During my last visit to UAE, I got a chance to visit Iceland Water Park. Its amazing. It is a huge park where you can spend the whole day with your family and friends. The food in the restaurants is very hygienic and tasty.
Its about one hour drive from Dubai but worth a visit.

Quiet and no queues at all. The only issues was they did not have a full stock in the food hut. The rides were great. You need to be aware that you cannot wear t-shirts on the rides and no zips in bikinis.

Great waterpark for young and old
Good fun, refreshing and not too packed.
Surely we will come back, much better than the overcrowded dubai waterparks
Highly recommended

Went for the Easter break in April, expensive to get in so used some vouchers. By Dubai luxury standards its looking tired and old and could do with a refurb. However plus side was that it was not busy, so no ride queues whatsoever. Water was cool, not warm like in August but looked relatively clean. Lockers are small, expensive and do not look secure. Some of the inflatable rings that are used on the slides were in a poor state with hand grips hanging off or loose. On-site restaurant is a total rip-off and food is tasteless -no picnics or external food can be brought in, (bags are checked). Doubt we'll visit again as its below standards and a good 1hr drive, each way from Dubai.

We drove 100 km from Dubai to Iceland Water Park thinking this would be a great waterpark to explore and do an activity to refresh ourselves during the hot season. The experience was so bad that we left after 30 minutes without any chance to get our money back.

All rides have warm water, so warm that you could boil noodles. Forget about refreshing yourself, we left because instead of relaxing we were feeling more stressed than before running to not burn our feet.

The changing rooms were probably the worst part, I thought for a moment that we were visiting a refugee camp; very crowded, smelly and dirty. Many people didn't take a shower before swimming, and they were stinking.

To summarize; don't waste your time on going to this water park, it's horrible.

We were in Iceland park in RAK last weekend, but I would not recommend this park to anyone. First of all it is just new built park, but it seems as though it's been here for 20 years at least. The floor is covered with PVC mats, which are not very comfortable and it aches when you are stepping onto them with naked foot. I can't imagine, how hot they have to be later in April, May or June. There were many slides, some of them very good and look very dangerous, so the next day you'll have small bruises on your back. There were almost no queues even on Friday, HOWEVER they have to be repaired or properly maintained : the stairs to slides were dirty (somebody was sweeping them, but sweeping is good for nothing you need to use a lot of water and brush them in order to make them clen) ; the spots were already rusted; the boards from where you are going to the slide tunnel were broken or with holes on some places (which may be dangerous, as you are shoeless) also the plastic decorations of pinguins or handrails were dirty from the sand/dust. The water in the pools was so cold, also for the kids we can't even stepped there with my 2years old niece. The drains in the pools were not attractive as well. Many attractions were closed and definitely I wouldn't use Coral Isle - which is supposed to be for snorkeling - but the water was so dirty and yellow...not wondering there was just 1 fish surveving. Also the other pools and the water in slides were not very clean, the same about water drains from the pools and slides.
There is a policy to wear the swimming suits, however I've seen 90% of visitors to swim in street clothes or in clothes they actually came to the waterpark, I understand and respect the different culture in UAE, that women would like/need to cover their legs, hair and arms etc, but I suppose they should wear a separate swimming suits for it (available everywhere in the country). The most disgusting was to see the Indian men swim in their undershirts and jogging suit trousers - I suppose they were wearing underwear as well - from the all day. I've also seen a lady walking in the pool to cool the heat and she was wearing jeans, scarf, coat and walking in the small water but without taking off the boots. Sorry lady, but I am swimming in that pool and you're washing your shoes from the sand and road dust?!
Re the staff and lifeguards they are supposed to communicate to each other through wireless stations, however they allowed to go the people to slides without being properly cleaned....I've seen the injury, when young boy knocked down the girl, who was still at the end of the slide - most probably her leg was broken as she couldn't have moved and her friends helped her to go out of the slide. Staff did nothing.
Also the other facilities were in poor condition: toilets dirty without toilet paper; smelly and full waste bins; the busiest are the toilets/changing rooms next to the entrance and these were significantly old and cleaned poorly - black mould on the mirrors and in the wash-basins and on the walls; they didn't cleaned the showers; toilets or locker rooms during the day, so you can imagine dirt; hair everywhere on the floor ; waste-water on the floor when you came back to the changing rooms after all day; air-shafts from A/C black and full of dust.
We were there to enjoy our weekend with family and we chosed in the morning at 10.00am quiet location table with chairs and deckchairs, however around noon they built 2metres big loudspeakers just 5 metres from us and then started some kind of disco. We had a kid with us and I think the loud level was far away from the normal standard, so we moved the chairs 50m away, unfortunatelly the moved also the speakers again and we couldn't have heard our own word. Also there were 3-4 girls dancing together on the loud music, I think they were paid by the waterpark, and all the men from the whole waterpark were coming, standing and staring at them. So just imagine cca 50 young and old men standing next to your deckchair in 1 lump or sitting on the chairs everywhere around you and your family and staring at those girls. We had to definitely move in order not to turn deaf.
We've tried also the food, but the quality was nothing special: chicken burgers, fish&chips; chicken nugets with chips, there were also another restaurants, but closed when we were there. Just fast food was operating, as I said food nothing special fortunatelly we didn't have food poisoning.
I will never go back and will rather pay for Aquaventure or Wild Wadi and definitely will have a beautiful weekend without any dissapointments.

