Hands on journey into the taste of Vietnam
Followed yesterday's cooking class. Had a very good experience! The recipes were fun and challenging enough for a wide audience. The place was beautiful, market tour was interesting and learned a lot of new things about Vietnamese cuisine. In short; recommended!

One of the best days in Vietnam!
Had one of the best days of our time in Vietnam at the Red Bridge. If you are looking for a less touristy class which gives you an in-depth insight in the Vietnamese kitchen, you should do the deluxe class. Had an absolute blast and the food was amazing.

Tasty Way to Spend Half Day
We did the half day cooking class yesterday and it was really enjoyable. The staff are friendly and helpful and you cook and eat so much food. You are cooking outside, but under a full roof so you're not in the sun, and the dish is demonstrated first, then you go and cook it. We really enjoyed it and will try to replicate some of the dishes back in England - especially the rice wrap cooked over steam.

Red Bridge Cooking School Half Day Tour
This July, we attended a local market tour, cooking class & then dined at Red Bridge Cooking School & Restaurant. The experience was fabulous. Our instructor, Chef Chinh was amazing. She made the day. Knowledgeable and a great instructor, she toured us through the local Hoi A central market, we took a boat ride down the fishing channel, then she toured us through the Red Bridge Cooking School Herb & Ingredients Garden, prior to demonstrating and coaching us through 6+ local dishes. Thank you Chinh (& her sous chef S) for the fabulous recipes & fun day. We will definitely be trying these techniques & local spices again at home!

Amazing cooking class in Hoi An
Incredible experience, and incredible value for money! We highly recommend the Red Bridge Cooking School. We learned a lot in the cooking class, and the (very affordable) fee also includes a market tour, boat ride to the cooking school and transportation back to town, and a welcome drink and delicious meal. We can't wait to try to make some of these dishes at home!

    Delightful!
Absolutely brilliant experience from start to finish, much enjoyed by our whole family. The market tour was great and our guide Ruby was lovely, she shared many insights into local foods. A tranquil boat ride along the river brought us to a secluded tropical paradise. The cooking demonstrations were easy to follow with Luna adding much humour. Cooking and eating our delicious meal was a real treat. Highly recommend!

    Awesome!
My family and I had the perfect holiday! We actually stayed in the villa and it was a beautiful serene getaway for us. We had a private pool and the sounds from chicken farm next to us was a wonderful wake up call 😜 The restaurant serves very tasty local cuisine all made with fresh ingredients and the cooking school was very well organised and informative. My teacher was patient and we had a good laugh! The dishes were delicious! Would highly recommend staying at red bridge villa and experiencing all the place has to offer

Outstanding cooking experience to do in Vietnam.
An outstanding, professional cooking experience. On arrival at the initial venue we were warmly welcomed, offered a refreshing lemon drink in a cool environment. We were broken into smaller groups to shop at the market so this was an informative experience. All aspects of the cooking process were demonstrated first and then there was an abundance of staff to support you if needed. The food was absolutely delicious and you walked away with all the recipes that you had made. It was one of our highlight tours in our 3 week holiday in Vietnam.

Truly a rare experience - Red Bridge Cooking School (and Restaurant) in Hoi an, Vietnam
My best friend and I experienced an exceptional cooking class in Hoi an, Vietnam. It is Called Red Bridge Cooking School and Mr. Thanh is the chef and his assistant is Ms. Luna. They were so helpful as they guided us through the local market and explaining and pointing out specific food and spices that are utilized with the Vietnam diet. Mr. Thanh also, took the time to explain where these items are normally grown and why. Very informative. This aspect was never apart of any cooking classes we had taken before… this really put them over the top!! Mr. Thanh and Miss Luna took safety as a key component in the class. Our class had young folks under 16 and we were working with hot items, this concern and hands on guidance made the class that much more enjoyable . We were shown how to prepare and cook several items, the number one favorite for me was cooking ‘Rice Paper’ from scratch. It was amazing! There were so many ‘First’s’ as it related to the entire experience, I don’t want to spoil it for anyone. If you want to know you have go! I would highly recommend the Red Bridge Cooking School and be sure to ask for Chef Thanh and Miss. Luna, you will Not be disappointed.

Great fun but book a private class if possible.
I will start by saying this is definitely not something I would have chosen to do but our travel agent booked us on it so we went along. Unfortunately we were part of quite a large group and I feel this would have been much better as a private class or a small group but regardless we still had a fun time. We were a little stressed as we were due to check out of our hotel while on the class but the Chef called and spoke to them and sorted out a late checkout for us which was a huge relief and allowed us to relax a bit and enjoy our time here. In hindsight we would definitely do this again but choose a private class next time.

I took the expensive classes and it was disappointing.
We didn't really cooked the food like they said , we "cooked" in group and we waisted lots of time in between.
The tour at the market was waist of time and the guide tried to convince us to buy the things very aggressively.
Also the tour in the spices village wasn't very necessary.
I thought that the long class's will be more time to cook, but they spent our time.
Another thing is that they not very honest about, is the recipes, because they will tell you how to make rice paper at home, but actually if you follow the "recipes" you'll get something very different.
I'll recommend you to find another place

We paid for the advanced deluxe cookery class. It was disappointing and is pretty basic if you are interested in cooking. E.g. It is assumed when you visit the organic herb garden that you don’t know what herbs are like coriander, mint etc. and that you have never seen a farmer plant anything. I didn’t learn anything from this course and could have just picked up a Vietnamese Cookery book. We felt it was expensive for what it was and compared to other things we did in Vietnam.

