This is such a wonderful thing to do in Hoi An and The Lantern Lady does it best of all! I came here last year and loved it so much. This year I brought my friends along the day we arrived in Hoi An. We all had a great time making our own special souvenirs to take home and my friends went back to make more! The Lantern Lady is so helpful and patient, and she makes sure you have a beautiful lantern to take home. I can't recommend this class enough!

My husband and I both made a famous Hoi An Lantern this morning here and absolutely loved every second. Really helpful and patient when teaching us and everything you need to make and take home your very own lantern for a great price. They even provided us with water. Highly recommend anyone visiting Hoi An to do this activity here. It was one of my favourite things to do and have my own lantern to take home as a reminder of my time here.

Walked past a sign for the lantern lady a little way out of the old town on the first day and even though there were lots more places in town decided I wanted to go back here. It was a great call. The ladies were lovely, it was a great experience and I’m delighted with my finished product. 200,000VND for my large lamp.

Could recommend this workshop more! The amount of people in our group kept changing and because of the rain some people were delayed - even though we were late and there were 11 of us in total they were so friendly and accommodating! The class itself was so enjoyable and hands on, and we got help when we needed! Overall we had such a fun morning and I’d definitely add it to your Hoi An to do list!

Such a fun experience! This is definitely a must when in Hoi An, and this place is so much cheaper than the other workshops. Helpful every step of the way, and you end up with a really nice souvenir. My lantern ended up a little crooked due to a weak bamboo stick and the lady fixed it for me for free. Such a fun activity for an afternoon

Visited & opted to do 20cm foldable lantern which would be approximately 1 hour. Neither of us are great with any kind of creative activity but really enjoyed this. Nice informal environment, help when required and you get to keep the lantern.

We are a family of 4 with teenager daughters and had a very enjoyable experience at the Lantern Lady. The family was very helpful checking each stage and helping with one to one instruction to help us make our lantern from scratch. Lots of choices in size, shape and fabric. The making process was relatively simple and very relaxing. Perfect for a rainy day, or any day really. Very happy with our lanterns to take home. Might even go back tomorrow! Highly recommend.

Such a lovely experience! We went with our 3 year old daughter and the family were so friendly and helpful (even giving our little one a raincoat!) There are different sizes, styles and fabrics to choose from. It can get busy as it’s such a popular activity (understandably so!)

This is an experience I recommend to everyone in Hoi an. The lady is amazing, so gentle and patient, she helped us in every step, always supporting. In the end, even though time had run out, she continued to follow us completing the lantern. We are very proud of the result and we wont’t forget this experience.

Such a lovely experience - we came in as a walk in and were given somewhere to sit straight away, and water and shown the options we could pick. We did the large lanterns which took over 2 hours (I was a little slower). I am not the best at craft things and they were so patient, kind and helped fix a couple of small mistakes without taking over and I am so excited I made a lantern that I can say I made myself, something I thought might be beyond my ability. Such a memorable experience that made me feel closer to Hoi An and also made a wonderful souvenir
