Sharjah's shopping malls have never been as good as those of Dubai.... until now. A few years ago Sahara Centre opened at Al Nahda in Sharjah. It was almost as good as Dubai's malls. Now they've expanded and opened a whole new extension, a new wing with better stores, better facilities and better restaurants.
I went there in November. Many of the restaurants were still being readied for opening but the signs showed what they were and many are interesting.
I tried a few during my visits there, Applebee's, Russo's New York Pizzeria and a couple of others.
Among those due to open soon were Bennigan's and a few interesting middle eastern ones.
Sahara Centre has a Spinneys supermarket in the basement. Spinneys is not as big as some of the other supermarkets in the Middle East but they have quality products.
With Sahara Centre, Sharjah finally has a mall that can match those in Dubai....

My daughter lives walking distance from here, so this is our theater of choice. Very clean inside the movies and their restrooms. Friendly staff!

This is one of the best cinema in Sharjah. I am going at least once in a month. Easy to access and book tickets online. From mashreq card getting the one plus one discount.

My wife and I are regulars here. Twice or thrice a month just by ourselves or with family. Best thing is that the Mashreq Grand card gets us tickets at half price making the experience more pleasurable. Only thing missing is a gents rest room for which we have to walk out of the cinema to the mall and beyond Home center.

I liked that this cinema is clean with courteous staff and ushers. What I seriously don't like is, I don't get to enjoy what I'm watching because it's awfully loud! I thought it was just because I was watching action movie that time. But when I came back for a different movie (Fault in our stars), it was the same experience. I just felt there's no need to put the volume on a blast. In some instances, I had to plug a tissue paper on both ears to tone down the audio from what I'm watching.

I love the Sahara Centre - I've been a visitor ever since it started in 2002! Needless to say, I've enjoyed many movies at this Grand Cinemas - Sahara, especially with my son. I love the venue & the environment. However, I do feel that the food is extremely expensive. Dhs 26 for a serving of nachos with double cheese was a bit pricey, I think.. and hte cheese isnt always warm, but I love watching movies here & the staff are always helpful!

Novo Cinemas took over and I was expecting better services over all ... BUT it was disappointing experience. Terrible cinema halls, smelly, damp with humidity, un-convertible seats, even though I paid 50 dhs each for a VIP seat. Popcorn is cold and not fresh, overcooked and nearly burned, soft drinks are flat and taste funny, when complained they said its comes like that from the company, we only connect the cylinders.
Never go back again.

The USP of this cinema's location is that it's located in a mall which allows you to plan your day with a movie and/or lunch/dinner and/or shopping. The seating in the cinema is quite comfortable and the place is quite clean.
