- carlitosgardelViveiro, Spain3,671 contributionsIncredible show and organizationIncredible show, acrobatics, music, dance, from the first to the last wonderful moment. The perfect organization, both at the entrance and in the placement in the assigned seats, (they do not allow people to change to higher price seats even if they are empty, and they do not allow taking photos or videos. They repeated it ad nauseam and still had than deleting photos from a cell phone) perfect organization, you get what you pay for, there is no option for smartasses or cheeks.Dear Jose, Thank you very much for joining us lately and for sharing your impressions. - Elsa LHong Kong, China173 contributionsAccompanying motherIt mainly uses bamboo to perform many acrobatic performances involving physical strength, balance and teamwork. There are also acrobatics, traditional musical instruments and singing parts interspersed with other props. There is a story to the performance, but it’s a pity that I don’t understand the language otherwise I would be able to understand the meaning better. We had already booked tickets for that night before leaving for Vietnam, and we chose to sit in the first three rows with my mother, who has limited mobility, so that we could enjoy this wonderful performance more clearly.Dear 729elsal, Thank you so much for joining us and for sharing your impressions. - Berenike-Vienna155 contributionsamazing - must see! This was definitely a highlight of our travels in Vietnam. Very young company with huge passion and energy. Not only did they show amazing acrobatics, but the athletes also incorporated actor's and musician's skills into the story. Very high level show, interesting lighting and creative and modern implementation of the narration. I cannot fathom why somebody would be disappointed by such a high quality performance. Must see if you are in Hoi An!Dear Berenike-Vienna, Thank you for joining us and for taking the time to write this wonderful review of your recent experience. - dianedinkyDunfermline, United Kingdom1,358 contributionsVery enjoyable evening with skilled performersIt was a wet old night so I was glad to be indoors to watch the Teh Dar show. I'd seen a few pictures on the website but wasn't sure what to expect. On the night, I didn't really follow the story being told, but no matter as that doesn't detract from the acrobatics. The first 20 minutes had me open-mouthed at the skill level. The second part was more dance orientated but they likely have to do the difficult stuff up front before they are tired! The ability of this team is amazing and lovely that there were just as many women as men in the show. I particularly loved how they worse the masks on the back of their heads and danced with their back to you shaking their bums and hips, very different. Also loved the music. Sometimes I find the singing or music spoils things but this was beautifully performed and complimented the action on stage. Is quite a small venue so I'd say any central seat is ideal no need for top level ticket price. Is also easy to get to as just a short walk by going left after the bridge and past the night market.Dear dianedinky, Thank you for joining us and for taking the time to write this wonderful review of your recent experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening at the Hoi an Lune Center, the theatre is compact so you do not need pay for the more expensive seats, the stage is very close and you have a great view wherever you sit. The performance is full of energy and a lot of skill accompanied by dramatic music. The performance was great, it’s called a circus but it’s more of a stage show with a few acrobatics put in. Really fun to watch!
The seating plan they sell you outside is BS. We paid 500kvnd extra for Centre stage but I would recommend against this option as the venue is small enough that no one missed anything. I would definitely recommend just getting the side stage seats, probably more than 2-3 rows up at least.

Definitely not worth the money and HORRIBLE management, which I will discuss in more detail later.
This show is nothing impressive like the one in the Hoi An Theme Park. It is just a very loud, sometimes annoying clown show with a little acrobatic interludes that sometimes seem chaotic. Using props made from bamboo looks stylish, but does not justify the overpriced tickets.
We attended this show today with our friends and we had our 2 year old boys
there. Since the homepage says that the show is not suitable for children under 5, we had our hotel call us to make sure that we could get tickets with children under 5 at all. We were promised this and one came in for free because it was under 2. our 2 year old got 30% discount.
When the show started everything was okay, but in some places it was very loud due to the music and our little one was a little scared, but quickly calmed down. After about 30 minutes, an employee suddenly came to me and told me to keep our child calm, which internally appalled me. However, after she came to me again 10 minutes later and said that we should tell our friends that they should also keep their child quiet. Also our kids were not crying at all once. They were reacting to the show mostly with joy. I lost my composure. We left the show 20 minutes early and I asked the manager to speak to express my anger and lack of understanding. He showed no insight, and only pointed out that it was the policy of the show.
I then asked him why he confirmed the entry for our children on the phone.
The most ridiculous and incomprehensible to me is that there is continuous laughing during this show and in this case guests are not advised to be silent.
Of course I can understand that there are offers that are not suitable for small children. however this partly ridiculous, cheesy show is definitely not such an offer. So it really annoys me that we were allowed to pay the entrance fee and then stuff complained about children. I have never experienced anything like this in 7 years of living in Asia. Sad in all cases!

