I did the half day tour an easy 25 klms which included a delicious lunch at the water coconut village. The tour went along one of the many river systems stopping at a very large Pagoda then down to the local beach, An Bang where we got to go for a short swim from there we visited the vegetable garden/ village through rice fields to one of the local markets outside of Hoi An not really visited by tourists, from there through a small village and more rice fields past a huge Cemetery, winding our way through small canals to the water coconut village and a delicious lunch over looking the water from there we followed the main river the Tho Bon into the old town past the Japanese Bridge and back to our start point and a cold beer. This tour was very easy as the bicycles have seven internal gears and are very comfortable to ride I would recommend this tour to all, so much seen and learn't about Vietnamese life

Opted for a morning tour to explore the surrounding area a bit, and am so glad I did as it was very enjoyable for a variety of reasons;
- very professional from start to finish. I booked the morning tour with only a days notice, but that wasn't an issue and received a confirmation email almost straight away. On the day of my tour I was greeted at my hotel reception promptly by my guide (Thang) for the day as arranged.
- It turns out I was the only one on the tour that day, but it was still run much to my personal delight.
- Thang was a great tour guide; very friendly and knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. Very easy to chat to and learn about what we had seen on the trip, and beyond.
- The bikes attracted me in as a bit of a novelty, but are more than that once you get going on them. They are very comfortable to ride on and have multiple gears to choose from, but you barely need to move between 3 of them. They also have a basket for storing water and suncream. Additionally, the bikes are made locally in Vietnam and I am led to believe the company owner hopes to open a factory in the future to produce more bikes that can then be sold elsewhere- seems a good thing to me as helps promote the use of a pretty sustainable material whilst benefits the country by having more money invested.
- all entry fees are included in the prices, along with water and a coffee.
- the stops on the tour it self were a nice mix and give a good insight into different elements of Vietnamese life. Riding between them was easy and I felt safe the entire time; was like riding quiet country lanes back in Scotland (well, besides the heat)
- no mention or request of a tip when the tour was over so felt no obligation (which to me is how it should be in such a situation), but I was more than happy to hand over a bit extra to Thang as appreciation for the morning out.

All in all I'd very much recommend these guys, not really sure what else they could have done to improve my experience with them.

My partner and I went on this tour in July this year. While I was apprehensive about riding a bike for 20km in the heat, it was a really fun morning. We loved seeing the surroundings of Hoi An and seeing local businesses. The company provides water (one 1.5L bottle per person, so bring your own as well if you think that won't be enough), hats, and sunscreen. There were only the two of us on this trip and we had two guides between us. A fantastic way to spend a day, and a tour I'd definitely recommend to anyone visiting Hoi An.

I was keen to get out into the countryside surrounding Hoi An and decided last minute to book a half day tour with Bamboo Bicycle tours, I opted for the afternoon, despite the risk of it being very hot, I didn't fancy another early morning start. As luck would have it there was quite a breeze and the weather was relatively cool so it was a good cycling day. I too was the only one on the tour for the afternoon, as the mornings tend to be more popular, this meant I had my very own personal tour with the excellent and knowledgeable Thanh Le. The tour itself was excellent, covering everything from a pagoda, to rice pancake making and a visit to the vegetable village - I learned about how rice is grown, burial and funeral rituals in Vietnam, what peanuts look like growing in the ground and met some of the locals. The bikes themselves are brilliantly made and so smooth to ride, we covered 20km in total, but at a great pace with plenty of time for photos. This really was an exceptional tour and I would highly recommend it to anyone staying in Hoi An.

Had a wonderful 8hr private bike ride with Hien who was so kind and knowledgeable about everything :)

This trip is highly recommended if you are interested in learning more about Vietnamese culture, discovering a different side of Hoi An, and meeting local people along the way.

Highly recommended :)

The bicycle are unique and the ride was smooth and easy. Saw some great countryside sceneries and learned about local economy such as rice paper making, fishing, and boat making. Really enjoyed the temple as well. Of all the tours I did in Hoi An, this one is the most efficient where we saw quite a lot in just 4 hours without feeling rushed.

Right from the get go we could tell this was going to be a great trip. Our guide, Hien, was amazing. Not only did she share the sights and sounds of Hoi An, but through her stories of growing up in Vietnam, we grew to appreciate the struggles and strength of the Vietnamese people. We visited a fishing village, a coffee roastery, a family cookie business, a fish oil factory, and a rice paper company. All this, while we meandered on back roads through villages, stopping whenever we had questions and learning about the plants and life in the villages. The pace was perfect, and the bikes were very comfortable.

We have really had a great half day tour today together with Thanh.
She showed us the real Vietnam with e.g visiting a pagode, an authentic Vietnamese family and an eco farm ground with biological herbs and vegetables.

Thanh was fantastic, speaking English very well and true about a lot of things about Vietnam.
She was very careful about a little accident which happened during stopping the bike.
And if you had any questions about restaurants, stores, etc. she came back with all the tips & tricks, even before or after the tour.

Excellent equipment outstanding bamboo bike with a basket in front of it, filled with a rain coat and enough mineral water.

So: do not hesitate if you would like to book a tour; go to Bamboo Bicyle Tours and do book!

Great way to see off the beaten track. This was the better of the bike tours, in my opinion, personalised and no pressure. Hien is a knowledgeable guide and a delightful young lady.Thank you for the experience.
