Rak Ghost Town
Apr 2019
Also know as the Ghost Town, was very interesting to see, lots of Art put up and plans to do this place up should be a great tourist spot in due time when they have finished with all their work on it.

Interesting

Lots to see and walk through and take many pictures. Also a Fine Arts Festival going on. Too bad there isn't some volunteers to clean up garbage people leave.

Al Hamra becomes site for Fine Ars Ffestival
Feb 2019 • Friends
I was honored to have been invited to prticipate in the 7th annual Ras Al Khaimah Art Festival, as two of my travel photographs were selected. This year the festival was housed in the Al Jazeera Al Hamra historic village. A visit to the site, which was magically transformed into an open air art gallery for the exhibit, gives one a sense of times past.

Interesting place
Apr 2019 • Family
We visited this site last year when they were just starting the renovation project. It is now sign posted as Al Hamra Heritage Village and it was nice to see how the renovation works were getting on. It would be nice if one of the villas was turned into a visitor centre with more information on the history of the village. Plenty of parking available and there are now toilets at the parking area.

art exhibition
Mar 2019 • Family
normally its a bit of a desolate place, albeit interesting in its own. But currently there is a fabulous art exhibition going on, absolutely worth visiting.

Home to the Zaab tribe
Mar 2019 • Friends
It is a desolated place, without any indication to reveal its past.
Most of its visitors will just enjoy a nice walking through its ruins and feeling of a haunted place. Some very few buildings are renovated or soon to be done. Hopefully the real touch of its roots will remain.
Close your eyes and imagine a proud fishermen and pearl diving tribe of the Zaab, hard workers until fatality of economy brings them under difficulty... an easy “fish” to be “eaten up” by the neighboring families...
You want to know more? Surf under Zaab, you might find nice historical backgrounds to fill your knowledge about the fascinating time of the Trucial States.

Interesting piece of history
Mar 2019 • Friends
Taken in the context that the modern day emeritus has risen from this village in as little as 50 years and you realise what a valuable slice of local history this is. There is a lot of work being undertaken by the UAE to restore this old village. The original mosque is now fully restored with work continuing on many other buildings. While much remains in ruin, it is an amazing place to wander and see how the emeritie people lived just a few short decades ago.

A nice glimpse of history
Feb 2019 • Couples
A worthwhile trip if you are in the area - it is nice to see a bit of history in the UAE. Not much to do there but worth a little walk around and Google after.

Ghost village

Very interesting place, that I discovered thanks to geocaching. It is a pitty that there is no some info sign board with basic map and a bit explaining history.

A Spooky Glimpse of the Past
Oct 2017
A derelict and abandoned Arabian, pearl fishing village dating back to the 1800's. Believed to be haunted by locals and visitors alike, many of whom have experienced strange and paranormal activity throughout the village. I didn't hang around long enough to find out and would only go there in day light. If you want to go at night fall you will need a torch and appropriate attire to do so.
You will find yourself left to your own devices to explore here, there are no guides or outlets or informations centre to look after you when you get here.

Not for the easily spooked but an interesting insight into the past, can be made a fun day out with some imagination!
