We stayed about 30 mins walk out from the old town, which via the riverside/waterfront, was the best way to and from, it is such an enjoyable walk, that not many visitors take/do unless staying out of town, there are many restaurants to enjoy, that have seating along the river, highly recommend this walk when visiting Hoi An.