Dear lulstantin,
First and foremost, we thank you very much for joining our show and for sharing your feedback. We are truly sorry to learn that your experience was not as enjoyable as it should be. We completely understand your frustration and disappointment.
According to our children age restriction, to avoid distraction for performers and audiences, we can only let children above 5 year-old in. In some certain cases, we flexibly agree to let younger children in so they can join the performance with their parents. But we also require parents' cooperation in keeping their children calm and allow us to escort their children out if they are being disruptive. One thing we assure that our guests are well-informed about this before they decide to buy tickets and your case was not an exception.
Apologies if our regulation annoys you but we have to make sure they are being followed properly to maintain the standard of our service. Our utmost important mission is to deliver a great experience to our guests but unfortunately this time we were average through your eyes.
Thank you so much for taking the time to bring this to our attention. Only through constructive feedback as yours that we are able to maintain and indeed, where necessary, improve upon the service that we provide to our valued guests.
Kind regards,
Lune Production Team

It is a shame to say the show was average, as all things leading up to it looked promising. The beautiful bamboo dome, ticket service, welcome drinks and talented performers. Tickets were expensive but we felt it was worth a try with all the glowing reviews online. For us, the show's story line felt flat and disjointed, and choreography could have been better. I would recommend checking out other things in Hoi An if you have limited time to explore.

Dear 89nickiey,
Thank you very much for sharing your feedback which is highly appreciated. We are so glad that you liked the venue and the service on spot.
It disappointed us to learn that the overall show however was not your cup of tea which is uncommon and unfortunate. As the show organizer, we always hope our performances are the ones that every audience enjoys entirely. Nevertheless, we totally understand that our audiences do not share similar personal preferences and expectations. It is such a pity that you could not find the values the performance this time. We truly hope our other shows possibly win your heart. We always aim to deliver a great experience to our guests but unfortunately we were just average through your eyes. Again, thank you so much for taking the time to review. Only through constructive feedback as yours that we are able to maintain and indeed, where necessary, improve upon the quality of the shows that we provide to our valued guests.

Last night we visited and loved every minute of the AO show. Sure, it's not a cheap night out but it's very high quality, visually very clever and the young cast keep you entertained throughout.
The music and vocals are, in my opinion, incredibly emotive of Vietnamese life, past and present.
Personally, I'd rate this as an absolute 'must do' in Hoi An.
Upon writing this review, I've been surprised to read some others comments, particularly regarding children and the suggestion that this is pantomime style.
Firstly, the show isn't circus. It's theatre, with juggling, mime and acrobatics. The narrative takes you from traditional rural life in Vietnam to the more modern urban. Anything verbal or sung is in Vietnamese to a largely visiting audience and so the humour does sometimes stray into OTT facial expressions but, to me, that's fine. It was funny.
The music and singing are sometimes loud but never, in my opinion, overwhelming the visuals. They only add to the evocative nature of the piece and were of the highest quality.
At our performance the laughter of the children in the audience only added to our enjoyment. How I'd feel about children crying throughout.
My personal view is that this is aimed at an adult audience and that children can also enjoy, not the other way around.

After the utterly charming Water Puppet show in town, we were expecting something a lot more impressive.
I'd emphasise what previous reviews have said - prices are high and there isn't a huge advantage for the premium central seats, go for the cheapest option. The content is a little weird, halfway between acrobatics and ballet and the story is odd without any real explanation to explain to a bunch of Western tourists exactly what is going on. The music is very impressiveand the performers are giving of their best - the odd dropped club etc here and there is subtly glossed over.
Alright - it just isn't exactly Cirque du Soleil.

