There were three of us in our group and we had the entire boat all to ourselves. The staff outnumbered us, so we had amazing and attentive service.

The boat only holds 10 people, so even if there was another group, it wouldn’t feel crowded at all.

The food was terrific too! They started us off with a welcome cocktail (included in the price), followed by an appetizer, then a 3-4 course meal and then dessert.

The scenery up and down the river was nice to see. Our tour left at 5pm, so we were able to see the sunset plus all of the lanterns in the dark when we got near the end of the tour. They also gave us each a floating candle to place into the river and make a wish.

We truly enjoyed ourselves. What a great way to spend the evening in Hoi An. I would highly recommend Cinnamon Cruises!

We celebrated my husband’s 50th birthday on this cruise. It was beautiful and romantic. There was just us and one other couple on the boat. It was a very relaxing way to spend an early evening and we still had time to walk around Old Town after we docked. I let them know ahead of time that we were celebrating a birthday and the crew brought out a cake with candles and lit some sparkler fireworks. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because the food was just “average” and the portions were on the small side. If you go with the attitude that you are paying for the experience of being on a private boat tour at sunset you will not be disappointed. However, if you are a foodie or want a gourmet meal, then stick with one of the many lovely restaurants available in Old Town. We were very pleased with our cruise and it was a lovely way to celebrate a special occasion.

We did the sunset dinner cruise. We were welcomed on board with a cocktail, and the other people on board did not show up so we had the cruise to ourselves. They catered to all of our dietary requirements, and the food was freshly made on board and delicious. The cruise itself was beautiful and the guide on board very helpful, including an impromptu carrot flower making demonstration! I highly recommend this cruise.

Booked this Sunset dinner cruise It is a larger traditional vessel The night we dined there were only two tables in use but looking at the space not much room for more than maybe 4 or5 tables unless they have upstairs Cost was approx $45 Aust dollar each plus drinks While there was enough food was not great for us . The so called dine on Prawns was two small ( room temp) prawns in an egg cup type container The main course was two dishes Two small pieces of fried fish some duck pieces with veggies and a plate of mixed veggies . Not that tasty The cruise up the river is boring Nothing much to see except marshes some river boats but nothing spectacular The party with me loves taking photos of everything and there was none taken In a positive note as usual nice crew and head waiter spoke excellent English and the service was very good and friendly We found it expensive and a pretty boring ride Could easily just take a boat ride no dinner for far less

After several very congenial and prompt emails from Cinnamon Cruises in Hoi An, we decided to take the day tour to Cham Island this past Sunday. The weather was beautiful, but the tour itself was a waste of time and money. I complained to the Tour company and to date, have not received a reply. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON CINNAMON CRUISES! This is what I wrote to them - and still no reply:

Dear Phuoc,

I am writing to tell you that we were disappointed with the tour to Cham Island that we purchased yesterday.. There are several complaints:

The Tour completed an hour earlier than we were promised and started close to an hour later than we were promised. We didn't leave for the island until almost 9AM and we were back in Hoi An at 2PM. We were told that we would be back in Da Nang at 4PM but in fact we returned earlier than 3PM. We did not experience the times that you had promised.
Not enough time was spent on the island itself. We walked around the market, the pagoda, the small market, etc for less than 1 hour. This could have lasted longer.
The snorkeling area was not good at all. Nothing much to see, the coral all appeared to be dead and there was very little fish activity. The area chosen to snorkel was too crowded with other boats.
The snorkeling equipment was old and damaged. My mask did not fit and I tried several. No fins were provided.
After lunch, we spent about 1 hour resting and swimming. This could easily have been extended to 2 hours.
The trip back to Hoi An was TERRIBLE. The driver of the boat drove too fast and he paid no attention at all to the comfort and safety of the passengers. Everyone on board was very worried and nervous. There was absolutely no reason for him to drive the way that he did. This is reason alone to never recommend your company for tours to Cham island. Terrible experience - and I know and understand boating. The waves were small, the weather was clear, and there was no sign of any storm coming. The driver of the boat that we were on should never captain a boat again. He should be reported to the local police and Coast Guard and his license revoked immediately. He placed all passengers in danger by the way that he drove.

Went on this as it was well rated. Very disappointing experience. Food was ordinary to say the least, worst feed we have had in Vietnam. Staff if they did speak English barely communicated with us and only 6 of us and another group of 3 on board. Cruise was meant to go to 7pm back by 640pm. Boat sat in neutral for nearly a third of the trip. Cannot recommend to anyone.

Really disappointing!! We where the only people that booked the cruise on this day and we where taken to the markets to look at all the fresh food before being taken to the boat for the cooking class. The whole time was spent being pushed into shops to buy things and no information was give to us about the fresh fruits and vegetables.
Once on the boat it was a nice trip but the whole time including during the cooking lesson I felt humiliated and it was my first time ever in Asia ( and this is my 3rd trip to Vietnam) that I felt made fun of because we could not understand the chefs English.
The food was average and we were not invited to make a lot of the food ourselves and were yelled at on numerous occasions because we did not roll the rice papers correctly etc.
I wood suggest finding another cruise or make sure there Are other people that have booked the boat first.

My partner and I booked this dinner cruise for our last night in Vietnam. Lucky for us, no one else booked on the night so it was just my partner and I on the boat, enjoying some delicious food and a relaxing 2 hour sunset cruise up the river into Old Town. For USD $70 (drinks not included, but very cheap), my partner and I had a 4-5 course meal which was fantastic. The boat was clean, and very pleasant to be on. Our host, Ha, was amazing. We chatted with him all night and he was a great host. Even if the booked had other passengers on it, it still would of been a fantastic experience and a great way to end our trip!

Fantastic atmosphere, the absolute best of attentive service, delicious food and great cocktails. Then they provided water lanterns to release to complete the romance of the evening. What more can I say. Easy to book direct with the family that own and run the boat, just see them when they are tied up at the waterside. Very clean bathroom on board. A must to do when in Hoi An

This spur of the moment decision was one we were so glad we made.

We were greeted with a complimentary drink and dinner was served as the sun went down and the lights of Hoi An reflected in the water.

The food was very good and the crew very attentive without 'hovering'.

On our return we were able to light lucky/memory candles which we lowered into the water from the deck and watched them 'sail' away. A lovely poignant moment in the silence and moonlight.

When we docked we were 150% happy with every aspect of Cinnamon Cruises Dinner Cruise, the service, ambience, food, exceptional photo moments and cost. Would highly recommend.
