Not another shopping mall for sure. One side specializes in gold / silver jewelry. The other side sells traditional Sharjah/Khaleeji garments - and the top floors have amazing carpets. Not more of the same (h+m, c&a) - totally different

Hello.
I was looking for authentic Iranian rug in dubai and I found on different blogs Central Souk in Sharjah. I met there with Mr Rashad AL Ghazali in his shop Sheba Iranian Carpets. He has a great choice of real Iranian rug at all prices. Service was just awesome I would definitely recommend to stop by there. You can contact him directly at 971 50 678 6168, his shop is on the first floor.

Located at Al Majaz, king Faisal street, the souk is famous for gold and carpet but other items like electronic and watches etc are also available.

If you are looking for some great deals, authentic clothing, scarves, rugs, souvenirs, sliver, and lots of gold forget Dubai and stop here. Every time I’m in the UAE I stop here. The prices are great. It’s indoors, so it beats the heat and the crazy streets of Dubai.

This is 2 buildings connected by a bridge. I love this place. I only have one negative comment, this place opens at 10am and they close around 1:30-2pm for a “siesta”. They do reopen I believe at 5 and stay open till 11pm or later.

If you are looking for an Arabian carpet, then you need not go any further than here! This store has the best selection, price and customer service of any business in the UAE!

The gentleman running this establishment will go out of his way to ensure you have the best experience. Friends of mine have had him drive from Sharjah to Abu Dhabi (a six hour round trip) to bring carpets to their home to look at.

As I stated, his selection is the best and highest quality.

But the experience does not simply end with the purchase. We had purchased three rugs (not from him, unfortunately) that were in need of cleaning and repair. He did not refuse to assist, but drove to our residence in Abu Dhabi (a six hour round trip) to pick up the rugs and then returned with the rugs within two weeks. They were excellently repaired and cleaned to perfection!

Like I said, do not go to any other dealer, or you are missing out on true great customer service and products!

I wish when you come to sharjah to conceder visiting this place, keep in mind it is 2 markets (buildings) lay down one near the other, one of them all for gold (very good for some gold maintenance and repair) and gold prices there is so affordable (TIP: barging on the gram labour charge is a good idea) the other market is for all other things ... do never hesitate to visit the upper level, contains too much eastern sovoneiers and things must see and buy. Good like, don't forget to say my tip is helpful

This was my first trip to Sharjah and I have visited the Central "Blue" Souk twice now. I purchased some Arabian style hanging lamps and two Persian carpets. Prices were good, much cheaper than souks in Dubai. I enjoyed the haggling process with both carpet dealers as there was much laughing and negotiating, along with tea. In the end I was very happy with the purchases. the vendors are not pushy like some souks where I have been. Being inside it is nice and air conditioned and they have a good variety of shops selling jewelry, textiles, Persian carpets and lots of antiques. There are a few restaurants with multilingual menus. Overall this is a great souk in the heart of Sharjah.

This is definitely worth seeing but a little difficult to find. Once inside it is a traditional souk. We bought a few rugs from a very wonderful man who made the experience enjoyable. The building itself is quite beautiful and I've included a few photos.

An amazingly traditional gem in the artificial bubble that is the Emirates. Bargain for EVERYTHING and if you want to explore the whole place, give yourself at least 2 hours. They do close at prayer times on fridays but that's common in the UAE anyway. Not many places to eat so bring food or eat before. Can find all sorts of traditional dresses, persian rugs, jewellery, decoarations etc from iran, turkey, afghanistan. A really traditional bazar, well worth the visit.
