Although it was built and rebuilt in different periods, this church is the oldest Catholic religious building in Uruguay, notice the wooden gates from the 1600 period. Wheelchair access assistance is available upon request.

I loved the playful yet worshipful combination of art and spirit in this beautiful building. It is worth taking a few minutes whilst strolling through Colonia just to enjoy a quiet time of repose and pondering.

This Very old Church is not spectacular neither outside nor inside but it has got the charm of a sacred place with a lot of history and struggles. Of course much more Portuguese than Spanish. Worth a quick visit

So beautiful and peaceful in its simplicity . This 200 year old church is a wonderful example of Portguese design. The belltower was restored in 1957.

A normal church that is abundant all around south america. Nothing special in terms of architecture or artwork. But still worth to visit and probably you will end up seeing this building at least twice if you walk around barrio historico.
