I decided to have my husband's early birthday dinner in Al Qasba where I have always find the place a bit romantic especially during sunsets. With several restos to choose from matched with a very fine weather, I did not regret the decision. It was almost sundown, so the sunset was beautiful as I expected. We'll definitely be back.

I lived in the UAE from Mar 05 to Nov 08 and arrived in Sharjah first. I was there in April 2005, when The Eye of the Emirate was being built. I actually worked at Thomas Klein Intl who brought the concept of the Eye to fruition. Sharjah was still mostly a sand bowl in those days, except for the Sharjah mall which was the best I'd ever been in, defs better than in South Africa. And the size of my apartment in Sharjah was epic. Magical days. UAE has some of the most exquisite mornings ever.

Al Qasba is straddles either side of the canal that links Al Khan Lagoon with Khalid Lagoon. There are many restaurants and amusement areas and the Eye of the Emirates Ferris Wheel. There are also frequent Abra trips around Al Khan Lagoon, we went on an Abra around the Lagoon and it was good fun and reasonably priced at 15 AED. This is a great area for an evening stroll or just people watching.

We often go there and sit at the promenade. Its very relaxing. the kids fun area allows you to leave the kids and take a leisurely walk or a boat ride. The light festival that happens there is also amazing. You will find a variety of food !

If you want a taste of Europe coupled with Arabian culture and hospitality surrounding it with its rich architectural sites, this is a pace where you can either bring along your family for an evening out or even come out with your friends to enjoy the scrumptious choice of food coupled with a myriad of exciting rides on the ferris wheel. Kids love the food and you will love the view when you go atop on the wheel.

A great palace where your baby could enjoy a lot and you could relax in AC room or could play with your toddler.
Although the food options are almost null but they eatable thing with you.
All the rides are for babies only but above then 3 year old kids.

A great place to just hang out, stroll, dine and play for younger kids. The place is similar to City Walk & Box Park in Dubai only it has a canal where you can take a water cruise and a walking distance to Al Majaz Waterfront which is also a popular attraction in Sharjah.

Visit Al Qasba area is must do within stay in Shajah. You can enjoy Eye of the Emirates from down or take a part of it. There is plenty of restaurants, great is to walk along the canal and creek to Al Majaz waterfront. I did this walk all round ended in a Blue souk. Exellet, relaxing place to stay if you need to calm down after visiting busy Dubai.

A very lovely place to go to during the evening with plenty of cofee bars and restaurants. Yes there is a ferris wheel that resembles the London Eye and fairgrounds for children. There is a canal that runs right through it but you can lovely photos of this with the Sharjah skyscapers. the only issue is that it is pain to get to this place but it is worth it
