cool history

neat little spot to visit and here the history on, we did it on a cycle tour and it was well worth it, even if just to get in amongst the real "old city"

Second trip to Hoi An, repeat visit to Ba Le Well. Be prepared... you won't be given a menu. All customers are given a standard tray of greens, cooked meats and rice paper and you create your own Vietnamese rolls for dinner. Staff will model and assist. They are very good with unskilled attempts. We've eaten there quite a few... More

We had a great lunch experience at the Bale Well! If you like authentic local food it's a must go place. There is no menu, you only get one dish. It's something like a wrap that you have to roll by yourself. You get some greens/herbs, fried spring rolls, pork bbq and something like a pancake and you wrap up... More

We went in search of this rather nondescript well, and liked the history of it and the importance of its water to the local noodle speciality. We didn't get to meet its custodian and benefactor unfortunately, but we did stumble on the excellent bale well restaurant nearby, which we went back to later as we liked its atmosphere, location, and... if you like fry ups. this restaurant is above average. Pancakes, spring rolls etc are very oily for my liking. the salad/raw veg is plentiful and good. The staffs are very helpful. Just that I am not into oily food. Hence the rating. It is a big sitting area for families.

Great time at this restaurant - recommended from a friend and now we are passing the advice onto others :-) delicious authentic food - quality Kai (food) and you won't go hungry! If you are still full at the end you're a legend! Thanks heaps for the fast efficient service and cheap price!

Went here with local friend for a true taste of what the locals eat and were not disappointed, service quick and efficient. Arrived quickly and a large amount of pretty much everything needed to make our own bahn xeo and pork. Price was very reasonable and food good,

I went there a few times with my friends. They offered special local foods with great taste and reasonable price. Really enjoyed it.

This place is a huge scam. A variety of local food (banh xeo, spring rolls, chicken sticks) grouped together in a "set menu" served up with little interest or care. Food was terrible, pressured to buy overpriced drinks by the stand over man/waiter. Hugely overpriced. Avoid at all costs!
