The Al Majaz Waterfront is easily Sharjah's most popular destination for residents and their families. Located at the end of Khalid Lagoon, the waterfront offers vast green spaces and plenty of activities to indulge in for everyone.

The waterfront is the best place to enjoy the Musical Fountain show in the evening and is also the venue for the fireworks displays done by the Emirate on various occasions. It boasts of some nice restaurants, a mosque, a couple of children's play areas and lots of open space for picnics. Across the road is a large park as well. There is also a small Sculpture Park and a Trampoline park.

However, there are some issues too. The mini-golf seemed to be closed now. Also, the lagoon itself near the Waterfront is not clean and is a bit of an eyesore. Apart from that, it's a good place to spend quality time with one's loved ones.

Time for an all inclusive five point review
1. The place : Decent park, good for family picninc.. 3/5
2. Activities : Speed boating, kayaking, family boat rides (all decently priced) lots of kids activities nearby (trampoline, cars, splash park etc.).. 4/5
3. Dining : Decent options. from cafeterias to grills to Indian. You get all. 3/5
4. Crowd : On weekends it does get crowded (kayaking queues are too long) but not mucj waiting in other activities. So not that big an issue. 3/5
5. Overall : A decent place for a weekend out (on a budget) with enough things to do. 3 out of 5 (My 3 stars are pretty good generally)

al majaz one of the best places i've visited in sharjah. but they are not using its value.. i mean they have a good waterfront and have a poor quality water fountain. it is a main attraction in al majaz. i think its a good one in starting and because of bad maintenance its like that now. me and all other visitors excited to watch when it's starting the water dance but all are disappointed after watching it.

im sure that if they care about the water fountain more people will visit that place. because mouth publicity is a best review in the world.

We usually go for walks in the evenings to this very beautiful place. However because of Covid 19 most of the restaurants if not all are currently closed.Nevertheless it's a lovely place to enjoy the evening, exercising in some way or the other and enjoying the scenic landscape at the same time

My kids enjoyed the pleasant weather and the various entertainment options . There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, we chose to have our lunch in levantine restaurant. Their food was good and their outdoor seating area had beautiful views. The Abra ride at the end of our trip was exceptional.

We will definitely be visiting again soon

No longer does one have to travel to Dubai for a decent restaurant! Its a pleasure to sit out here in the evening watch the fountain show and order from a nice place. The only pain is parking which is a nightmare on a Friday

Al Majaz Waterfront has been a favourite spot of ours for quite some time and has changed dramatically since the new restaurant and entertainment complex along the waterfront but it has been cleverly developed as it enhances an already beautiful area of the city.

We ate at TGI Fridays one evening and it was such a pleasant experience having a meal in such a lovely setting with Khalid Lagoon as the backdrop. The Sharjah Fountain is spectacular and cannot be critically compared to Dubai Fountains as it is in character with it’s Sharjah setting, we watched the show a couple of times and it was a great experience.

As the sun goes down in Sharjah people gather by the waters of the lagoon to chat, picnic and people watch. There are bikes and pedel carts for kids to hire, a running track and plenty of places to eat

The highlight of the park must be the fountains in the lagoon. These operate every 30 minutes in the evening (on the hour and half hour) and the program seems to vary day by day from a simple light and water show to music to a brief history of Sharjah with video and people (in English)

A tip is to get a table at one of the restaurants facing the fountains, preferably on the first floor. If there isn't one available when you arrive there will probably be one within 30 minutes
