Never in a 100 years would I have gone to a cooking class in Viet Nam, but this was on an excursion we were doing with a group of people. However, I am so glad we did. The tour of the market, the learning about herbs, spices and vegetables, meeting our teacher, Moon, looking at a whole series of cooking... More

We had an excellent time at the morning cooking school before enjoying lunch. The tour started with a boat trip to the local market followed by a tour of the kitchen with the opportunity to sample local delicacies before learning how to cook 4 dishes - a great experience!

We had the option of doing another cooking school or Mrs. Vy's but the latter had more time options which gave us more opportunity to pursue other activities in Hoi An. It is quite a large establishment and you are broken up into groups of 6 and go to various stations to make some food, view how some foods are... More

We arrived around 9am at the local food market, which was not 'staged' and actually in use by locals. Our guide, Daisy, spoke really good English and was patient and informative with our group, which was of all ages. The boat ride back to the Market restaurant was a lovely experience. Once at the restaurant we, we toured the 'market',... More

Though not the cheapest one, this is a very nice restaurant, trying to imitate the nightmarket's atmosphere in an upscale way. The fried calamares is delicious, so is the roasted duck with crispy noodles and the stingray. Avoid the hotpot, there are better places to try that one out. Another plus, the dishes look exactly as presented on the menu... More

Had an excellent dinner at the Vy's market restaurant on the evening of the Full Moon Festival. The restaurant was like a food court with many Vietnamese dishes to choose from. Service was very friendly and attentive. It was very busy during the Full Moon Festival and we were were lucky to get a table as someone was willing to... More

We did the 5 hour class which included a boat trip to the market and 4 cooking courses. We had an excellent guide (Tam) to take us around the market and show us how to spot fresh fruit, vegetables and meat. Our cooking class itself was held by Moon, a very skilful and helpful lady who showed us some traditional... More

We really wanted to do a cooking course but given our schedule and the heat we really didn't want to a 5-7 hour one. Vys market has one for 2 hours which was perfect. We got to try a ton of specialty foods I wouldn't have tasted otherwise and partake in some awesome cooking. The food was excellent and we... More

The wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this 2 hour cooking experience after spending time careering around the town and surrounds on dodgy bicycles. Difficulty level is that of a beginner, but you end up creating something tasty and impressive. Highly recommended.

We were given the 'Street Food & Cooking Class Tour' as part of our Maison Vy Privileges package. We are a family with 2 teenagers. It was a lot of fun & was a great way to try all the wonderful Vietnamese foods. We tried foods we would not have been brave enough to try on the street, nor known what they... More
