    Excellent wines
Excellent tasting of their wines: Viognier, Tannat, Syrah and Blend! We all enjoyed them, accompanied by a platter of cheese and cold meats, a treat! Cost of the tasting: 80 dollars for 2 people. The estate covers 1 hectare and produces some 13,000 bottles annually! Possibility to also sleep on site.

Bodega El Legado, a very interesting adventure!
We didn't stay at the hotel, we just visited the bodega. Very charming and beautiful; country style, none of these wineries with an ultra-modern design. It is a family winery, the children recently took over the management. Everyone was kind and attentive. The wines are great and very good value for money!

    100% recommendable
We went for a weekend with the family and had a great time. It is a small, family-run winery run by its own owners. We did the tour, wine tasting, starter (cold cuts), roast, dessert and coffee. The price is according to what they offer you. We stayed at the winery and it was truly worth it. Very nice rooms, with everything you need and they leave breakfast (very complete) in your room the afternoon before, so as not to bother you in the morning, very good detail. They also have bicycles to use. We were amazed by the surroundings and the peace of the place. I recommend it if you are looking for a quiet environment, I would go again without a doubt.

    Cozy place
Best experience of all!!! You feel like a part of this dear El Legado family! We made lunch with harmonization of the wines! We love! Delicious wines! Federico welcomed us warmly and the dear Bruno, the pet of the house, accompanied us throughout the visit. It's worth it!

We had a wonderful stay at Bernardo’s new Posada off the beaten track in Carmelo. They make delicious silky round wines and offer a very intimate experience. You feel like you are catching up with old friends. The Posada offers bicycles, so you can cycle to neighboring wineries close by. Enjoy a sunset drink on the roof of the Posada overlooking the vineyards! Muchas gracias Bernardo. Volvemos! Abrazo. Ryan - Owner of The Wine Experience

There aren’t enough superlatives to express the wonderful experience we enjoyed at El Legado. Located in Carmelo, the grounds are very well maintained and surrounded by pastoral views. The tour of the vineyard was most informative . Winery owner Bernardo took time to demonstrate each process from training vines to barrel selection. The winery was initially started by his father and you can see clearly what a labour of love it is for Bernardo and his family. Inside, Federico explained the wines (Syrah, Tannat & Blend) The charcuterie paired very nicely with the wines. I could go on about how great the experience was for us, but what I’ll do instead is encourage you to visit this little place of heaven. Hands down this was the best memory making moment of our road trip to Colonia.

Wonderful experience here! The owner makes you feel like part of the family. He showed us the vineyard and wine-making facility. He even shared little details like how he hand feeds two beautiful hawks that now protect his grapes from other birds. You feel like you are in a beautiful novel while on his property. The rooms are brand new and very nice. The wine tasting is wonderful. We can’t say enough about this great bodega. Highly recommend.

Maria and Bernardo along with their sons are amazing! The passion for sharing the three exceptional wines is very obvious as each one of them give knowledge, expertise and a warm welcome to all who enter their lovely winery. Each wine produced is unique and the production process has been planned to perfection. We have been to numerous wineries in Uruguay and by far this one is our favorite.
What a treat it was to enjoy our time there and they now offer four suites to stay in. This blends so well with the peace and serenity that abounds there...what a retreat to be enjoyed by all!!!

Wonderful family owned vineyard. The owners conducted the tour and showed us around the property; beautiful grounds. We sampled all the wines which were very good. The food was amazing; I highly recommend getting the cheese & meat platter plus the grilled meat and veggies. Amazing place- I communicated thru Facebook to set up our tour and someone would get back to me immediately every time I had a question.

Location: it's a beautiful place with nice and big rooms, but you have to get there by car. They only host 4 couples and the most beautiful part is the sitting area outside the room, where you can watch the sunset. The city Carmelo is a 10 minute drive away.

Room: The bathroom is very nice and they had instant hot water with good pressure. There is a little kitchen area, as they will deliver a wodden box with breakfast and leave it over night in front of your door. This kind of attracted a lot of ants.

Food: for breakfast they offered some bred, orange juice, a yoghurt which seemed bad, fruits and cheap ham and cheese. We couldn't eat it and gave it to a dog. The degustation was included and we additionally booked the BBQ. We barely ate it, as it seems like they used low quality meat. The price was overpriced for what I got. I wouldn't recommend it.

Program: we arrived and didn't get an introduction, as the owner barely spoke English. I told her, I speak Spanish but she decided to stick to English and therefore not telling us anything about the area. So later on I went to the reception to ask about the program for this area. The receptionist then explained us the tour options, where we could drive with the bike for free. The degustation is the most important part so first they told us a little about the history and the process. When they served the wine, we didn't get any explanation or guidance and just drank it.

All in all -> I was super dissatisfied and had higher expectations. I would recommend to stay with another

Absolutely fantastic place, highly recommended. The setting is idyllic, the wine is delicious and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming.

The rooms are set apart in the vineyard, offering beautiful views from the large windows and private terraces. The rooms and clean and well maintained, with all the amenities you need.

The vineyard offers either a tasting with cheese, meats and other snacks or an “all you can drink” option with an asado lunch, which was incredible. They also let you draw your own wine straight from the barrel, which is a really lovely novelty.

There are a number of other small vineyards nearby, and we cycled the 15 minutes to Pueblo Tannat for lunch, which we would recommend (it is an easy cycle on flat road).

Some of the reviews have mentioned a lack of a cooked breakfast, but each evening you are given a box full of fruits, cereals, cheese & ham, hot drink choices, bread, spreads, milk & juices etc. with which to prep your own continental breakfast which we thought was absolutely perfect.

We would love to come back and would definitely recommend staying for a couple of nights!

Very charming and family-friendly winery. I felt like I was part of the family, as everyone was very welcoming and friendly. It's small, but you can easily spend hours there listening to the stories and enjoying the beauty and delicacies produced there. We were served by Ivan and Federico, both very attentive and polite. It is a perfect place for a family outing in Carmelo.

Dream place. Beautiful environment. The rooms are impeccable and arranged with exquisite taste. Super friendly staff. The breakfast in the room is very abundant (it is enough for breakfast and snack). Delicious and with fresh products. There is a minibar with cold drinks when you arrive and wines if you want to taste.
The maximum. To repeat.

You won't regret this wine tasting!! Personal tour of the vineyard from the couple themselves who are the sweetest and cutest, and then a picada (snack) of bread, cheese, meat, and of course lots of wine to taste! Sat on their comfy couches and chatted for hours while sipping on artisanal Tannat and Syrah; could not have been better! Don't be daunted by Carmelo's tiny-town feel, this is so worth it! We were staying in Colonia and took the bus to Carmelo and then a taxi to El Legado. I've been on vineyard tours in Mendoza and Buenos Aires, and this one is by far my favorite! Could not recommend it more, and for the price and service it's absolutely amazing and unforgettable.
