"Karibu" is the swahili word for "welcome" - and this is exactly how my wife and I felt during our 2 week trip through Uganda with AfriVenture. Not only because of the energy, entertainment and local knowledge provided by Stuart, our amazing AfriVenture guide, but also because of the sensational local guides, friendly lodge staff and smiling locals. The 12-day "Pearl of Africa" journey from AfriVenture is really unrivalled in what it offers (trust us, we looked). Each activity ensures that you not only get a taste of Uganda, but are fully immersed in everything Uganda has to offer - and that is a lot! Unique national parks, endless rolling hills, the greenest forests, dormant volcanoes, road-side smiles, delicious food, primates, the big 5, cycling, kayaking, trekking, four seasons of weather in a day, sticky mud and thousands of treasured memories are just some of what this tour has to offer. I highly recommend AfriVenture and will definitely be travelling with them again!

If you are thinking about a trip to Uganda, stop thinking and book with AfriVenture! They take the stress of planning and navigating out of the equation so that you are free to relax and have fun. From start to finish you will be in good hands. Our guide Stuart was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and fun and he went out of his way to make sure we did everything our hearts desired. With AfriVenture you don’t just visit Uganda, you completely immerse yourself in a country and culture that has so much to offer. From the quintessential silver back gorillas, hiking the crater lakes and going on a bicycle game ride to the tree climbing lions, and chimp tracking, we were in awe of this stunning place. Stuart pointed out so many things over the course of our cross country road trip that I surprised myself by learning a whole new vocabulary of BIRDS along the way (bonus!!). A truly unforgettable experience! I went to Uganda with AfriVenture for a twelve day tour and left with memories to last a lifetime. I can’t wait to book another destination with AfriVenture in the near future.

We decided to do our 30th birthday trip with a view to primarily see the gorilla's (as this is what everyone speaks of when talking about Uganda!) Well... we were not disappointed - being able to see a 22 year old Silverback 5 metres in front of us really did tick the bucket list! However, gorillas were only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to how majestic Uganda is!!! We were exceptionally lucky to have such an amazing tour group as well as really genuine and passionate tour guides who ensured that each day was unique and definitely packed with adventure. We travelled through rainforests, savannahs, tea farms, villages and even through a game reserve that had palm trees in it! You really don't want to sleep too much when on the road as you might even miss an elephant right next to you! The accommodation was spectacular- From staying in a home-stay and experiencing local food, sleeping in a Geo- dome on Lake Bunyoni and even in a luxury tent that i can definitely now say I have 'glamped!' We felt like after our two week tour - we had accomplished so much - we hiked mountains , canoed across lakes, did a swamp walk, drank African Tea overlooking a crater lake, spotted Tree climbing lions 5km OUTSIDE the gate, Chimp tracked, boated across the Nile & cycled through a National park! Uganda, you have our hearts & we would definitely recommend this BEAUTIFUL African country to ALL! Afriventure - we say it was a once in a lifetime trip - but we are already planning the next one!!

Afriventure took us on the most incredible 12-day journey through magnificent Uganda! Expect an unexpectedly beautiful and culturally rich experience through "the Pearl" with these Mzungus. They arranged our entire tour from accommodation & catering to national park entrances & planned activities. As guests it was made special by the attention to detail that Afriventure put into making this the tour of a lifetime. Our accommodation was so fitting for every aspect of the country they wanted us to experience - from luxury forest tents to appreciate the wilderness around us or home stays with the sampling of local cuisine to immerse ourselves in the cultural richness of Uganda. The activities they planned took us from boat safaris along the banks of the Nile River to the trails of the incredible Mgahinga peaks. We travelled through wildlife reserves & villages, along mountain passes and through dense forest canopies which boasted incredible views and scenery. After having spent time with Chipanzees, elephants, buffalos, giraffes and tree-climbing lions to name a few, our tour with Afriventure eventually culminated in a once-in-a-lifetime experience with the mountain gorillas of the Bwindi reserve. This was our bucketlist trip and Afriventure not only made it one to remember but one to repeat! We had the experience of our lives and adopted the passion that team Afriventure has for adventure travel after being on tour with them. We can't wait to join Afriventure again very soon!

I travelled through Uganda - the Peal of Africa - with AfriVenture. The trip was fabulous and very memorable. It was a 12 day journey through the whole country, we travelled in a very comfortable safari van with a removable top - so we wouldn't miss any of the majestic and fun animals there were to see. Sanja and Stuart from AfriVenture are great hosts that make you feel safe and welcome on their trip. Not only did they organize everything from A to Z (great and fun lodges, meals, authentic home stay, hikes, game drives etc.), they were also able to tell us a lot about the country, the local traditions and people. The tour was a great mix of animal watching (from game drives to gorilla trekking), hikes, bike rides, very scenic drives and cultural visits such as a home stay and the visit of a local school and orphanage. The group was great and fun to travel with. I would do it all over again in a second and I am looking forward to my next tour with AfriVenture.
