We stumbled across this unassuming store in Hoi an old town and were delighted, enchanted and amazed by Uyen and her artistry and craft. She has an incredible array of handpainted silk dresses, tops, skirts and scarves. Uyen and her staff went above and beyond for us during our numerous visits to her store (about 8 in total ) and she created 2 dresses, a uniquely handpainted scarf and table covering for us. WE also bought numerous scarves, beads and tops. The comittment to quality and the artistic process is evident here and it is an artist demonstrating her incredible skill at its best. If you are looking for a unique, authentic and non-mass produced momento of Hoi an then look no further. The spirit of Hoi An and its unique art culture continues to thrive in Papillon Noir - thank you so much Uyen, you are incredible.

Bought two beautiful hand-painted silk scarves from this boutique in Hoi An old town. We liked the colours of one for our daughter, but it had a small mark on it. The lovely owner/artist painted over it as part of the design, and then delivered it to our hotel the next day. She is a real artisan. Very reasonable prices.