1- entrance look good, they measure kids height instead of age!! so if a 7yr old kid is over 120 you will pay more anyway.
2- in changing rooms the smell is really strong, visitors just keep their shoes everywhere with an amazing smell, and the carpet they use normally keep their foot smell as well.
3- no maintenance for any ride, kids rides are not safe enough (compared to others like aquaventure or wild wadi), the adults rides are all rusted and old and never maintained.
4- no hygene, the tubes you use are full of dirts and rust, and not clean at all.
5- all resturants are indian, even the burger and pizza resturants are indian taste (which i personally don't like)
6- found used diapers and changed women pads around the rides!!!!!
7- one of the rules is to use proper swimming dress, however most ppl go to the rides with their cotton underware without any comment from guards!!!
8- the weather was so hot, and the rides and water also was so hot.

i wasted 2hrs of my life in this awoful place

I rarely write reviews for attractions. But the reason why I am doing so is because I want to warn people who might get lured by the online offers. We were on a RAK road trip and a offer of 100 dirhams for 2 adults & 1 child felt too good to be true. And it was indeed a disaster.

Let me justify the one star I have given first. The staff was good, the park must have been great in its heydays, the food court had limited but decent options and I loved the waterfall at the entrance. But that's it.

1. The place is actually partially closed for renovation, including the slides they widely advertise. The open rides are not worth the effort. They give free tickets with 6 minute validity as a compensation but that is not going to help the park's experience, considering the following points.
2. Being cheap (and in future, free) the place is super crowded with rowdy men, wrongly attired families (some people even entered the pools in saree) etc. Some of these men created ruckus (esp. in the lazy river ride) and ogled at women. I don't want to sound classist, but this theme park was a little too mass focused, with some people even turning up with stinky clothes. The etiquette and the environment in the changing room was disgusting.
3. The water was dirty. Anyone who has used public pool knows that chlorine stench gets heightened when someone pees in it. And the placed reeked of chlorine. There were floating plastic bottles, slippers etc. too in the water.
4. The basic infrastructure needs a lot of maintenance and improvement. The rain dance area needs better flooring and lighting. The shades need to be reinforced at most places.
5. NO ONE picks up your call or replies to mails. Give it a try and you will know. So, please make sure not to forget anything behind else you will have to come all the way back to even check it. Also, no one to answer questions regarding the booking.

This place is NOT meant for families with median income levels. Please refrain from going. More suited for the masses and boy gangs.

I went there with my family last Sunday and honestly we regret going there.

1. The park is very badly maintained.

2. Most of the things around are damaged like lockers and showers, etc

3. The water is highly contaminated which is a serious issue I believe it's from the
corroded pipeline which is making the water yellow in colour.

4. Many rides are not even working.

5. I didn't try the food as I was scared that maybe ... even that wouldn't be good.

Overall it's very sad that they have not maintained the park as it has a lot of potential.

The management needs to take a serious action before it's too late

It was a complete waste of money.