The kitchen hygiene was questionable when we got to the cookery school. There were flies flying all over the raw squid for the papaya salad. I didn’t eat any of the squid for that reason.

Also a wedding was being ‘rehearsed’ while we were there having our cookery lesson. I assume it was the owner or manager who told us the wedding rehearsal would only last about half an hour. It lasted almost 2 hours and was right in front of our cookery class with wedding party people coming to have a look over our shoulders. It was noisy and disruptive. All in all, a very disappointing experience that I had so been looking forward to as part of our Vietnam trip.

We enjoyed meeting our tour guide Luna who took us around the fresh market place and then we hopped onto a boat to travel to the cooking class. We loved every part of it. Especially our Chef who explained everything clearly and was very funny!!! We loved how he showed us what to do then we got to try it ourselves with the help of the friendly and efficient staff. It was worth every penny spent. It was most enjoyable and the highlight of our trip. Our kids were involved too and loved cooking! I look forward to my kids cooking more at home now. Thanks Red Bridge for a lovely day. The food was delicious and staff were hospitable and the location was beautiful:)

We had an amazing time with the team at Red Bridge Cooking school.
We went for the half day class which included a guided tour of the central market with our very funny lead chef (one of the highlights of my holiday so far) who taught us all about the ingredients we were to use later.
Then there was a beautiful short boat trip down the river to the school itself.
The class was great fun and hands on making several dishes yourself from scratch.
Was fantastic to see the demonstration and ask questions as you go so I feel ready to try this all at home.
You get a printed recipe sheet with all the dishes and a few extra with clear instructions to follow.
We even made our own rice paper and carved decorative vegetable garnishes.
Would highly recommend the class.

Much more and better than the standard cookery course. Everyone meets up in the old quarter and is divided into groups of 6 with a chef/guide. We got lucky and our groups chef was Kinh the main chef. He was brilliant. We were taken the food market where he explained all the various ingredients which we felt and smelt! Then onto the Redbridge boat down the river to their HQ where everyone prepared and cooked three recipes to a script by Kinh (who was not only interesting but also entertaining and humorous). Good fun. Then a good and sociable lunch followed by the pickup/drop off as required.

I cannot say enough good things about Red Bridge Cooking School. The overall experience was great from start to finish. When booking, the staff were very quick to respond to emails. We met at a cafe and had a complimentary welcome drink, then toured the central market of Hoi An. Our guide, Lin, was knowledgeable, funny, and answered all of our questions. She showed us different fruits and vegetables, seafood, meat, etc. and explained how to tell what’s fresh and what isn’t. We walked through the stalls of the market and Lin showed us which products were high quality and which were lower quality. Then we got on a boat that took us to the cooking school.

The cooking school itself was clean, modern, and welcoming. The cooking demonstrations were clear, and there were lots of staff around to help you follow the demonstration. The food was DELICIOUS and there were options for vegetarians (like me).

Overall the staff was great, the food was great, the tour was great. I definitely recommend this to any traveler coming to Hoi An!

A cooking experience that surpassed expectation.
From being met at the Hoi An cafe by the charismatic Head Chef we walked around the real Hoi An market. A cornucopia of fresh food and staples including utensils and gadgets (yes we bought a loads!).
Then a gentle cruise down the river to the cooking school, hidden away in beautiful natural and modern facilities.
The chef then took us through making four dishes, including pancake, fresh rice paper and rice noodle.
We are what we made too - fantastic food and so accessible.
A lot of fun and wonderful team to help.

We did a morning cookery class, arranged through Trailfinders, and it was a great experience. We met our group of about 15 in central Hoi An. We started with a fantastic tour of the local market and then took a boat to the cookery school. After a cool drink and a tour of their market garden the cookery class commenced. The chef did a demonstration of each dish before we attempted to recreate the same (less easy than anticipated in some cases!). At the end of the class we ate what we had cooked, with a couple of additional dishes from the chef. It was all delicious. All in all, a great experience and lots of fun.

This is a must do experience when you are in Hoi An, our guide Sue meant us at our motel for a short walk to the cooking centre and received a welcome drink on arrival before heading off on a walking tour of Hoi An’s colourful main market, lots of sights and smells to take in. We then boarded the Red Bridge for a 25 minute cruise along Hoi A River to the Red Bridge Cooking School. Perfect opportunity to sit and cool down and take in the scenery. Upon arrival at the cooking school you receive a refreshing cocktail then take a stroll through the herb garden before heading to the kitchen where the chefs run through each dish before you go to your cooking station to prepare each dish. Once the class finished you head back to the restaurant and sit down for lunch - which is what you have prepared during the class. We then choose to do a guided walking tour of Hoi An’s Ancient Town in the afternoon 😊

Great afternoon’s activities. Learned much about ingredients, dishes and food freshness from the brief visit to the market with Luna and then a short, boat ride to the cookery school. Detailed recipes were provided whilst we watched amusing, yet skilful demonstrations, again from Luna.
The dishes cooked were delicious!
