Eat fried crickets & rice wine

This place is a Cricket Farm and Silkworm Farm. It is not a very big place and doesn’t take long to see everything. After that the main attraction is eating fried crickets with rice wine. Taste good. Anyway, it is not that big a deal. If you were to miss this place you would not be missing much. But if you go, don’t miss out and try eating fried crickets with rice wine!

It was amazing expirience see and try eat from this farm. There are good staff. You can see how grow up. You can see these worms in every stage of their development. Finally, eat it perfectly baked. Delicious 😀

Nice break from the scooter

It nice to see what might be future food and the extra info but because I had already had grasshoppers in Thailand on the street, I skipped this time.

Not worth the visit

If it was not for the posters we would have been non the wiser on the life cycle of crickets that end up on a plate. We didn't try the cooked crickets. Beside the cricket farm is the owners chickens that are kept in the smallest of cages with no water.

Mistreated animals

This place brought me to tears as the animals were kept in such poor conditions. There was a deer pacing backwards and forwards constantly in a small pen, next to some crocodiles in a small concrete cell with a small pool of water. Inside were depressed looking civet cats kept in a tiny cage with nothing but them self in the cage. There was a concrete cell with several porcupines with barely enough room to move around and an abundance of guinea pigs all piled on top of each other. I didn't even look at the crickets or the rice wine part as I was so upset by the conditions that these poor distressed animals were being kept in. If you want to make money from imprisoning animals at least give them some space to move around and a bit of their own natural environment to live in. Some wood, soil, plants, something soft to sleep on, just something that mimics their natural environment so that tourists aren't upset by the misery on their faces when we visit.

It's amazing to see how they raise crickets there. You might wonder what they raise crickets for, the answer is for food. Coming there, you have chance to discover how crickets taste like... Beside that, cricket wine is available....

The animals they keep there are kept in appalling conditions. Heartbreaking, ostrich with all its feathers plucked out. Porcupine in concrete container a meter squared, depressed facing the corner. They should be ashamed, do not fund this terrible place.

Worth a visit

An usual little find but glad we visited! We saw all the crickets and even got to taste them- not as bad as you’d think! We also were offered the rice wine that they produce. Nice place for a short stop off on a tour of Da Lat.

Pretty interesting to learn all about the lifecycle of a cricket and how they are used in Vietnam. Came here as part of a multi stop tour, otherwise wouldn’t have visited.

The crickets were tasty

Glad we came here as it was a really interesting place and i never realised that there were such a thing as (cricket farms). We were guided round the farm and shown the process. Afterwards we got to taste fried crickets that tasted surprisingly good as a devoured about 20 of them. Later we tasted cricket tea and rice wine, both good enough for me. This was also a restaurant specialising in cricket dishes, photos adorned the walls. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here, even though my wife would not try the crickets.
