We booked a day trip on short notice and our guide, Ben, was quick to respond via WhatsApp. The trip took us to Marble Mountain, Hai Van Pass & Blue Lagoon. Our personal highlights were: the coffee stop at Hai Van Pass with the fantastic views of the bay, the Monkey Mountain and Da Nang - the scenic winding ride along the pass and the refreshing swim in a secluded natural mountain river pool. Sadly there was a power outage at hell cave in Marble Mountain
That was beyond Ben’s control but he was quick to compensate for this missing part with an adjusted itinerary so we still got our trips worth of experience.

Ben’s English communication is fantastic, he is attentive to details and has good knowledge to share about local history, he also has a great sense of humor and can help take nice ‘instagramable’ memorable pictures, car was comfortable and clean and they took care of us very well. We can warmly recommend ‘Local Buddy Tours’ and Ben specifically for English speaking visitors.

Wow what an amazing day trip

Ba Na Hills in a cable cart to height 1487 feet. The cable cart was a real pleasure, just when you thought you were at the top of the mountain, there was another, then another, then another and made on an impressive infrastructure. It took you above the clouds. The views were mesmerising and takes your breath away. Once at the top you entered into a theme park, with beautiful gardens, temples and statues everywhere. One of the main attractions is the impressive Golden bridge supported by a pair of hands.
The admission fee is expensive which made this private trip to be not cheap, but I can honestly say it was well worth the costs and didn’t disappoint. So much to do and see you can easily fill your time.
I would highly recommend this trip to anyone and if you can afford it then don’t hesitate to go.

Fascinating tour, perfect guide, beautiful scenery and professional, smooth experience

I had an amazing tour with our guide, Ben. The tour started right on time and started off with a fascinating tour to the Marble Mountains where we explored the remarkable caves, carved marble statues and panoramic views over Da Nang. Cloaked in lush, dense tropical jungle, the Marble Mountains are not to be missed. We then headed to the wild Monkey Mountains, which were even more wild and beautiful. And, of course, we saw plenty of the region’s star attractions—monkeys. To top off a perfect tour, we enjoyed a delicious, traditional Vietnamese lunch. This tour was the highlight of my trip to Vietnam. Ben was wonderfully friendly, knowledgeable about everything and spoke perfect English. I will be back!

Amazing views

Our Daughter booked this tour for us as a surprise, as we had both used local buddy tours to visit marble mountain on our previous visit to Hoi An and had such a great time. Pickup by Thanh was on time and we set of early to see the Ba Na hills and golden bridge. Our transport was a very comfortable air conditioned car that took us through the countryside villages up to the mountains , stopping on the way at a local cafe for a traditional breakfast that was delicious. The Ba Na mountains are amazing and our guide Thanh was very knowledgeable about its history. The main attraction here is a theme park that is a combination of amazing views , The golden bridge, history , beautiful gardens , entertainment, rides and one of the highest longest cable car rides I have ever been on . We loved the beauty and history but being older were not interested in the rides , so Thanh took us back into Hoi An for a relaxing riverboat ride, finishing with a late lunch overlooking the river . I recommend local buddy tour because of their excellent local knowledge, English speaking guides and willingness to adapt a tour to suit the customer .

Hoi An to Hue Jeep Tour via Hai Van Pass

From our first email exchange through the final drop off at our hotel Local Buddy Tours was professional, responsive, and helpful! They worked with us to create a custom Jeep tour including special food to accommodate a food allergy.
Ben was a wonderful guide, answering all our questions along the route and pointing out interesting sites and historical info. He made sure we took the path less traveled and avoided the highway. Absolutely stunning views and a great time all around. Highly recommend!!

Our Best Day in Da Nang

Easily the best tour we’ve been on. Our guide thanh was super knowledgeable and brought us to see the unseen beauty of Da Nang and the Hai Van Pass. We enjoyed every part of the tour and would strongly recommend it to people visiting da nang!

Excellent tours

We (family of 5 adults) spent 3 wonderful days with Thanh, Ben and Tu and enjoyed every minute of it. They all are very friendly and made everything to keep us happy and succeeded in that very well, not to forget their great sense of humour. We really felt like they were our friends rather than just tour guides doing their job.

Day 1: we drove through Hai van pass (very nice views) and then continued to the Imperial city in Hue. Stopped also by Thien Mu pagoda and the tomb of Khai Dinh emperor. During those visits Thanh gave us also a very good overview to the history of Vietnam. Excellent day for anyone who wants to see historical sites and learn about the history of Vietnam from Vietnamese point of view. Thanks Thanh!

Day 2: Marble mountain with wonderful caves, Linh Ung pagoda, Lady Buddha and Cham museum. Very good way to get an introduction to different religions, their history and influence to the lives of local people hundreds of years ago and today. Also visited Monkey mountain and managed to see a few monkeys climbing free. Cool. Thanks Ben!

Day 3: Bike tour to see local villages, round basket boat ride, water buffalo ride and a cooking class in a local vegetable village. A fantastic way to learn about the local culture in the country side today. Thanks Tu!

All 3 of out local buddies were really present all the time and made sure we got excellent tasty clean food in all places we visited. They also took care of our safety while cycling (thanks for a friendly lady who joined us for the cycling tour to make sure we crossed all busy roads in a safe manner), while driving (no rushing or dangerous moves) and while on the boat (life vests etc). They also took a lot of pictures of us without asking and shared them afterwards. Between the days and also afterwards they were well available for questions in WhatsApp. All in all really great service which felt more like friendship and caring rather than delivering a tour service.

I think it would be completely stupid to join a crowded bus tour if you can get all this with a little extra money.

I highly recommend Local Buddies Thanh, Ben and Tu. Hope to see them again some day!

Marble Mountain & Hai Van Pass by US Army Jeep

We had the pleasure of doing this tour with Vu the driver and Ben.. They both made the experience 10 times better with their knowledge, kindness and craic!
Our guide Ben was outstanding from pickup to finish, with his photo expertise, funny jokes and “good looks” he made sure we waisted no time and fitted in all the best parts.
He even stopped along the way for a photo at the love bridge which wasn’t included in the tour!
We had a beautiful lunch and fab coffee with a view..
Had the best day and enjoyed every minute!
Would definitely recommend this tour, well worth the money.. Thanks again!

Best private jeep drive!

My friend and I booked the private army jeep tour from Hue to Danang. Thanh and our driver were fantastic. We wanted to take the off beaten path to see more of the countryside since we had already done Hai Van pass and the lagoon on a previous drive. Thanh provided a lot of interesting history and details of the region, making the drive a lot of fun despite the rainy weather. They even brought us to a local market in Hoi An so we could stock up on necessities in preparation for Typhoon Noru. Don't hesitate booking with Local Buddy Tours!

Simple but GREAT

We visited Hội An countryside on a Jeep, it was a very enjoyable experience. We spend 5h visiting local families who make rice papers, sedge mat, and so on. We had a wonderful break in a unforgettable coffee shop. Then we went on a characteristic boat and finally we rode on a water buffalo 🐃
For all the ages, reasonable price, great tour guide, 10 out of 10!!! 🔝
