Guitar Hawaii Live Music Bar Hoi An - and New Fender Bar Live DJ & Live Music Hoi An. A great place to spend an evening! Be entertained with huge range of international music including: Latin, Western, Italian, French, Vietnamese and more! Some of the genres performed include: Flamenco, Rock 'n' Roll, Folk, Country, Blues, Traditional and many more. Guests are warmly invited to play or sing with our band, and many do quite often, creating a wide mix of local and overseas styles! But it's not all about our wonderful music... Our friendly atmosphere, warm hospitality and great service are another part of the reason we have earned our reputation for the place to go for a great evening in the beautiful town of Hoi An. You will find our staff are only too happy to make your visit to our bar a pleasurable one, and an evening to remember!

This bar is having very good food all day and great live music at night. 7-10 for breakfast 12-5 lunch. Dinner 7-11pm live music and DJ bar overnight every day.

Tam is an amazing singer and musician. You will enjoy a fantastic night if you don't mind a singing along or by yourself. The drinks are cheep and great. I would highly recommend this bar, you will enjoy if you're willing to join in. 5 star rating

I visited Guitar Hawaii a couple of nights and one night in particular was very good with some talented singers/musicians taking advantage of open mic.
The Owner ( I think) and the main musician is certainly a very talented muso but he is not talented in the anger department. My friends and I witnessed him going outside and hitting one of his staff which left a very bad taste for us. We don't know the circumstances of the problem nor did we want to know but violence doesn't solve any issue in life.
As I said the band and the owner are rare talented musicians and worth seeing.
It was unfortunate that a nasty incident spoilt our time at Guitar Hawaii.From a music point of view it is extremely good depending on the night and what talent is in the audience.If you are talented and want to get up with some excellent muso's give it a go!

A man (not from Vietnam, maybe Australian?) who works for this bar came into the restaurant where we were eating and went around passing out fliers, interrupting people's dinners. I thought it was odd, but we were keen to see some live music so we decided to take one. The flier advertised free shots and really cheap beer and so, even though we're not so into doing shots, we were expecting to be able to get a drink at a reasonable price. No.
We got to the bar and everything on the menu was WAY above market price. A can of coke was above 70,000 vnd, which is crazy here. Even for Tet prices, which I grant you are usually a little higher than normal prices, it's not normal to charge 7 times the price of something (coke=10,000 vnd). When we showed the waiter the flier we had been given he told us "We don't do that during Tet." I pointed at the man who gave it to us that evening and told him that he had just given it to us, and told us to come here. He just shrugged.
I was just really surprised by this level of deceit. I don't normally write negative reviews, I've only written one other one, but the fact that this bar is rated as number one on TA for nightlife in Hoi An made me need to respond. The music is good, but it doesn't make up for this kind of shameless scamming.

I read about Guitar hawaii on TripAdvisor and loved the idea of being able to get up and jam with the band. I was definitely impressed when we arrived to see the band smashing spanish flamenco and western classics mixes in with beautiful viet ballads.
I was able to hop up and play the congas during a couple of songs one a duet with the owner Tam on guitar. I had an incredible time and would give this place a 5/5 but my only problem was that the drinks are a fair bit more expensive than most places around.. I understand paying more because of the music.. but I feel it is a little too much. I would have spent more there if they weren't and I think so would a lot of other people, which would mean more buisiness for Tam and more fun for everybody.

The band is very enthusiastic and has a great passion of giving a musical experience to Hoi An visitors. They have ability to play many kinds of music with various instruments, try to meet audience requirements as fas as possible. The prices are so reasonable. Recommend for who wants a cozy atmosphere with live music, another experience in Hoi An.

The only thing that's wrong with this place are the prices.
The music was great, talented musicians, good location, friendly staff, nice set-up.
But 40.000 dong for a small (!) beer made me not want to stay.
If the prices were reasonable I would have happily stayed, drank all night and enjoyed the good music.
If the management are reading this, please if you drop your prices to a reasonable level, people will stay! Everything else is great.

Extremely talented musicians, they will play whatever you want. You can also join them and sing. It’s a bit far away from the city center.

My wife and I stumbled upon this venue on our way to hail a taxi to our resort 10 minutes away. Serendipitously we walked in and they were playing a song that was very important to us. The band is extremely talented and engaging.
We ended up staying hours past closing with the owner and his wife. Extremely accommodating and interesting experience for two Americans visiting another country in SE Asia.
Reading other reviews....I'd like to say that the CHILD is more of an adult that the reviewer. Perhaps that individual should ask questions and enjoy the experience prior to jumping to conclusions..your assumptions are false and I'd be EMBARRASSED if I had posted a derogatory note about a business before realizing the child's family story and the child's love for guitar MUSIC. Travelers like that give westerners a bad reputation
Drinks may be a bit pricey, but the performance is worth it. Travelers have the discretionary option to leave if they deem necessary or if their budget doesn't permit for a couple of drinks AND free music or if they are unable to recognize talent. Every dollar spent here is well worth it for the music and genuine personalities you might have the good fortune of meeting!

Stumbled across the Guitar Hawaii bar and couldn't believe the guitar playing of the owner Tam.
He is a very accomplished guitar/lap steel guitar/violin/mouth organ. The bar is free entry so the drinks are slightly more expensive than other places ...but nothing is expensive in Vietnam!
Tam with the help of John from Australia invites anyone up to sing/play with him and his band.
We enjoyed our first night there we went back the next night. Tam is a wonderful infectious personality and we now class him as a friend. Get down there and enjoy a relaxed evening with genuine musicians and people....we will be back!!!!
