reasonably experienced kitesurfer you should be able to recover the board by yourself. Instead you have lost controll again and dropped the kite over the one you previously tangled. To name possible reasons it could be fatigue or stress or both. All this was happening less than 70 meter from the shore which is a safe distance to swim. Our beachboy Cot the one who tried to help you was not laughing at you but he was appologising and explaining himself with the smile saying he did everything he could to help you but once you dropped the new kite on the one you previusly tangled there was not much more he could do to help. At this point with all my knowledge of 13 years of teaching kiteboarding I have to underline that your perception of yourself as reasonably experienced kitesurfer could be an overestimation. Phong's reaction was defensive since you came out of the water with certain attitude and we did our best including riding out to you with second kite to change over yet still your lack of controll voided our efforts. Regarding the time you spent swimming in the water it was between 5 and 7 minutes and I understand it might seem longer since stress influences our perception. My view on this situation is that many things went wrong along the way and we did not assume that you'll loose controll of the kite this many times in a row. I also understand and I saw you having bad experience. For that I do appologise but you should have in mind that it was in big part caused by the ammount of unforced errors you have made while controlling the kite. We did our best to help but renting equipment involves abilities like being able to controll the kite and recover the board in deep water. Those abilites were greatly dimished at that moment you describe. You were given more assistance that is included in any rental service available around the world and things still went wrong. I hope you can see things as they are. Providing difficult experience was never part of our mission and never will be so once again appologies for that. Kind Regards, Adam Surfpoint Vietnam

I had 4hrs lessons with Xuan and my girlfriend had 4hrs lessons with Phi. Our experience was great. They spoke clear English and were patient and encouraging the entire time. What I liked most about them was how fair and ethic they were, since we attended in the low wind season they would ensure we were aware of the times we hadn't completed full hours due to the wind conditions and offered the option of adding that time to the next days lesson or to have that time returned back in money. I found this so honest and open as they would not waste your time and money in bad conditions that you couldn't advance in just to make extra cash. Also whilst being at the shack on the beach waiting for wind was as great of a memory as the lessons. All the teachers would socialize with you a lot, play heaps of pass time games and would always include everyone in the fun. They are also eager to help out with advice on anything in Mui Ne... Awesome bunch of guys!!! Will definitely be returning!

I learned kite surfing in a week and I have to say it is a very interesting sport. My teacher taught me excellently and was very patient with me. She always spurred me on and the results were really good. I can this kite surf school very well recommend. It has a lot of fun and would make it again at any time. And thanks once again for my kite surf teacher Katya. Excellent work.

This is our fourth year in Vietnam and we always come back to the same place: Surfpoint. There are other kite spots, hotels and schools, but none of them compare to Surfpoint. This is one of the friendliest spots out there. Even if we do not take lessons anymore, they take the time to help us and make our stay unforgettable. Thanks again Adam, Peter and Phong! :)
