Quite Unique
Feb 2020
The cooking lesson in which we participated can only be compared, to me, with such classes in New Orleans. There was much fun and fanfare involved as well as the opportunity to cook some Vietnamese Dishes. This should be on everyone's list when visiting the area.

Great Acitivity
Mar 2020
I was looking to do a cooking class in Hoi An and my sister who was in Vietnam a few years ago recommended Waterwheel. This is a family owned/operated family farm that truly was a great experience. I did the 3:1 experience with a friend and it started with a wonderful scenic bike ride in the town and a tour of the local market that was very informative. Then we took a further bike ride into the scenic countryside and met the buffalo and took a quick ride on the buffalo if we wanted to (just down an back on a field). After we did a small tour on in the water baskets that was relaxing and nice. Afterwards we went to the Waterwheel house, learned farming briefly, learned/made rice paper and then made some food during the cooking experience. It was a full packed tour but very informative and great! After cooking there was a lot of downtime (probably could make less downtime and end experience a little earlier) prior to a quick foot massage and then a return bike ride back to our hotel. Overall a great excursion that I would highly recommend!

So wonderful
Nov 2019
We did the cooking class which included a little farming lesson, which was very fun. It was my husband and I ando our 30 year old daughter. The visit also included a foot massage which was fine. We made several dishes which were delicious and included shrimp and chicken and some greens. We were also taught how to make the thin pancakes this area is famous for. The staff was lovely and we were given the recipes for what we made. We were met with welcome drinks which were refreshing and bottled water as well. It was a lovely setting and very clean. We ate everything and had no problems, although we ate a lot!! I hope to come back to this beautiful area of Vietnam and visit Tra Que Water Wheel again. This was a must do in and around Hoi An.

Cooking (and eating) fun!
Feb 2020
The Water Wheel family treated us as if we were relatives. Not being much of a cook or joiner, I didn't expect much from the cooking activities, but Mr. Hoang and his sisters were so engaging I couldn't resist. And learned so much. Wish cooking could always be this much fun, and the results as delicious. Thank you, Water Wheel family. Hope everyone visiting beautiful Hoi An comes to enjoy you and your farm!

An Excellent Morning
My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the cooking class & tour. They really offer a lot of value to this, and you can see they take a lot of pride in their farm and classes. Highly recommend.

Exceptional Cooking Class !
Feb 2020 • Couples
It was one of the best memories of our trip in Vietnam! The market tour was very wonderful, we discover all the vegetables, fruit fish and meat and all the local practices. The exceptional environment, lost in the rice-field just amazing ! And the cooking class was the best of our life ! Go there absolutely!!!

Biked around the island on a perfect day

We explored this village on our bikes one day. Didn't have a cooking class but chatted to some people who did and really enjoyed it. We bought some seeds based on a recommendation from Xoai restaurant which also uses their veggies.

An amazing day!
Feb 2020
Our wonderful Tra Que experience included a bike ride, organic farming, rice paper making, a cooking class, and a delicious lunch-- But what made this experience really special was the amazing family who runs this little farm and business- I believe it's one brother and 9 or 10 sisters. They were welcoming, knowledgeable, and very funny. It was one of our best days in Vietnam (and we had many amazing days there)! An experience not to be missed.

Best cooking class in Hoi An!

We cooked some delicious dishes together with Xuan and had a lot of laughs while cooking. Xuan and her sisters are very kind and funny and their place is situated in the beautiful vegetable garden. A big plus is they speak english very well!
