Morning Small group to Marble Mountains - Am Phu Cave - Monkey Mountain

64 reviews
Exploring exotic scenes of Nature and Human

Marble Moutain is well-known as the most beautiful site not only among Vietnamese but also tourists. It carries an amazing value of combination between many mable and limestone caves.

Monkey Mountain should be on religion/culture lovers’ checklist. Many exciting stories of history and culture based on Buddhism have been told when visiting this place. You could also see the giant statue of Laddy Buddha which set a new record in height.

This was a very well-run program, introducing us to the various foods they serve with a tour of the food preparation areas, and then a visit to the local market where they procure their fresh fruits and vegetables. Upon return to the restaurant our chef, Bao, brought our group of three into our "kitchen classroom" and had us prepare a variety of dishes under his direction. We finished our class with lunch, consuming what each of us had prepared. It was a great experience, where we learned a lot and had a great time. It was very obvious that this is a well thought out program, designed to educate and entertain. It succeeds on every level. And our chef, Bao, was terrific. He was very skilled in his job, and made this a very memorable experience for us.

I have taken part in quite a few cookery classes while on holiday and this was a nice introduction to Vietnamese food. We were unfortunately unable to go to market due to the covid-19 outbreak, however I felt this didn’t take away from the experience. It was a nice touch to go round each of the stations in the restaurant sampling different delicacies (such as banh mi, white rose dumplings and min banh xao) t also learning how they make different ingredients such as rice noodles and dumplings. We made 4 dishes including the famous banh xao. There were around 12 people in the class with 1 teacher so it may have been helpful to have an assistant on hand helping those who had fallen a little behind and were missing the following on instructions as the pace was quite quick for some dishes. Everything we ate was delicious and we also got all the recipes plus a free mango peeler. We also ended up returning to eat in the restaurant a couple of days later.

Tried the restaurant and it was lovely, sitting out watching everyone go by, staff reserved best table for us which was very kind. Food was excellent although their other restaurant Morning Glory is even better a must go to....The cookery school was absolutely great, a morning going to local market then learning to cook several dishes in their lovely modern and well equipped school above the restaurant. Well worth it

This class was above and beyond my expectations. The whole experience was run a very well oiled machine - super well organized. It was a good introduction to Vietnamese food & culture - from the boat ride, to the market tour, to trying the weird & wonderful delicacies, to the actual cooking class. At first we thought that 5 hours was going to be quite intense, but the time really flew by! We took the "Holiday Masterclass" and I can't wait to make the "mother-in-law" soup for my in-laws.

Great fun visiting the market with our fun guide Tri Saw lots of fruit and herbs that are not widely available in the UK The restaurant is on several levels and local dishes can be sampled on the ground floor. The cooking class takes place on the top floor with equipment for everyone and plentiful fresh ingredients. Ms Moon is a great teacher and we were all delighted with the dishes she helped us produce.
