It is needless to say that Chernobyl itself is a breathtaking place. The story of a horrendous disaster have coined not only the infamous exclusion zone, but also the personal fates of all those who suffered and sacrificed. What made our day trip there so special for my friend and Jan and me however, was the narrator of that story. Mykhailo went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect on that day. He knows his job very well, and he’s a master at it. Not a single word was said too much, and still he never remained silent. We had many questions, sometimes even about little things and he never failed to amaze us with his knowledge and the amount of detail he puts into his explanations. Have a drone? Don’t worry, Mykhailo will get all the necessary papers for you. Forgot to take a picture? Easy, he will hit that spot again. It was a truly amazing experience, worth every single penny. We met as strangers and left as friends. Keep on rocking bro 🤙🏼

I wanted to visit Chernobyl but also wanted to avoid a big group so that I can focus on what I want to see and as much I want to see. I chose Mihail as I wanted to visit the parts of chernobyl exclusion zone which are not part of one day tour. So Mihail tailor-made the tour for me and I could not expect more. Of course the area is big and can not be covered in one day but I got what I wanted with in one day. Highly recommended .

I have always wanted to visit Chernobyl and the ghost town of Pripyat. I started my search on Google and went though endless companies offering tours. Due to COVID I wanted to try and limit my exposure to strangers so I really didn’t want a group tour. I had looked at these companies private tours but they were super expensive and restrictive! Then I came upon Misha, THE Private Chernobyl Guide. From the minute I first messaged him about my interest he was quick to reply and let me know all the details of what he offers. We settled on a 2 day tour with the ChNPP Basic + tour. Misha made sure I had all the information I needed as we sent emails back and forth. He started setting everything up from the minute I had agreed to it. We messaged back and forth and I felt like I was his only client. His attention to customer service is second to none! On the day of the tour he met me near where I was staying in Kyiv and we started our drive up to Chernobyl in his clean and roomy van. Tho, this wouldn’t just be a regular private tour of Chernobyl, we would be doing this during the snowy February weekend. Misha drove very safely and we chatted along the way. We arrived at the checkpoint with plenty of time before my tour of the Chernobyl NPP. Misha dropped me off and handed me off to the tour guide of the power plant. (Since Misha isn’t involved as being a guide of the power plant I won’t go into details about the tour there, but I highly recommend doing it). Misha met me after the tour of the power plant and we had some time to go to Pripyat and doing a little exploring before the sun set. It was great, but the weather conditions were brutal. Snow and driving winds in 8F (-13C) temperature. The roads inside are not paved at all but Misha was doing an amazing job following the tracks and getting us out of some difficult spots. We arrived at the hotel in Chernobyl for my overnight stay. It is basic but spotless and modern inside. I had a nice dinner with Misha where we chatted about the first day and our lives. The next morning I had breakfast waiting for me downstairs and we were off at 8:30 in the morning to do some more exploring of Pripyat. Misha was able to get me around to all the cool spots and he knows all the coolest places that make for great photographs. It was daunting in the knee high snow and cold temperatures but we got around and saw a lot for our second day. I was truly amazed by seeing it all in person and having Misha there with history and explaining things to me along the way was so invaluable. When we were done for the day we made our way out of the exclusion zone and we stopped off at a nice local restaurant for a late lunch. We chatted, shared some laughs, the photos we took, and life stories. At that point Misha felt like an old friend more then a guide. We had a snowy ride home but made it back safe to my place in Kyiv. After this whole experience I have to say I am so glad that I went with Misha, Private Chernobyl Guide. He is so down to earth, kind, and so knowledgeable about Chernobyl, Pripyat, and Ukraine as a whole. Going to Chernobyl is an amazing experience but what company you pick for your tour will decide how it goes. I highly, HIGHLY recommend booking a tour with Misha. You will not regret it! Thank you again, Misha! :)

My second trip with Misha. As always, a perfect experience, and a lot of places visited that are out of the regular tourist's path. Highly recommended.
