45 $ a day for a good old Toyota Rav 4, which was the perfect car for our 1 week trip from Kampala to Kigali. It was possible to pick up the car in Uganda and drop it off in Rwanda (one way fee: 150 $). 4x4 Uganda answered all my mails very quickly and the company's employees were very friendly when we met them during pick up and drop off. I can highly recommend this company!

All worked very well with our rental. We contacted Joseph via email and rented a Land Cruiser Prado.
We had the car delivered to Gisenyi (Rwanda) and returned it to Entebbe. Both worked easily.
Joseph also organized Chimpanzee Habituation Experience permits, which were also delivered with the car.
The car itself was good and very reliable - obviously not brand new but overall in good condition. Driving was mostly very easy, as most of the main roads in Uganda are newly paved. For the smaller side roads a 4WD is def recommended and adds confidence when your driving.
Overall a very good experience.

We booked a Toyota TX Prado with a rooftop tent including all the camping gear needed. Joseph was very friendly and made it really convenient to plan the trip, always replying in no time. The car delivery was smooth so was the return. We had no problems or difficulties during our trip, the car brought us safely through all kinds of terrain. If you need pillows for sleeping, bring some for yourselves. We used one sleeping bag as a pillow and the other one as a blanket. Price in March 2022 was 85$ per day. We can highly recommend this rental company.

We decided to do a self drive trip for 15 days and it was really worth it. The team at 4x4 Uganda provided us with all the info and help required to get this trip arranged. The Landcruiser Prado (pop-up roof) was well maintained and did not cause any issues despite the rather challenging terrain.
Very easy to communicate by email or WhatsApp and extremely responsive. The car was delivered to Entebbe and we could drop it off there too, accommodating our wishes as much as possible despite the challenging lockdown restrictions.
Overall we were very happy with the service and cannot recommend them enough.

We had a great trip with 4x4 Uganda. We did a 11 day version of the 12 day self drive missing the white water rafting day.
Communication with Joseph was excellent, we booked a pop top 4x4 Prado, accommodation and chimp/ gorilla permits through 4x4 Uganda and everything was organised perfectly. He was very knowledgeable about the best accommodation and activity options and put together a great trip that fit in with our itinerary.
The Prado we hired was a bit tired cosmetically and had had a tough life, but all the essentials worked perfectly and we had no problems during the trip. Near new off road tires all round made easy work of the mainly gravel roads around the country and the exciting mud holes in the various parks.
A very honest, knowledgeable tourism provider that I would recommend to anyone travelling in Uganda!

We have rented a TLC from 4x4 Uganda for a self drive safari in Kenya. We both are very pleased with all we've got from this rental: the car was exactly what was described, perfect for Kenyan parks and off-park roads, oldschool and very well mantained so quite reliable. Many special thanks for the whole team: the management of the rent was clear and precise. Strongly recommend!

We rented a 4x4 for 3 weeks from Arusha and drove up through the parks to Nairobi. Honestly it was the most amazing trip I'm very glad we did it by ourselves I would definitely encourage others to do the same if you want an authentic adventure.
Paul has been very helpful throughout from booking and through our rental. He promptly sorted out any problems, when I come back I will be renting from this company again.
Here is a few tips of things I would of found useful to know beforehand:
If you want to camp in the bush by yourself then book the special campsites well in advance as they book up early.
My kenyan evisa didn't come through but I went to the border with my payment receipt and it was fine.
You don't need guides to find the animals, just go exploring by yourself and if you want anything specific stop the first 4x4 with a guide you see and ask them what they've seen and where to see it, everyone is super friendly and helpful.
When going from ngorongoro to the serengeti you go from national park straight into the next national park there is no area where you can stay inbetween and not pay park fees.

We booked a car with driver guide for 10 days with 4x4 Uganda. We clarified everything with Joseph in advance, who answered every question, organised the permits for gorillas and chimpanzees without any problems and sent us an invoice and receipt for everything.
Our guide Dan was excellent, he picked us up on time at the airport and explained everything about the animals, regions and culture of Uganda. He is a super driver who knows his way around perfectly so that we arrived everywhere quickly and safely. With his help and his good network, we were able to see everything Uganda has to offer in terms of wildlife.
We would definitely recommend booking with 4x4 Uganda and choosing Dan as guide.

4*4 Uganda were great. The vehicle was reliable and reasonable and they were very accommodating with drop off and pick up. Staff were friendly and responsive.
Having to receive the vehicle and return it on an empty tank was challenging and stressful. Perhaps they could review this policy?

4x4 Uganda provided us with a Toyota landcruiser (automatic) during our 3 week holiday in Uganda. Although it was a used car it served us really well, even all the way up north in Kidepo. The staff responded very quickly, payment methods were clean and quick and they could help us with several requests. When a small repair on the front left of the body was required they hooked us up nicely with a mechanic along our route and refunded the repair costs after our trip.
Altogether a good company, fair prices. Thanks guys, we had a great trip!
