- ZoéDubai, United Arab Emirates164 contributionsGreat day outReally surprised how good this was. Children under 12 were free and adults 20 AED for entry to the whole desert park. There is a children’s farm, botanical garden, natural history museum (well worth visiting) and the wildlife park. All indoors and really beautiful. Loved it and will be back.Visited August 2022Traveled with familyWritten August 5, 2022
- Tam KDubai, United Arab Emirates1,658 contributionsInterestingLove the idea that its a covered zoo park. It contains a good number of animals from The Arabian peninsula. Yet, I wonder why there is no section dedicated for the wild birds (arabian Falcons, Owls, Gulls ..etc.). Given its founded in 1999, I think more innovation is required now. The tickets give you the option to visit 3 spots on the same day, this is the most interesting part. Good for the kids ..Visited May 2021Traveled with familyWritten May 31, 2021
- KsASharjah, United Arab Emirates14 contributionsAmazing Family place. It's an excellent place to introduce children to animals. The children farm is captivating for children. The wildlife area is excellent to learn about the conservation efforts of UAE and wildlife in general. The botanical garden and natural history meseaum are excellent to learn about the plants of the region. I highly recommend it for families and everyone.Visited January 2021Traveled with familyWritten September 2, 2021
- hoyden66626 contributionsSad and depressingVery sad. I thought this would be a safe place for local endangered animals, but many are not at all native to the area. I wonder how these poor creatures got here? Surely it was extremely traumatic to be taken from say, Africa to Sharjah! And there are some big animals, like cheetahs, that should never, ever be locked in cages. No wonder they looked so depressed. I regret paying money to see these animal prisoners.Visited November 2020Written November 14, 2020
- DWBSL5 contributionsAbsolutely Fantastic! This is a well planned, interesting place to visit for people of all ages! The animals can be viewed in their natural habitats, some close enough to touch, all the while you're in air conditioned comfort! There is also a fast food restaurant with meals to please everyone. Do not miss this! (You are not allowed to take cameras inside)Written July 12, 2005

Therea re all kinds of animals and reptiles specific to the region. Its amazing to see how innovatively birds have been kept in a hall open (no cage).A place worth visiting. The food court could be improved.Written January 8, 2012
- Simon MCambridge, United Kingdom232 contributionsTruly #1 attraction in Sharjah for visitorsWe went to this centre as part of a tour we booked as passengers on Queen Mary 2. It's one of the nicest small zoos anywhere in the world. Animals are well kept and healthy - no smells or repetitive behaviour. You start in an exciting section of snakes native to Arabia. Some incredibly poisonous ones here (all behind security glass) - vipers, cobras, and so on. The insects and reptiles sections are captivating. The huge walk-through indoor aviary is stunning. This park is the home to really endangered species. They have the last remaining Arabian Leopards (actually a sub-species), and they are easy to see. The cheetah is extinct in the Arabian peninsula, but they have them here. Also the Arabian oryx, a beautiful large antelope, which is slowly being reintroduced into the wild. On the bus journey to the centre you'll pass through scrubby desert with sand dunes and many feral camels. There is an excellent coffee shop with light food. There's one thing needing improvement: no guide to the centre is handed out with tickets. For us this had the unfortunate consequence that we spent too long with the reptiles and had to cut short our time with the outdoor animals. If you are booking this tour on a cruise ship please press the tour office on how long you get at the Centre: we had just 55 minutes which is inadequate.Visited January 2015Traveled as a coupleWritten February 1, 2015
- AdrianWiggettDubai, United Arab Emirates4 contributionsIncorrect Location on Map! Should be on Interchange#9 E88 Al Dhaid RoadWhen we eventually found the proper location it was a great place, so well maintained and fantastic way to see the animals in natural habitat. Proper location is on Al Dhaid Road Interchange Number 9 heading East (past the cement works) away from Sharjah on the E88. This is also same exit for the Sharjah Monument. Note that the place is CLOSED on Tuesdays. You need at least 2-3 hrs to see all three inclusive sites for 15AED (1Ad. + 1Child). No cameras allowed inside the AWC, but when you get inside you will see why. Very helpful staff too! There is a superb restaurant in the Arabian Wildlife Centre which is the viewing area. An Awesome feel to a very well cared-for place. The best part is on the way out past the wild cats..Enjoy! Hope to return soon.Visited October 2012Traveled with familyWritten October 31, 2012
- cobelloy1 contributionbest wildlife park everThe best part of the combined desert park, which also includes (for a very low entry fee, 15 Dhs adults, children free) the childrens farm (farm animal petting, feeding and riding) and the natural history museum (including fossils, dinosaurs and an arboretum). The wildlife park was a series of airconditioned rooms, containing small glass fronted enclosures and larger windowed or glass fronted pens lining all the walls, starting with small animals like reptiles, amphibians, fish, rodents and other small mammals. This then opens into the huge open indoor aviary with a variety of birds, many of them nesting, and all of them quite happy to be around people. The aviary is modeled on a mountain habitat and also includes caves housing enclosures with some nocturnal animals. Then you enter the cafeteria and corridors along side the large birds and mammals, the cafeteria is a circular glass structure and the corridors all have large glass panels, the result is that all the animals are right where you can see them with no fences or barriers to impede the view. All in all a very pleasant way to see the impressive array of animals, no smell, no flies, no heat - just lots of animals and information. The only drawback is the no photography rule - so you wont be able to take home any pictures from your visit. We loved it, it was one of the great highlights of our trip to Dubai.Written April 4, 2008

Worth visiting this place as you will enjoy 4 parks in one place. The best part is you can visit again in case you won't be able to complete all parks on the same day.

Animal are taken from their natural habitat and closed in small cages. Is that animal protection? Artificial lightning and day-night cycling for nocturnal animals disrupt theirs internal timekeeping system and adversely affects theirs mental health. They could create better conditions for endangered species.

What a great visit we had, lots of very interesting animals. We looked on line before we went, but to see the animals so close to you was amazing. The birds all had nests in the trees & totally seemed at home. They had reptiles & snakes, I wouldn’t want to meet one of them out in the desert. They had cheetahs & baboons (a sweet little baby) so close to the glass you felt you could touch them. Wow to see the beautiful Arabian leopard! Well done to all involved with looking after them & their breeding scheme. I think that the sheikh has personally driven this process, (from what we were told) What a caring man to want to keep alive & set up the park to look after the animals that come from the local areas. We have just lost the last northern white rhino which is so sad. So to go to a park that is really doing something positive to help is fantastic.

Hi I'm travelling solo on a cruise, stopping at Sir Bani Yas Island, wanted to visit the Arabian Wildlife Park. There are no tours that accept solo guest. Can someone that can help me find one? I'm reaching the Island in December 27. From 08.00-17.00
Best Rgds.

I do not know how you are going to get there, by taxi too, I presume, but then you can ask the driver to come back for you at a certain time.
I did not see any taxis at the centre when we were there.
