    Great family adventure
Our family did the Real Hoi An experience tour and it was fantastic. Kun was our host and was very knowledgeable and able to answer our questions and was great with the kids. We started off with a market tour and selected some fruit, then when on a basket boat ride where we caught crabs. Next stop was a ride on a water buffalo and then a veggie farm tour where we planted some veggies and learned about herbs. Then we did a cooking class which included making rice paper and then a delicious lunch including what we made and some other items made by the kitchen. We didn’t ride bikes at our request, but you can. This was a fantastic tour for kids, ours which were 6 and 8 yo loved it. Thanks for a wonderful day! Recommend!!

    Hidden Gem of Hoi An!!
Tra Que Water Wheel was part of our fantastic private tour of Vietnam organised by Vivu Travel. One of the few things added to the itinerary by Vivu without a request from us, we had no idea what to expect? When we woke to find it raining we resigned ourselves to a miserable waste of a day. How wrong we were. In fact it was one of the best days of our tour! On arrival we had a lovely welcome drink, then donned our farmer's shirt, cone hat and rain poncho. Out to the fields we went. After a brief demonstration, we planted a small crop of herbs, then "watered" the crops (it was pouring rain at the time haha). We took a walk around with our guide who taught us the history of the area and showed us many of the different varieties of vegetables, herbs and spices grown in the gardens. After a quick visit to a local lantern maker, we headed back to the farm house. After a nice relaxing foot and shoulder massage, we swapped Farmer's garb for Chef's aprons. We started off learning how to make Rice Flour and then made steamed Rice Flour cakes. Delicious!! Next up was Spring Rolls and then my favorite, Bánh Xèo! After the cooking class we ate the afore mentioned dishes as part of a delicious lunch featuring a few more traditional dishes. After lunch the rain had eased so we took the opportunity to go and ride the Water Buffalo and take a ride in a Basket boat on the river. All in all, a fantastic day and one we will not forget in a hurry.

    3 in 1 Waterwheel day.
A very good day spent with Kun. Started with a bike ride to the markets then a ride in a basket boat before heading back to the farm to learn about traditional farming methods. We then went on to the cooking class where we learned to cook 3 dishes including making rice paper. We were also introduced to a buffalo on the way home but none of us were up to a ride. Worth the day I would recommend it to anyone.

    Great setting— great food—brilliant service
We have visited the restaurant as part of our tour, so it was selected by the tour company. We are thankful that they did. The restaurant is located in the gear of a eco friendly herb village. The setting is nice, the food is prepared with care and a service was brilliant. I don’t think we met a nicer server than Tiên ( the fairy) and that is much to say for we had met with some fantastic servers throughout our trip in Vietnam.

We did the hoi an experience with our Guide Khun. We went to the market and she explained about the fruits and the vegetables and even bought some fruits which we never tried before so we could try them 😊 We enjoyed the boat and the buffalo ride and the farming was also quite informative and interesting. The cooking class was also really nice but we would have prefered little less entertainment. The food we cooked and we got even more food was delicious.

We did the cooking class which included a little farming lesson, which was very fun. It was my husband and I ando our 30 year old daughter. The visit also included a foot massage which was fine. We made several dishes which were delicious and included shrimp and chicken and some greens. We were also taught how to make the thin pancakes this area is famous for. The staff was lovely and we were given the recipes for what we made. We were met with welcome drinks which were refreshing and bottled water as well. It was a lovely setting and very clean. We ate everything and had no problems, although we ate a lot!! I hope to come back to this beautiful area of Vietnam and visit Tra Que Water Wheel again. This was a must do in and around Hoi An.

This was the most fun we had, during our 3 weeks in Vietnam. We biked, had a cooking class and ate the most delicious food. We made our own rice pancakes, sailed in a bamboo boat and had a massage. Mr Vu and his family are excellent hosts. They are funny and kind and their English is good. Thank you for a great day, Mr Vu!

I can totally recommend the cooking class! Food is organic from own garden and the cooking class is very funny! The food was delicious, also for vegetarian! Our cook Ha picked us up from hotel and was with us on the market for buying the ingredients. She told us many facts about the fruits and herbs. Additional there were a foot massage included! We also got a certificate for remembering and the receipts! AWESOME 👏

I was amazed by this little family run business. The workers are so friendly, have a sense of humour and enthusiasm I have never seen in my 4 years living in Vietnam. I found this place through a tour company (Asian Motion) when we came with students from school. I knew I had to bring my family back when we returned for a holiday and it was a hit. Farming, cooking class, rice paper making, a massage, round boat ride and water buffalo was all so much fun. The food was amazing too and the owner is very flexible and happy to accommodate request. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

This was one of our best days out in Vietnam. I would highly recommend visiting here. Staff were super friendly and looked after us and the day was really hands on. Beautiful riding the bikes through the farm to the market.

My family of 3 did an afternoon farm and food experience at Tra Que. It was a nice break from the rest of the hustle and bustle of Hoi An. With Vu (and his local farmer colleague) we planted some herbs, paddled a round boat and rode a water buffalo. Then he turned us over to his sister Jessica where we got a massage, made rice paper (very cool!) and then cooked a couple of dishes (lots of fun) before eating a late lunch. While we did a lot, it didn't feel too rushed. And we had lots of laughs doing the cooking.
