I came to this cloth shop in 8 - 2015 because of its unique style of decoration. I went in just because of curiosity but later on I decided to buy some clothes since the staffs are very friendly. To be honest, the clothes quality is really fantastic with very short time in making 3 dress. I waited only for 2 days because i need to catch my flight back to my country. I will surely visit this shop again when i'm in Hoi An.

I got two pairs of men's slacks made for work back in the US and am very satisfied. The staff was super helpful in explaining the different prices and materials. I ended up getting one that was a bit higher end and one standard. They fit so well on the first attempt and only very minor alterations were needed. Total cost was $70usd for pants that fit perfectly and will last a long time (they triple stitched them for me). Highly recommend!

I asked for a basic night dress made in silk and a pair of trousers. When I came to try them on the night dress was not made to my measurements it was too tight and just didn’t fit properly. I asked for alterations on all of the items as they all needed changes. The alterations was the reason I got this service as I wanted the clothes to fit perfectly, however the alterations were not offered easily they were agreed begrudgingly. On the final visit the dress still wasn’t right. It was still too tight on the bust making the fabric gape in some places and pull in other places. We were leaving that day so I had to take the dress however I was very disappointed. I had to get the dress altered again when I got home, spending more money. I will add that they did a great job of the trousers and another dress they made for me but these items were chosen from the pre made clothes they had on show just in different fabrics. My advice would be to only ask for an item you can see in the store as anything else they have trouble making.

Luckily I was here for 3 nights which meant I had some time to give them the benefit of the doubt. I bought 5 pairs of trousers which are loose beach trouser style, in different colours. And I paid for them all up front. When I collected them the crotch was near my knees so they realised they’d made an error and offered to amend free of charge. 👍 They measured me again to ensure they fitted around my body before they flared loosely. 👍 Returned the next day and they were the same. 👎 One pair had been taken in at the side but the crotch again was hanging low! 👎 So she offered to re measure and return the next day. I’ve just finish in there. The crotches on all pairs did not fit. All had been taken in though this time. It was the crotch that I emphasised showing the girl each time that I wanted them fitting properly hence the tailoring and not buying off the shelf. I now have 5 pairs of trousers which are useless to me as I can’t walk in them. 👎 I was however able to negotiate some discount but it had to be done very persistently and a refusal to leave the shop until a compromise was sought was needed. I thought a 50% discount would be reasonable - they failed to deliver but they did have to buy the material etc. And I have 5 trousers which are no good. Both of us lose out and both out of pocket. In the end instead of $70 reimbursement I accepted $50. This has put me off any tailoring services in the Far East. Don’t pay up front and only get one made first. I trusted too much and paid the price of $90. Be careful with this shop.

My husband and I decided to have a few things made while recently visiting Hoi An. Hubby wanted business shirts and selected his materials from a bolt, I on the other hand selected material from a small swatch and kept asking was the material cotton like the dress I had provided as a copy and was told yes it was the same. We were told to pick everything up at 10am (my dress being US$40) and arrived to be told that my husbands shirts were ready (they were well made and fitted perfectly) but my dress wasn't completed and were were told to come back at 12 I said that we were scheduled to leave Hoi An at 11.30 so would need to get it before then, after a phone call we were told to come back at 11.15. I went back to the motel and organised check out and my husband returned to Cocoon Silk to pick up my dress. I was excited to see the dress once we arrived at our next destination and opened the plastic cover with high anticipation to find a thick T-shirt stretch material dress that almost reached my feet and had no shape or redeeming features it was something that I now wear around the house. To say I was disappointed is an understatement after hearing such good reports on tailors in Hoi An I obviously needed to do my homework. The dress is well made but not what I was expecting. It is nothing like the dress i had provided for sizing and style. Just a suggestion to anyone considering having something tailor made do your home work so that you are not paying US$40 for something you can only wear around the house.

My husband and I visited this corner shop that has beautiful silk dresses. I was surprised that they could make silk dresses and blouses with elaborate embroidery in 1 day. Ms Phuong and Ms Nga were very professional and patience when we chose our fabrics and designs. They all fit well.

The experience that more than what i can imagine. I went to this cocoon shop and the staffs welcome me in a very friendly style. They serve me from the bottom of their heart which makes me very welcoming. Beyond that the quality is extremely good. Will be back soon.

I had visited the shop in April, 2019. Incidentally, this was one of the top rated places on TripAdvisor and surely the place has lived up to all its superlative praise.
I had brought a total of 7 scarfs from this place for my family and friends. The lady at the shop had profound knowledge about the process of silk making and how to differentiate between different qualities of silk. A must go for anyone interested in buying silk scarves in Hoi An.
