Ha was one of the best tour guides we ever had! He took an extremely personal approach to our tour, and showed us some incredible local spots. Everything we ate and drank was delicious and we also learned a lot about Hoi An. Ha was wonderful and so easy to talk to! He clearly cares a lot about the city and everyone who comes on his tours.

Jay is an incredible and knowledgeable guide. He is born and bred in the ancient city so knows every nook and cranny. The tour was personal and personalised. When hearing I had already tried some items Jay had a host of interesting local foods and spots lined up to take me to. He is funny and wonderful company. Having had such a good time I asked if Jay would be able to take me to My Son Temple Complex. If I thought he was brilliant before he exceeded my expectations with the sunrise motorbike trip to My Son. I can not recommend this tour and his services highly enough. Thank you Jay. Especially travelling alone or in a small groups it’s hard to find one on one tours. Jay has built his whole business around making sure that he can give one on one personalised experiences and it really just makes the difference. Can’t wait to come back and have Jay show me more of his incredible home.

Our tour guide, Hai, picked us up from our hotel in a hotel shuttle and took us to the edge of the old town in Son Phong area, for our first taste of the local food. The first was a street vendor with Banh Khot, a tiny egg pancake filled with shrimp, served with greens and pieces of pork. The next stop was in Tan An, in a lane where the modest little restaurant served Banh Beo, steamed rice cakes with shrimp paste and topped with strips of fried pork skin. Another street vendor, in Minh An opposite the the Catholic church, sold us Che Me Den - Black Sesame soup - a strange, sweet, but unattractive cold dessert. Then in Cam Pho we we stopped for Cao Lau, Hoi An's signature dish - fat rice noodles, slices of barbecued pork, pork crackling, bean shoots, greens and soup stock. These noodles must be made with water from the Ba Le Well, the town's original water supply, which Hai also took us to see. After a walk through Tran Phu street, the main street full of interesting temples, shops and old houses, we stopped briefly at the market for some White Rose dumplings and something that looked like Vietnamese style nachos. Eventually we ended up at another small family restaurant not far from the Japanese Bridge that served what Hai called Vietnamese pizza! It was really Banh Trang Nuong, a rice paper circle covered in quail egg, dried shrimp, ground pork and spring onions, then topped with greens, chili, cucumber, sprouts or whatever, rolled up and dipped in fish sauce. It was a long and very filling 'progressive dinner' and a great experience to do when visiting Hoi An. We would never have discovered some of these places and dishes if it wasn't for Hai's guidance.

Ha, our guide, gave us a unique off the beaten path experience. He is a wonderful man and made the experience all the more fun. Our first day we did the walking food tour, visiting many local vendors to try local "Hoi An" noodles, amazing Banh Mi, lotus ice tea, and more. We were able to see the heart of Hoi An while trying 10+ local dishes. Our second day we did a bike tour visiting many local homes -- a rice wine maker, mat weaver, noodle maker, and coconut boat ride. It was a great way to see local life! Our third day we got up early to do a motorbike tour. I was very nervous getting on one, but quickly became comfortable. This was by far my favorite day! We rode into the countryside to see local fish markets, the most amazing coffee shop, and a local farm. We met the lady who tended to the farm and were even able to help her plant. If you are ever in Hoi An, I highly reccommend Hoi An private tour guides!
