A lovely set of water falls.
Feb 2020
Water falls were partly frozen over and made a lovely display. The snow at the site was about 6 inches and care was needed for the visit. The walkway was icy. There was a tea house available with snacks.

Spectacular View of Muradiye Waterfall
May 2019
Muradiye Waterfall
Located within the district of Muradiye, this waterfall is 80 kilometers away from Van and its height 50 meters. The waterfall is named after Ottoman IV. since he stopped here with his men on his conquest to Bagdad. The waterfall is on the Bend-iMahi River which comes from the Tendürek Mountain. The waterfall houses pearl mullet (inci kefali)-the only fish that exists in Lake Van during their incubation because pearl mullet cannot lay their eggs in Lake Van due to its salty water mixed with soda. Although there is a picnic area near the waterfall, it is not recommended for a picnic since it is not well taken care of. Just visit to take pictures and enjoy the spectacular view.

The Waterfall and Green Area
May 2019 • Friends
If you are in Van, the Muradiye Waterfalls are worth to see. The Waterfall fall is in Muradiye nearby Ercis. You can easily watch the waterfall from the green area infront of it. There are some cafes and kiosks. However, if you will make a visit at the weekend, the green area can be very crowded due to the picnic activities of the local people.

Fabulous waterfall Close to main road
Jul 2018
We just saw the sign on the road and immediately stop just to quick look. It is very close to main road. There is a small hanging bridge for pedestrians. You can take photos just after bridge. The you could walk down to riverside.

History and Nature
May 2018
About 80 kms. of driving distance from the center of Van city, these lovely falls are named after the Ottoman Sultan Mourad IV, Conqueror of Bagdad, which was held by Persians at the time. Sultan Mourad IV set up camp in this beautiful area for respite during his Bagdad Campaign to rejuvenate and reinforce his army. The falls are indeed beautiful. One gets there by a suspended wooden bridge, after leaving his car in the parking area. Although there is a small tea house and gift shop by the falls, it was closed during my visit because of Ramadan. It would be great to picnic and enjoy tea there, but please be aware of keeping the grounds clean! That was the only disappointment I had to have seen garbage thrown around in spite of the presence of a big bin. The grounds are beautiful, however the neglect in maintenance causes me to take off a rating point. This is a common responsibility of visitors as well as groundkeepers!.

Average and very dirty. Come only if you have your own vehicle.

While the volume of the water at least now-may,,june- and the visual aspect of the falls may merit a better review, the garbage and stench on site together with the time consumed to get there on public transport make me much harsner.
I visited on a ramadan weekday which means the place was quieter and cleaner than normal and still the amount of garbage everywhere was depressing and the smells-sewage, feces, decomposing rubbish?- were at some points overpowering.
Having your own car it can be a nice stop on the van- dogubayazit road and there are a few nearby sights o squeeze in but by bus, not a good idea. If you do, dont take the Murdiya minibus from van but the dogubayazit bus leaving at 7.30, 9, 12. About 1 hour to the falls.

Beautiful
Jul 2017 • Couples
Not the Niagara Falls but I enjoyed Muradiye Salalesi more! Firstly they are pretty spectacular water falls for this part of the world. We live in Cyprus. Secondly it has a lovely atmosphere with local people just enjoying being outside or sipping a glass of tea. High light was an old lady from Istanbul with mountain goat skills climbing up the wet rocks in a pair of flip flops with her beautifully dressed daughter looking on. The nearby town of Muradiye is also worth a visit and a stay. The people are so welcoming. Even a hoca and an old man not to mention younger boys wanted to take photos with us. As a taxindriver put it using Google translate " We like people".

Beautiful site
May 2017 • Friends
Beautiful site but not a huge waterfall. There's a small chai hut and a couple of toilets - should you succumb to nature!
Those with a fear of heights or rickety rope bridges should perhaps give it a miss!

Stunning

Lovely waterfall and popular with newlyweds for photos. So look out for bride and grooms everywhere. Walk across a wooden suspension bridge from the car park to get excellent views from a cafe across from the waterfall.
