About
Another of the twenty assembly halls in Hoi An. Though it has some attractive detail, this assembly hall isn’t as elaborate as the Cantonese or Fukian.

trieu chau also known as teochew,it is their assembly hall in Hoi An.i visited here last year september.it was built by Chinese overseas coming from Trieu Chau.it is worshipping to the God of Wind and big waves. The house's owners hope this God will always bring luck and help them travel easily on the sea.The main hall is devoted to General Phuc Ba, a god of mastering waters. In Trieu Chau Assembly Hall, the construction is mainly made of wood, you can admire the architecture and learn more about the construction of teochew people.as a descendant of teochew,i found the tight connection to this place.that day i visited was a rainy day,so i spent lot of time here, and think of my ancestors too...

Trieu Chau Assembly Hall was built in 1845 by the State of Trieu Chau. It was to serve as a place for activities and beliefs. The Assembly Hall worship gods to overcome the wind & waves. Architectural work with incredibly detailed. Ton’s of wood carvings, motifs & wooden traditional decorations & stone pieces carved such as: fish, dragon, phoenix, spirits & birds. Don’t forget to check out the many rooms, paintings and even the mosaic decoration on the top of the Temple roof which was done in 1885. Every corner you walk around you will be blown away.

We went mid day and it was very busy but I still feel it was worth a ticket.
Don't forget to purchase your ticket before heading to a this stop at the Old Town Booth. The tickets includes 5 entrance fees. You have 24 hours from time of purchase to use them. It cost 120,000VND (around $7.10CAD). There are 21 sightseeing to choose from.

My favourite Chinese Assembly Hall in Vietnam. Very quiet when I visited. Stunning woodcarvings. I wish there was more info available. It is definitely worth a visit.

Take a nice walk inside this building, check the prayers of people written on pieces of paper, waiting to be fulfilled, check the gardens with beautiful paintings, two little bridges and a big statue of dragons. Very inspiring!

Amazing details. Great to have a private tour guide to explain all the details. The private tour guide was very cheap. We signed up when we bought the tickets to the city.

Dropped by here and whilst inside the heavens opened so we spent over an hour whilst waiting for the rain to subside. Having so much time gave us a real insight into the finer detail of the art work and architecture and the old chap taking the tickets treated us like long lost family, what a star, bringing out drinks and chocolate, truly hospitable.

Of all the historic sites I visited in Hoi An Ancient Town, this assembly hall was in my ‘top 2’ with intricate wood carvings around the alter, (faded) painted stone friezes on the walls inside and out, and ornate carvings on the rooftops.

This was our 2nd time in Hoi An so we were visiting some of the less popular attractions. It is behind the market, almost out of old town so I don’t think a lot of people bother going to it. Bonus for us as we had it to ourselves. I very much liked this place. It is only small but is very richly decorated. The roof tiles are elaborate with extravagant and ornate cornices. An underrated attraction well worth the visit.
