Both regular fishes and sea fishes are available in the purest form. At times they are a little more expensive than the regular supermarkets. And, there are times where you get it much more cheaper!! Cleanliness is maintained. Do in the morning and you might even get today's best picks!

The old fish market near the creek has moved to the modern Souk al Jubail complex. A similar development as in Dubai and Muscat. It greatly improved hygiene and service to the customers. The fish you buy can be cleaned by professional workers at a closed section adjacent to the fishmarket area in the hall. Do not expect low prices. The times when fish was a diet of the poor are over.

We had options to buy our meat and vegetable from various vendors under one roof. The vendors were all very nice, helpful and polite.

This place was alive and well with energy of fisherman and sellers alike. There was a huge variety of seafood to choose from, as smiley ex-pats ready to sell!
I couldn't believe the quality of the seafood available - and there actually were shrimp the size of bananas.

Regularly visit Sharjah fish market; mainly to enjoy pleasure of picking fishes from unlimited choices offered. This market offers accustomed experience of walking between market on one side and water body on other side. Although it is not of much cheaper in comparison with supermarket to purchase fishes, I visit this place repeatedly due to above.

The old Sharjah fish market was located next to the SHarjah Creek. Traders would bring in fresh supplies of fish, crabs and other seafood items to sell to the people, for whom fish formed an important part of their diet.

In order to make the place more hygienic, the old market was renovated and not too long ago, reopened as part of the modern Souk Al Jubail. The market has a large number of fish sellers, who now have plenty of space to parade their stock. The variety of seafood here is mind-boggling. Also, plenty of attention has been paid to hygiene and cleanliness; it is devoid of the smell one would generally associate with such a market.

One can get their fish weighed and take exactly how much they want directly from the sellers. Entrance to the place is free and access is easy, located next to the main bus station.
