Fun day out
Feb 2021
There is lots of work being completed on new enclosures at the moment so some areas and animals are not currently on view. That being said it’s a good value day out and from what we can see the animals are provided with much better accommodations that other zoos in the UAE.

There are lots of little stalls open too for drinks etc all of which are very fairly priced.

Average zoo
Feb 2020
Visited this zoo back in 2019. I will admit that I wasn't as impressed and I thought I would've been. Granted the zoo is a decent size but I was expecting to see more animals. The animals seem limited and the ones that were out looked tired.

I did enjoy watching the flamingos, the crocodile's were interesting to watch and I did enjoy feeding the giraffe's. There was one that was either really hungry or just greedy. :) Nonetheless it was a pleasure to feed it. You do have to pay a small fee for the the grass to feed them but it was worth it just to see them up close and personal.

I probably wouldn't visit this place again due to the limited animals but...It was o.k. and an experience to see something different.

During Dec 2019 we visited this place.
Though the Zoo looks very well established however many animals were looking tired / exhausted due to the hot weather. I believe a proper cooling system shall be provided for them.
Also we expected to see the polar bear but wasn't avaialble.

Wonderful Diversity of Animals and Fun Times for Kids
Dec 2020
We enjoyed nearly an entire day at the Al Ain Zoo - even then, we didn't get to see everything! We were a group of adults and kids (16 in total), and the kids loved the big cats, monkeys, hippo's, crocs and children's play area. There are a number of places to eat and relax, plenty of grass and shaded areas. There is a substantial amount of walking required if you choose to walk yourself around, but you can hire buggies or VIP carts (book well in advance for the VIP cart!).

The diversity and standard is good, and the location is great (not far from most hotels in Al Ain). There is easily enough for a full-day. If you have young children, plan out the most important parts you want to see!

Go early, move around before midday and see as much as you can, as the heat (12pm - 4pm) of the day tends to cause the animals to get sleepy in the afternoon! There are more exhibits opening, so we will likely be back.

Good for kids
Sep 2020 • Family
I have 3 kids , we decided to visit zoo as many of our kid’s friends have visited this place so my kids were curious too. We booked tickets online and went on specified day. From the start kids were so ecstatic and participated in many on going activities there. Birds show, feeding them , face paintings and a wide place where kids can play. Highly recommend this place to families with young kids.

It is a Safari Park not a Zoo!
Oct 2020
Its not a zoo anymore! it is a safari park. Unless you book a safari or a vehicle tour, you will be greatly disappointed! The entrance fee is 30 Dhs (As of October 2020 for adults) and you need to pay extra 40 bucks for each person for a safari ride. The animals are hardly visible because of the wide area and they wander somewhere inside the bush which the visitors cannot be seen. Please make sure you bring water and snacks as the kiosks and restaurants inside is massively overpriced.
If you visit the so called 'zoo' with children they will be greatly disappointed. The animals are somewhere inside the park and you will just stare at the grass. Well, if you are just looking for a nice picnic spot and a good walk, it is a great place for you. There are lots of walkways and no directions. Please remember to get a map from the ticket counter. If you have not visited any other zoo in UAE, it is a place for you to spend time and energy.
Definitely not worth the normal ticket price. Not sure it is worth if you book a safari.
