We had a fun time at the Dalyan mud bath and thermal spring today. We walked along the river path to the small car ferry (foot passengers 10TL pp each way ...about 15p) -which is about half a mile north of the town. The mud bath complex is clearly visible across the other (west) side but on arrival we were faced with a locked entrance gate and nobody in sight. A phone number is posted to call, but with a UK sim card you have no chance of that. Clearly most punters arrive by river on organised boat tours. We returned the 100m to the ferry where a kind local lady selling drinks called them for us and they came down and let us in. Very friendly folk. We paid 90TL each (under £3pp) entrance fee and began slopping mud on to let it dry before getting showered and hosed off. The sulphur smell was not strong at all. Be careful underfoot in the mud bath as it is slippy and uneven in places. After cleaning up there is a thermal spring fed pool to relax in and I read it was 40°. We were there just over an hour and thought it was great fun.

Amazing trip to see the turtles/beach, ruins, mud bath and thermal pool. Well worth the trip and overnight option good for late night flights or early morning flights. You get a meal on one part of the trip before the ruins and beach, the drinks are extra. The canal boat has reasonable beer/soft drink prices. There is a bar/cafe at the mud baths and turtle beach. The beach is real sand not like the grainy one at Marmaris.
You get picked up from your hotel then you go to the boat and your journey starts there and back at the hotel if staying for your room, evening meal not including drinks, beer is £5 the shop next door you can get two bottles of Effes cheaper.
The hotel is ok but shower head was faulty and the hotel was a bit dated. Beds were comfy and food was nice. It's the Dalman Airport hotel we stayed at its 15 mins from the airport.

We visited on our way back from an organised local boat trip to the market. We stopped there for about 1 hour which was too short, two hours is more than adequate. The place is very “rustic” no frills, no health and safety but thats part of the charm. Not commercialised. It cost 75p each to get in, that got you a mud wallow, wash off in the lake or shower. There are also sulphur hot springs that you can sit in. Bit smelly but all good fun. There was also a thing were you dip you feet in water and the hungry fish eat all the dead stuff. This was £2.50 extra. All good fun. Worth a visit.

We arrived in Dalyan from Fethiye with a wonderful Saturday mood)
At the same time we decided to try the sources)
They charged 20 Lira per person)
For a boat 1000 Lira)
It's not the season, that's why the price is so sweet!😊
Terrible locker rooms, toilets, no service.
They forgot to warn or put up a sign indicating that silver jewelry is not allowed there 🚫
Damaged ancient jewelry, which is of great value, was ruined in a second.
Just like everyone else's mood.
The careless attitude of the Turks in everything is almost no longer surprising...

We stopped off at the mud baths at the end of our dalyan cruise and wish we would have spent more time at the beautifully quiet turtle beach instead!
We are here on last day of the season so very quiet but still with 150 odd people felt pretty awful. Your firstly ushered through a canteen to pay and then after changing in one of 8 cabins (no idea how that works in summer) you lower yourself on slippery rock steps with no handrail into the water. It does smell but that’s to be expected with the sulphur and not reflected in this review.
You then have to scrape the mud off the bottom of the pond and there just isn’t much at all - your getting gravel at the same time, once you’ve gone through this - probably crammed in like sardines if it’s peak, you stand under a freezing shower to wash it off and then walk back over the gravel to the thermal pool.
Before entering the pool a guy who looks like he gets no joy from life whatsoever then hoses you down to make sure your clean. If you scream he just changes the angle. No hose, no entry, you then descend into a 1.7m pool which is around 7x5m which is murky, has stuff floating in it and you can’t safely sit and relax as bar the steps where you enter you just cling to the edges as can’t stand.
You then have to try to get out past whoever might be sat on the steps who inevitably will tut at you for disturbing there wash in basically mud soup.
I’m pretty sure this place would be closed down in the UK for hygiene measures and is Definately not a spa and wellness centre.
On the plus side for the family of 4 it was 600tl.

Went on a boat trip to visit a few attractions, the mud bath being one of them.
Felt quit rushed and getting out of the mud bath you had to walk over stones wish was very painful.
The tour guide should have told people to go to the bath with shoes on that they then took of before entering the baths and then putting them on to walk to the showers.
The people policing the bath had no interpersonal skills and were very rude to say the least.
Apparently there are a few baths but the one we went to was the oldest according to our guide.

This natural resource is unique. However sharp and slippery floors made for a risky experience.
The whole experience baths and facilities need a serious upgrade and it could easily be safer and more attractive.
I did not enter fully into the mud bath for fear of slipping.
The thermal bath was difficult to enter and exit.
Showers and changes were impractical.
Catering staff were very accomidating and professional

Went here as part of Dalyan river cruise / turtle beach excursion.
Not good for those with mobility issues.. very slippy in and around the mud.
Once covered in mud you are advised to climb onto the wall around the mud bath to cover your legs. No hand rails or steps.
Then the walk of pain across the stones ti the shower area. There really should be a wooden path way installed ans the floor was very hot and the stones were hurting most peoples feet.
Then onto thermal.spa... if you can get into it with the amount of people sitting around the edge preveting others getting in or out of the pool !
All in all I am glad i went but wouldnt go again
Make sure you take your flip flops to the mud bath and can access them.easily to get to the showers

Wet yesterday 9th Sep 2024 for the TurtleBeach tour and honestly it was way below expectations in comparison with other tours, below is my comments in details;
* the start p took more than 2 hours to reach the fist break and which was frustrating (no music and entertainment at all)
* the boat (Barkas) doesn’t have many shaded areas so you end up straight facing the sun the whole trip
*the stops weren’t interesting (no happy ending) and barely spot any turtles
* too long (9 hours) and not worth it
* I end up with sun stroke and sick for the rest of the vacation.

We had a great time at the mud baths, learning about the different types of mud and where best to put them. It is a bit slippery we felt like we wanted water shoes but that would mean no mud on our feet. It’s great fun and how many times can you say you had a proper mud bath?
The staff were very attentive and helped to hose us down, but the hose and showers are freezing so be warned! We didn’t know about any thermal baths till reading the reviews here! Perhaps that is a failing on Jet2 or they aren’t running in October but that is disappointing. We also would have liked longer at the mud baths, we only had an hour as part of our Jet2 tour and the mud only just set. We left with our skin feeling smoother though!

Would you recommend old clothes or does the mud come out?
Written August 11, 2018
Most definitely old clothes. The mud comes out, but you would have to take home to wash properly as it sticks.
It comes off swimwear ok.

Are there lockers or anything to keep our belongings safe while we’re in the mud bath?
Written May 18, 2018
No lockers. We left our things on one of the tables covered with towels which are in full view of the mud baths. It was no problem.

Hi, just wondering how deep the mud bath and mineral pool is. I'm very short and not a great swimmer. Thank you

Do you need to have injections to travel to turkey , thinking if going to mud baths may need them??
Written January 5, 2018
The mud in Dalyan is brought in as dried mud and rehydrated. It is changed regularly and is hygienic. You can even buy it to take home. There is no need for immunisation before travel to resorts in Turkey.

We are heading to dalaman this Wednesday and planning to hire our own car - will this attraction still be open being November by then ? If so, can we book the mud bath experience direct please? Thank you in advance - Louisa

Trip is a bit busy on and off busses and a small boat. if child is restless then I would say no as you don't relax until you get to turtle beach. if you decide to go take plenty to eat & drink for child as it's the usual chicken n chips to lunch. hope this helps
