We just completed a 4 weeks self drive trip across East Africa with a Land cruiser GX with a rooftop tent. We started in Uganda, through Kenya to Dar es salaam in Tanzania. The jeep was old model but perfect for African rough roads. Gorilla trek in Mgahinga was the highlight of the trip. Ngorongoro crater is a must visit though it is expensive, its worth a visit. Advised to drive carefully in the tracks of Ngorongoro, Serengeti national parks, and hire a park ranger to guide you. He will be of great help in case you are stuck in the remotest parts of the parks. East Africa at large is worth a visit.

We rented a 4x4 for 3 weeks from Arusha and drove up through the parks to Nairobi. Honestly it was the most amazing trip I'm very glad we did it by ourselves I would definitely encourage others to do the same if you want an authentic adventure. Paul has been very helpful throughout from booking and through our rental. He promptly sorted out any problems, when I come back I will be renting from this company again. Here is a few tips of things I would of found useful to know beforehand: If you want to camp in the bush by yourself then book the special campsites well in advance as they book up early. My kenyan evisa didn't come through but I went to the border with my payment receipt and it was fine. You don't need guides to find the animals, just go exploring by yourself and if you want anything specific stop the first 4x4 with a guide you see and ask them what they've seen and where to see it, everyone is super friendly and helpful. When going from ngorongoro to the serengeti you go from national park straight into the next national park there is no area where you can stay inbetween and not pay park fees. Enjoy it!

We went on a 5 day trip to queen Elizabeth national park and Bwindi impenetrable forest in October and I highly recommend this company for a car and driver. They can also set up reservations for you. Our driver Kenny was incredibly knowledgeable and really made the trip special. He was reliable, patient, ffriendly, and went out of his way to make sure everything ran smoothly. We will definitely book with them again! The price was also great

My girlfriend and I did a 3 day trip with 4x4 Uganda to the Murchison Falls National Parc. Thanks to our guide Herbert the trip was just perfect. He showed us so many animals, the way to the most powerfull water fall i have ever seen, and he knows everything about the parc and the animals. Herbert is a very open minded person and a very good and safe driver! It was a pleasure to be with him the 3 days in the jeep and to eat on a beautiful lakeside-hippo-view-spot!! I would definitely recommend the trip with 4x4 Uganda and the price is absolutely worth it! cheers to Herbert. Jerry

We did a 12 day self-drive with the Land Cruiser V8 and had a wonderful experience, thanks to Joseph and 4x4 Uganda. The car worked perfectly during our trip, no issues at all. Service and communication was perfect, especially thanks to the excellent responsiveness, information with regards to the Covid situation and advice on how to setup the trip.
