We had booked a “farmer and fisherman tour” and had the most pleasant day.

Visit where we grow herbs, cabbage, salad etc.
Further on a bike ride to the boat, which took us on an experience around the water.
Fishing, dancing, show, tour in coconut boats, braided animals and helmets, and delicious lunch.

Bores boys at 7 and 10, think it was exciting and fun.

Thanks to Viet, Jap and all the other go’e men who gave us a fantastic experience..

Farm & Fishing Tour….. not all it seemed, group of 8, 4 cycling and 4 in the Tour Bus, well it was a great bike ride cutting through all the farmers plots and talking through a typical day with a lovely lady farmer of 78 !! We then joined a boat to take us out and show us how the local fishermen caught their fish…. Might all sound a bit dull but we got involved in everything and then went out on bamboo boats after a display by the boat crew which was hilarious and amazing, through banana trees in the water. We were then treated to a fabulous 3 course lunch cooked on board the boat, these guys were something else ! Then they gave us a show in costume to finish off our tour.
We then climbed aboard our ride home in a minibus with massage seats ….. I kid you not !!
This is a tour not to be missed 👍🏻

My girlfriend and I did the rice farming tour/experience with Jack Tran Tours and it was epic. We were picked up in the coolest bus with massage chairs from the hotel (only one in Vietnam) and drove to where we would start biking to the farm. Viet, our local tour guide, took us through the rice paddies and explained everything that we asked for. His English was great and he was very knowledgeable of Hoi An, the rice farms and Vietnam as a whole.

We then had a terrific experience at the rice farm with two farmers who authentically seemed to enjoy themselves. After riding the water buffalo, “helping” out on the farm and learning about the various steps one takes, we got to eat and cook a delicious meal at the end.

I highly recommend doing this tour. It was by far the best thing we did on our trip to Vietnam.

We did a small group (8-person) farming and fishing tour with Jack Tran tours when we were in Hoi An, Vietnam in November 2024. Our tour was led by Viet, who was wonderful. He was engaging, fun, and informative throughout our day together. We were picked up at our hotel in a crazy luxury van with seats that reclined and had back massagers! We first went on a bike ride through the rice paddies that was fun and a really nice way to get out of the city and see some of the countryside. We stopped by an organic farm, where we met the 69-year-old farmer and Viet explained the traditional techniques she used to grow her crops, which are now what we call “organic.” We then spent the rest of the day on the water, seeing and getting to try our hand at traditional fishing techniques and learning about the history of the area. Viet grew up in a fishing village nearby and was able to give us a first-hand account of how the area was evolving. The only area for improvement we would suggest would be to get some better bikes. They were not in the best shape, but overall, the day trip was a marvelous experience that we highly recommend.

We had a great morning visiting a local farm to experience rice growing and cooking. We cycled through villages and rice fields for about half an hour. So good to see the countryside and villages.
Win was a great guide telling us all about the local life and answering all our questions. We got to ride a water buffalo, plant rice and then cook and eat delicious food

We enjoyed a really lovely boat tour in the late afternoon, finishing up with delicious on-board spring rolls as the sun set.
We were picked up in a very plush van with a great guide - Viet - who spoke super English and looked after us really well. The boat crew were great, making amazing origami from the local coconut palm leaves and later taking us for a spin (literally!!) in basket boats. We all had a great time - including our 11 & 15 year old
kids!!

If you’re looking for a boating experience just outside of Hoi An away from the crowds this is the one for you! Picked up in a very luxurious bus with massage and recliner chairs we made our way to the big wooden boat for a cruise up the river to where it meets the sea. Our tour guide Win was very knowledgeable as a local who lives in the area, we were able to see fisherman and different types of boats whilst watching the sunset. The Captain and other crew member were also very friendly and welcoming. Great service. Got to tick off the basket boat dancing as seen on instagram and had the option to go rowing in the basket boats also. We were told by travel agent includes dinner however only a snack of spring rolls provided, which were delicious!! Our tour guide was more than happy to take photos for us also. Thank you for this relaxing experience, would highly recommend

We had a wonderful experience with Jack Tran himself taking our tour, which was supposed to be a group tour, but ended up being just my husband and I. We were met promptly at our hotel and rode push bikes through the quiet streets to the organic vegetable gardens where we met local farmers. After a ride on the back of a buffalo and a demonstration of tilling, planting and harvesting, we left our bikes and boarded the boat.
Captain Cook and his mate entertained us with basket boat rowing, origami with palm leaves and fishing songs. We tried our hand at throwing the small, circular fishing net and dropping and raising the large, square net with foot pedals. Lunch was cooked on the boat with fresh greens from the vegetable farm and fish we had caught. A thoroughly enjoyable six hour tour that I highly recommend for visitors wishing for an authentic Vietnamese cultural experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our farming/fishing trip with Jack Tran tours. Our guide Viet was fabulous, very friendly, helpful and very informative with perfect English. We loved visiting the Eco farming village to learn how the people grow organic vegetables sustainably. The boat and fishing trip was also very good and we had a lot of fun in the basket boats, casting the fishing nets and dancing, to bring a good season for the new year. Lunch was plentiful and delicious. The farmer, boat staff and Viet all had a good sense of humour which made the activities such fun. We would highly recommend this tour.
