I stayed at this hotel for the second visit and my stay was full of wonders. The staff serve with a smile and always willing to serve. The food is always to my expectation. My room was nice with a new crafty look and nice bed.
I hope to come back soon in November.

Lake Victoria is huge. It’s the second largest freshwater lake in the world, surpassed only by Lake Superior in North America.

Despite the numerous lakes in Uganda, the locals generally don’t swim in them for fear of a dread disease in its waters known as bilharzia (schistosomiasis), which can be lethal. Indeed, thousands of Africans die of bilharzia every year. Although we have boated on Lake Victoria dozens of times, we never had the pleasure of running our fingers through its waters.

One of Lake Vic’s natural wonders is its population of “lake flies”. According to official fly counters, these tiny midges breed and swarm on the lake in the trillions. This is apparently not an exaggeration: In the animal world, no larger swarm roams the earth. In season, the flies rise off the lake in great black clouds and head straight for land, where they hover, swoop, and dive into eyes, mouths, doors, windows, and other available orifices. This is the moment to grab your pizza at lakeside, wrap it in a napkin, leave too much money to cover food and tip, and race home, keeping your mouth shut. Lake flies are harmless, though, and a boon to some. With only one day of life to savor, by morning they have turned into drifts of tiny, exhausted carcasses that litter rooms, doormats, and streets, where the locals sweep them up and fry them as nutritious fly burgers called “kungu”. Fortunately, I’m still a vegetarian.

But Lake Vic gives off a glow: Although thoroughly polluted by sewage from the coastal towns, transporter of the dread bilharzia bug, malaria capital of the world, breeding ground for trillions of swarming flies, crucible of raging storms that, in combination with hippos and crocodiles, take the lives of 5,000 people annually – despite all this, on most days Lake Victoria gives off a glow as serene and mild-mannered as the sunsets that rinse pastels into its waters.

You can sit on its banks sipping a late afternoon red wine and your body begins to feel the lakeside serenity melt into it. Even though your heart may be somewhere else. Even though you’d rather be home with your family doing a noisy, chaotic dinner. That serenity will steal into your bloodstream and still your heart.

We spent two days on Mirembe Beach located on Africa's largest Lake - Victoria. There are numerous Islands on Lake Victoria and we visited three of them. The white sand beaches are truly beautiful and weather is perfect. We had a nature walk in the forests of the Islands and enjoyed fantastic views of monkeys and birds. We also went fishing and were lucky to catch a big Tilapia. You will not regret when you choose to spend your time on the islands of this fresh water Lake.

I recently visited Uganda, staying near Lake Victoria. I went on a Gorilla Safari and visited many different places in Uganda.
I really don't know why it's not a more popular tourist destination other than the Ugandan government does not seem to promote it much! But, the people are really friendly and helpful {their first Language is English} and the country is Beautiful.
I went to so many different locations but to name a few : Merchison Falls national park / Berindi national park / Lake Victoria is not only beautiful but has very reasonably priced restaurants with fresh fish caught from the lake twice a day and entertainment most evenings. I could go on writing for ever so all I can say is don't miss out! Plan a trip to Uganda and you won't regret it.

Its a beautiful view, when you are about to land at Entebbe Airport. You cross the whole lake Victoria, and land over the airport made just after that. You would love the greenery of the country and the view of the lake which you will see quite often throughout.

Lake Victoria is known to be 2nd largest fresh water lake, and is the source of the White Nile river.

I visited the lake on a sunset cruise from Entebbe. In fact, my hotel was also located on the lake shores. It is a massive lake with plenty of bird life. On the cruise, I had the opportunity to take spectacular sunset views. The security of the lake is pretty vigilant, with a helicopter whirring even in the evening. You will notice many fishermen with their small boats plying on the lake. Our cruise was one hour long and took close to a small un-inhabited island with lots of white cranes. It made a good picture taking opportunity.
