Free parking. Book online ticket to avoid long quee.ticket price was 30 aed when we visited during December 2022.once you enter have a good look at the map so you can select what are the things to watch.its so big area as you might get tired walking at the end. Watching the Penguins was Nice. worth visiting one time. It took 3 hours to walk around the zoo.

A place to visit with family.
We had been to Al Ain for a day and decided to visit the Zoo. It was a whole day of good times watching every creature in the Zoo. Our daughter was happy to see Flamingos and the giraffes. A place to spend time with family.

    The Park at dusk
A great way to spend a few hours in the cold of January. Lions mostly asleep. The Oryx herd a must see. Easy walks around the park. A useful visitor's centre with a fabulous library of UAE centred resources including sustainability and scientific endeavours in the UAE and other subjects plants, animals, geography, kids books etc.

    Zoo with huge area
    1. Huge area- well maintained- very friendly staff-huge parking lot 2. The animals looked healthy. 3. Plenty of greeneries and places to rest and take small refreshments. 4. Best thing is the battery run shuttles with friendly drivers. 5. A lot of displays but expected more. 6. No elephant or bear 7. Freshly cooked fast foods are served in the cafeteria at stop 4. 8. The bird enclosure was nice but penguin enclosure is a bit dull looking. 9. Loved the amphitheater area specially the benches but there was no information about show. Doubt when is the show. 10. The museum is good. 11. Negative part is hot February afternoon. All the animals hiding/ sleeping or looking very sad except monkeys.

    variety of animal
they have variety of animals. I was excited to see the hippopotamus and gorilla but sadly the area was under maintenance. However they still have alot of other animals such as lions, cheetah and a whole lot of oryx. The zoo was clean and well maintained. In every area they make sure they have shops or snacks bar to be able to refresh and eat food while roaming around the zoo. The experience was great.

    Under construction
Saddens me to write this review as I have been many times to Al ain zoo in the past and loved it. Right now most of the zoo is under construction. Depending on who you ask, they estimate by January they will finish the upgrades. Currently, even the bathrooms are under renovation, the main bathrooms right outside have stalls but no toilet bowls. Only 2 working toilets. Signage is sparse so you mostly wander around and find yourself back to where you started. Some areas are cordoned off for construction. We went yesterday, Friday and there was no Hippo, no elephant and because of the lack of clear directions or lack of any map, we missed the penguins. On the plus side, it was lovely to see the big cats, especially the white tiger and the serval. The gorrila, and other monkeys were impressive to see. One big advantage, for kids, most of the exhibits are kid friendly and toddlers can see it from their height and viewpoint. My children spent most of the time walking or in the stroller and were able to see all the animals. They are open from 9am. We did not take the safari package at aed 1,000 it was definitely not on our budget.

Its not a zoo anymore! it is a safari park. Unless you book a safari or a vehicle tour, you will be greatly disappointed! The entrance fee is 30 Dhs (As of October 2020 for adults) and you need to pay extra 40 bucks for each person for a safari ride. The animals are hardly visible because of the wide area and they wander somewhere inside the bush which the visitors cannot be seen. Please make sure you bring water and snacks as the kiosks and restaurants inside is massively overpriced.
If you visit the so called 'zoo' with children they will be greatly disappointed. The animals are somewhere inside the park and you will just stare at the grass. Well, if you are just looking for a nice picnic spot and a good walk, it is a great place for you. There are lots of walkways and no directions. Please remember to get a map from the ticket counter. If you have not visited any other zoo in UAE, it is a place for you to spend time and energy.
Definitely not worth the normal ticket price. Not sure it is worth if you book a safari.

*The above information is from my own experience and from my view point. Your experience may be different depending upon the package.

The enclosures for the animals were amazing, and for someone who loves animals I was very happy!
There are some thing’s that Al Ain Zoo should change. They need more information in many of the animals enclosures. They need the signs “do not disturb or feed the animals” urgently! One time I was unsure if the animals where the ones inside the enclosures or the ones knocking on the window or feeding the animals with nuts! We need more security guards with more power to prevent this people to disturb the animals!
For the new enclosures that you are building, invest in making sure people will not disturb or try to feed the animals. Or if they are feeding them, make it like the giraffe interaction.

