There was nothing special about this central market if you have visited similar ones in other city. Since it's the route to access to Hoi An Ancient Town, traffic was very heavy. For this reason, hawker stalls nearing road side would be upset when tourists stood there a bit too long. They would shout at people loudly.

A bustling market with loads of stalls selling clothes, gifts, jewellery, etc. It’s really lively and it’s great if you’re looking for souvenirs or gifts. We especially enjoyed browsing the food stalls, and had a lovely lunch and a couple of beers at one of the food stalls – there’s plenty of choice, and the menus are all translated so it’s easy to make your choice. The food was freshly prepared, really delicious and I’d highly recommend it.

This is a massive market with numerous shops/stalls/bars/restaurants/waterfront boat rides, basically attracting every form of tourist visiting Hoi An. For the street food lover the section that resembles a food hall situation was just amazing. We had to go back a number of times to try all the local favourites.

I kind of like the market full of noise and colour and definitely smelly but not that much touristic: you can see that most of the things are sold to local people.
Of course the bits that sell custom jewellery and bags and horn pieces are more touristic but I did enjoy walking and browsing...such fun!

We went to stall 52 in Central Market to have some clothes made following a recommendation from stall 39 at the night market. The service was brilliant. We went around 11am to enquire and got measured for a suit and two dresses which were ready for fitting at 11am the following day. Final adjustments were then made by 3.30pm. The women who operate the stall were great - really friendly and knowledgeable and gave good advice. The clothes we ended up with are such good quality and fit perfectly. Would definitely recommend.

Central Market isn’t anything spectacular. They have the same old same old. Souvenirs, food, and produce. You’re better off going to a local market such as tiger market. Where you won’t be hassled, will have better food and is a much better experience as there are more locals.

Not the tidiest place, but the low price and center location make up for that.
every night on my bike ride into town - a must -
Great experiences on the basket ride & lantern river rides. Excellent introduction of Vietnamese food.

Historic location, more locals, limited ready to eat food options compared to restaurants but the food is good. There are some great restaurants near the market too. Nice ambience . Free toilets available. If you have the time, or if you're hungry, this is a great place to check out.

The Central market essential caters to the locals, so not exactly a place to hang around. Since we were in the area we walked around. A lot of fresh poultry, vegetables and fruit vendors can be seen trading. There are also makeshift eateries selling local delicacies (not exactly for us).

Lovely vibrant market within Hoi An ancient town with street food stalls, fruit and vegetable stalls and other edibles. You can also buy various other things such as incense, oils, scorpion/ snake wines etc. Worth a visit to see all the local varieties.

Hi looking for the best place for souvenirs in Hoi An thanks
Written January 12, 2019
The night market near the old town is OK but mainly "trinket" type souvenirs. The Old town itself has many stores and boutiques if you are after something else. Having said that, The best place to buy the colourful lanterns is the night market. (They collapse for packing).

Do some people walk about with their eyes shut ,plenty of shops cheap as chips, what a magical place.

Hoi An Night markets were by far the best markets for family atmosphere and fun.
Hanio night markets during the lunar festival were amazing with lights, lanterns, music and thousands of people, all very hectic and high energy and excitement. As a couple we were able to move around easily and safely, would be difficult if travelling with children.

You can buy fake bags, watches and sunglasses at any shops who sell them in the shopping area of Hoi An, which is quite a few. There are no shortage of theses items available.

Are there stalls with North Face, Dueter, Jan Sport backpacks and luggage bags at this market?
Written April 4, 2017
I didn't see any stalls in the market (primarily food) with those items, however, there are plenty of shops just of the river walk with backpacks and other outdoor clothing items.

Is walking the best option to get around this area
Written September 13, 2015
Walking is the best option or hire a bicycle no cars are allowed on the surrounding roads.