Dear Geoff C
Thank you for joining our show in Hoi An and for sharing your thoughts which we highly appreciate.
Glad to know that the music impressed you.
We are sorry to learn that you could not found the core values of the performance and did not get the message implied. The show depicts the charming beauty and cultural richness of Vietnamese life in the countryside, in contrast with the nation’s racing urbanization. The purpose is to deliver part of Vietnamese culture to audiences using the combination of acrobatic and ballet movements, not to tell a story on stage so it is understandable that you might feel lost sometimes.
We thank you again for sharing your feedback which we certainly will use it for further improvements. It is pity that the show was not your cup of tea but hopefully our other performances would win your heart.
Kind regards,
Lune Production Team

We were told about the bamboo show by a tour guide and went on our last night in Hoi An. It was a great way to finish a wonderful few days and I'd highly recommend it. The show is a mixture of acrobatics, music and humour and I think a wide range of ages would enjoy it. It was more expensive than other shows we saw in Vietnam but well worth it.

Went here New Year’s Day to see the a O show… Outstanding show, performer is all very youthful and acrobatic… Show lasts a little more than an hour and the entire cast is very engaging and fun. Without question the best show we’ve seen in our three weeks in Southeast Asia. Well worth the money, be sure to reserve your tickets in advance!

We stayed 16 nights in Hoi An, so this allowed us to choose a night with the best available seats in the cheapest price category. We booked on the venue’s website, seats E8 and E10 on the right-hand side. They were at the same level as the WOW category of seating (the most expensive), and only separated by 2 metres for the open stairway. The show was fantastic, very talented acrobats, dancers, and musicians. We highly recommend the show.

A magnificent bamboo structure that is illuminated in the evening. WE were dining at a restaurant near the Lune Center when we saw the audience leaving after the performance so we decided to get tickets for the following evening. Unfortunately when we went to purchase tickets there was not a performance scheduled for a few days. Such a pity, so i suggest this is where you head to as soon as you arrive in Hoi An, and hopefully there will be a performance during your visit

First of all, I would say that the show was great.
Unfortunately the experience around it was very disappointing. We wanted to go to the show the same day but there were limited seats showing online as available. Our hotel concierge helped book and I was assured that the 'ahh!' seats would be good. We were also told that children under five were free if they sat on your lap. When the lady at the hotel tried to book she was told that we would need to pay for our four year old as it was 'so busy'.
When we sat down for the show, the view was partially blocked for three of our seats (Row I, Seat 7,5 and 3). The place was one third full and whole rows of other seats, in the same price category, were empty. As the show started my Husband and seven year old moved to the seats directly behind. Within two minutes a woman was there telling them to move back to the seats we had booked. My husband tried to explain that the view was blocked and that it was the same price category and that our son could not see the stage properly. She then Aggressively insisted that they move and stood nearby the rest of the show to make sure they didn't move back.
At the end of the show we left feeling very frustrated, especially as I had specifically asked when we arrived about the view from the seats. We would have tried to changed them and paid more but everyone insisted that the view was great from ANY seat.

Dear McGrey18,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your recent visit to our show. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the performance. However, we apologize for the disappointing experience you had surrounding it.
We understand that you had some concerns regarding the seating arrangements and the view from the "ahh!" seats. Please note that the "ahh!" zone is priced lower compared to other zones precisely because the view from those seats can be partially blocked. We strive to provide a variety of seating options to accommodate different preferences and budgets. Our staff is trained to ensure that guests are seated in their assigned locations to maintain fairness and order, as the empty seats might have been purchased and the guest would come later, and we apologize for any frustration caused.
We also apologize for any miscommunication regarding the policy for children under five. As we don't recommend children under five to the show because the sound and lighting might not suitable for them. However, if parents still wish to attend with their child, they would need to purchase tickets and only toddlers are allowed to sit on the lap of the parent free of charge, but have to leave if they cry or make noises.
We appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration as we continually strive to improve our guests' experiences. Thank you once again for bringing these matters to our attention, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused.
Kind regards,

For those who have seen the show, where do you think the best seating is in the theater? We will have two kids 8 & 10 so it would be nice to be on a step higher than the row in front of us so they can see.

It is a small theatre - all seats are good.
There is no need to pay for the most expensive seats. We bought the cheapest and still had a fantastic time.

Is there a discount for a small group? We are travelling with a group of friends, at some times there are 7 of us, at others there is 10.
Written August 16, 2019
No, no discount. The Center doesn't really want to encourage large groups, maximum purchase is 10 tickets.

Thank you for your question. The show starts at 6:00PM and ends at 7:00PM. You'd better arrive at 5:30PM to enjoy drink before the show.