Founded in 1968 by Sheik Zayed, Al Ain Zoo is a truly enjoyable destination to head to with your family and friends! With a large number of animals, cafes, and restaurants as well, Al Ain Zoo is your perfect destination.

The wide range of species there is astounding, as well as the way you can transport around the tremendous zoo, which was a minibus open to the cold and gentle breeze. The greenery added a fresh taste to the experience, and; moreover, the running water bodies had a great soothing effect on the Zoo's visitors, or at least I had that impression! Not to mention the various species of monkeys, as well as hippos who were very fun to be around.

In my opinion, Al Ain Zoo is excellent to spend a light day with your family and friends. However, there were not a variety of restaurants and cafes to go to. Nevertheless, this did not take away any of our enjoyment.

Lastly, I would recommend to specifically families whose most of their members are kids or teenagers, they will enjoy this experience!

I would recommend to get the safari Zoo SUV trip as the cars have air conditioning which helped us enjoy viewing the animals in the large enclosure ! We got to feed giraffes and see so many animals. The entry to regular zoo is included when you purchase the Safari SUV tour. Car fits around 5 people just right 👍 Certainly worth going even though it’s 1.5 hours away from Dubai !

A bit disappointing with the service. My kids really wanted a camel ride. The ticket sales lady didn't know about it, so she asked someone else, and they said yes, just ask your tour guide (private vehicle tour) to take you there first. But when we go in, he tells us they don't have a camel because it died! Shouldn't all the staff know that?
Also, the private tour didn't take us everywhere, I'd say we missed 30% of the animals. I believe there was miscommunication or lack of communication.
Also the timings on the website and on Trip Advisor don't match the real timings. We thought it opened at 3pm, but in fact it opens at 8am.
Good stuff: what we did do and see was fun and interesting. The zoo itself is nice and I would recommend it if you're in the area with little kids. It was first time for us seeing a "desert" zoo and we appreciated it.

This zoo is easily worth the drive out from Dubai. One of the best we have been to and there was a lot of construction underway for new enclosures. Reminded us of San Diego zoo in many respects.
It is a large zoo so there is a lot of walking, we went in the morning, took a packed lunch and took our time. So we saw everything, gets a lot busier in the afternoon when the locals arrive.
Women shouldn’t wear shorts and should dress to the knee otherwise you’ll have to buy a gift shop towel to cover up with. It is more conservative in Al Ain that Dubai.

Beautifully laid out world class zoo with many differewnt aminal exhibits in humane settings. The Desert Center is world class LEED and highly educational with interactive ganes fior learning, fantastic displays, history, geology, sciernce, environemnt, not to be missed. Educational bird (parrot) show is worth taking in, highlights the intelligence of the bird kingdom. The great display on date plams, the 13 different varieites, inspiring quotes of how life wasinfluenced by date palms, and the watering system used to sustain them.

We always go to Al Ain, specially in a cold season. We always visit green mubazzarah, jebel hafeet. We tried the Al Ain zoo and its worth a visit. You can feed Giraffes. Lot's of animals even the rare animals you will find it there. They have rhinos, white tigers, different lions (from arabian lions to african lions). Some shops inside so you can buy waters or foods. Al Ain zoo is huge, animals have big cages so means they have big space. You can see them running, walking in their huge cages. We didn't try the desert safari (we don't have enough time) But would love to experience it on our next visit in Al Ain zoo. There's some dress code, no short dress for ladies.

Wow!! Definitely worth your time. Drive from Dubai was about 1 hour or so, easy drive and directions to the zoo are very clear. From the moment we arrived it was amazing, price is super reasonable, place is absolutely spotless. I loved the fact that the animals are in their natural environment, areas are super clean, lots of shade and animals looked really well cared for. Highlight was hand feeding the giraffes. Loved!!! Brilliant day out.

We visited this zoo on a Saturday morning and it was daily quiet at 10am. We got tickets for a family of four for around AED55+ with gov discount - very good deal indeed. We managed to see most of the animals like lion, tiger, leopard, giraffe, hippo and crocodile as mostly was out or under the shades as it was not too hot yet. I can imagine they will hide maybe later in the afternoon when it’s warmer. Overall, the zoo was very well run, clean and lots of space to walk for the kids. Took us almost 3 hours and would recommend especially for a family outing in the winter months.
