2 families (4 adults, 4 kids) shared an extraordinary 5 days and nights on board Zig Zag . We had little sailing experience but Patrick, the Captain, informed and engaged us as we chose. We explored coves, tiny restaurants, played Swallows and Amazons cooking on a secluded beach under the stars, saw a Sperm whale and snorkelled at every opportunity. Zig Zag is deceptively capacious and well equipped, quick and elegant. Patrick is charming, calm, confident and unintrusive. Quite possibly the most relaxed I have ever been. I cannot recommend this highly enough especially if you have never sailed and would like to try it.

Thank you so much for the review Sean, the experience was also entirely enjoyable for me also. I am so glad you enjoyed the cruise. If you have time to send me the photo of the whale (I think you got a shot of the tail on diving?), I will send it to the Cetacean Society in the UK for an ID confirmation and for them to record the sighting. Very much hoping to see you again sometime. Patrick.

Four couples and a captain on a boat for a week might lead to problems but not here! Patrick, the Captain and owner has, along with his wife, kitted out the catamaran to give maximum comfort and privacy. The choice was ours as to where we went, weather allowing, but flexibility was the name of the game. We visited some of the most beautiful places, saw dolphins and turtles, snorkelled amongst ruins, walked to ancient cities and tombs and got some great days sailing. The weather was idyllic which always helps but I think it would have been great whatever the weather! Patrick is a very calm Helm and instructed us all with what needed to be done before it happened, which was great for those of us with little or no sailing experience. We could get involved as much or as little as we wanted. Every evening we enjoyed a different restaurant, all isolated and only reached by boat and family run. Wonderful food everywhere and often breakfast too! What more could you want? The Turkish people are welcoming and accommodating. At the time of our visit there was no impact from the Syrian crisis whatsoever, so do not be put off from visiting this area. All in all, the most relaxing and yes, the best holiday we have ever had! A previous review said try and you will be hooked - how true! Looking forward to planning a return trip.......!

We had an amazing holiday on Zigzag last year with my parents (aged 81) our daughter (aged 5 years) and our son (6 months). I must divulge that the brilliantly able Captain Truscott is, in fact my brother.........but believe me when I say that he accommodated all our needs (as you can imagine they were diverse needs!) with ease and made us feel welcome and safe all the time we were there. He knows all the very best spots to anchor for swimming, walking, sight seeing and for spotting wildlife (turtles, dolphins, flying fish and more), not to mention all the best, hidden away waterside restaurants where Patrick has good relations so we were always welcomed warmly and treated well. Turkey is a beautiful country in so many ways and I am quite in love with its warm, friendly people and its delicious food as well as its stunning scenery (and I know about stunning scenery, I come from Cornwall!). The sea-swimming is amazing and the crystal-clear, warm water is so inviting we all swam several times a day (a brilliant swim-ladder made it easy to get in and out of the water, even for the eldest and youngest 'crew members'. There are plenty of masks and snorkels on board so you can float around enjoying the beautiful fish or, like I did, spend time diving for urchins and shells. As a keen photographer I hardly dared put my camera down for fear of missing the next turtle, flying fish, stunning piece of coastline or beautiful ancient ruins....oh and the sunsets are unmissable too! Patrick can competently sail the boat completely on his own but is always happy when others want to get involved with sailing her so you can do as much actual sailing as you like or (as I mostly did) treat her like a floating apartment - magical! Zigzag herself is a beautiful boat and is wonderfully furnished and decorated by Patrick's wife, Yelda, in beautiful Turkish style. The twin hulls provide plenty of space to sleep and stow lots of things (such as baby equipment!) and I was delighted to find that all cabins have en-suites! Don't hesitate, book today. You won't regret it.

All ‘Wow’ s and ‘smiles’ :-)) on arrival. More luxurious, spacious and homely than imagined. Great privacy – four cosy bedroom ‘wings’ each with cute en-suite in two hulls with good storage. Beautiful bedding, decor and paintings with artistic flavours from the welcoming owners’ birthplaces (Turkey and Cornwall, UK). July gave continual sunshine (30-37 degrees), but not difficult to keep cool under clever on-board shades, lounging on the trampoline, or slipping over and again into the beautiful, clean, deep blue 27 degree sea. Seabathing and exploring the amazing, diverse multiple islands, peninsulas and shoreline with wonderful deserted historical sites, wild herbs, and beaches. Lazy glorious daily sunsets over the multiple layers of mountainous land and sea. Going ashore for evening mezze to picturesque tavernas only reached by boat. Eating delicious simple Turkish ingredients (figs, honey, cheese, halva, flat-breads, olives, Turkish coffee/chai) onboard. Friendly visits from boat shops. Sailing smoothly on Zigzag = ideal for those unsure of their sea-legs, yet rewarding for those who want to enjoy her speed. Reassuringly Captain Patrick uses his experience to handle everything with absolute competence and calm and offers great appropriate suggestions for each day’s itinerary. More relaxing than normal holidays (unusually from very first day!). Can’t wait to be back onboard for our annual dose of calm, exploration and freedom. We cannot recommend Zigzag chartering highly enough – just try it and you will be hooked!
