- Claire PMusselburgh, United Kingdom27 contributionsNice views out to seaLovely setting, with plentiful sunbeds & parasols available, with beautiful views out to sea. 1 slight downside was the dog dirt & cigarette ends in the sand around the sunbeds. Despite this the water was clean, just watch for the steep sandbank at the shore line & pebbly/shelly sand. Lots of bars & restaurants along the promenade to get refreshmentsVisited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 21, 2023
- Kim DTweed Heads, Australia462 contributionsNot wanting to visit again quickly.Srayed in Fethiye and wslked to Calis Beach. Took about 11/2 hours andcwas the best thing we did for the day. Beautiful stroll along the waterfront and came across one of the best parks we have seen anywhere. Calis Beach was simply disappointing. Yes it was the off season and a lot of things were closed down, but it was dirty with litter, cigarette butts, plastic bags, water bottles and more. Do they only take pride in their area and the enviroment during the tourist season for the money. I can not comment on the summer season, but I'm glad we walked and didn't pay the measly 24 lire to get there.Visited January 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten January 22, 2024
- Evelyn15 contributionsGreat place to relaxLoved the beachfront , always a breeze which in June was a blessing Cafes and bars in abundance, great choice of places to eat and drink Calis beach has everything you need for a day on the sand . Friendly people …. Lots to just sit and enjoy a drink and people watch Evening time has the best sunset everVisited June 2023Traveled soloWritten March 7, 2024
- Ian C22 contributionsCalis beachCalis beach is sadly and possibly not the best of beaches as in stray dogs, disgarded cigarette ends etc but the greater area of Fethiye including Olu Deniz is in my opinion one of if not the most beautiful areas in Turkey and once you have been seduced by the fantastic sunset every evening you will return I'm sure. Also prices in Turkey are crazy atm but here in Calis you can still bag a bargain. Hasten to add we loved it so much we bought an apartment back in 2005 and still spend 6 months a year here.Visited June 2024Traveled with familyWritten June 9, 2024
- JJ H9 contributionsGreat sunsetsNot the best beach as is mainly shale not sand but plenty of sunbeds to relax on. Aqua shoes recommended. Bit of an inclune into/out of the sea. Long promenade with lots of restaurants and shops.Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten July 6, 2024
- James S30 contributionsA mixed bagA bit of a mixed bag. Some of the people were incredibly friendly, the water taxi captains were great and some of the shop keepers were nice, however, a lot of the shop keepers are very pushy and can be quite rude even when you are in the middle of buying something. I’m a big guy and was often referred to as jelly belly. I’m sure it’s a cultural thing but I wasn’t keen. There are quite a lot of dogs around but they all seem friendly enough and well looked after. There are loads of shops selling different things. Fetiyhe is about 25 minutes on the water taxi and it costs about £2.50 return.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 11, 2024
- Bean-BugglesPlumsteadville, Pennsylvania721 contributionsSunsets are incredible hereCan’t speak for the use of the beach, but the promenade is great and the sunsets are incredible. Its quite hot to walk the promenade during the day so we only ever did in the mornings or evenings after 7:30pm (visited in August). We typically preferred our small stretch of promenade next to the Sundia resort that had wonderful restaurants, cafes for coffee, some shops, and ATM’s. Even though we stayed in Fethiye, we preferred the Oludeniz beaches and didn’t swim here given the reviews.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 20, 2024
- Dazz-SarahSedgley, United Kingdom88 contributionsHit and miss...visit at night and you won't see the litter 😆Hit and miss, Positives were; Beautiful sunsets / nice selection of restaurants and shops / lots of friendly dogs / sea was warm / our area outside sundia was clean on beach / relaxing vibe / handmade market at night / sea is calm upto 12 am / not too busy Negatives were; Beach is full of fag ends / litter is a problem on beach and back streets / sea is rough after 12pmVisited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 26, 2024
- EcosseClanMotherwell, United Kingdom92 contributionsBeautiful sunsets but too much litter on the beachBeautiful views from the pebble and gravel beach and absolutely stunning sunsets but if you want to take nice photos on the beach you better be prepared to do a litter pick first, loads of plastic " cups bottles straws metal bottle caps cigarette packets ect " on it and there is cigarette stubs everywhere especially around the sunbeds, I started each of my days doing a litter pick with another few done throughout the day as more litter is left to replace what you had just cleaned up, I enjoyed my holiday but was extremely saddened at the daily mess left on the beach which was still there the next morning, the bins on the promenade are emptied though which more often than not are overflowing and the promanade is washed " early morning " but not once did i see the beach being cleaned in the 21 days i was there ? Also, the many dogs that frequent the beach, on their own i may add also use it as a toilet so be careful where you put your feet as no one cleans that up either and neither did I. I feel heart sorry for the turtles that come to lay their eggs there. Turkey is a beautiful country, and I enjoyed my time there very much, but the beach is being neglected and is being abused by thoughtless uncaring humans. Oh I Just realised I never took any photos of the litter as I was more interested in cleaning it than photographing it, some people thanked me for cleaning up and some just looked bemused at me but no one helped me. I made a few videos on the beach an took a few photos but i cleaned the rubbish up first to make them look better for social media than they really were, easier to do that than edit it out when you get back home. Sorry if this a negative revie but it is the truth of what i saw and experienced, would I go back though ? Yes i would as the positives outweighed the negatives for meVisited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 28, 2024

Calis Beach is a fantastic location. The beach is shingle but great swimming, recommend little swimming shoes, we bought these in Lidl on beach front,cost£4. We were there in June, struggled to find enough shade on Calis so spent most of our time at the Help beach and yacht club, which is absolutely fantastic. It was a 15 minute taxi ride costing £15 return. Sun beds and umbrella cost £10 per person, great swimming service to sunbed and superb restaurants. Also recommend the boat trips to the island, a full day including lunch, around £15 depending who you book with. Pick up at hotel around 10 and return around 6pm, swimming off the biat at all the islands, absolutely wonderful. Spoiled for choice with restaurants in Calis. Disappointed we couldn't book Ada restaurant, accessed by boat as it was fully booked on my list for next visit.
We stayed in Harmon Hotel, it is 24 years old and a little tired but it was absolutely spotless clean, both rooms public areas and breakfast areas. Clean sheets and towels every 2 days, have read some negative comments on the Hotel we were recommended by friends and will definitely be going back. Staff helpful friendly and humorous, helpful with all our requests 😀

We went in 2019 September coming up for end of season
We book up a small hotel based on the sea front ( name of hotel escapes me at moment will fill in another time ) , stayed for 10 days , we are lucky enough to have friends who come over yearly and we arranged to meet up , and show us about , we stayed as B&B so ate out every night, the hotel’s breakfast was 2 star , which was a shame as they could of done so much better.
On a previous trip we went to the Blue Logon , very nice beach area, and hang gliders too
We loved the Sunday market, olive gardens is a must to go too. The food restaurants that the locals go to are cheaper than along the front,
It’s a shame the beach is not cleaned every day, as by the time we were there it was fag butt beach, (they don’t love there beach )
There’s some locals who try there luck to fleece you with there wears, but unlucky for the them the local constabulary were about.
Every restaurant along the front we ate in were super friendly, and you always find a funny guy, the bars all have telly’s for the football fans, the local beers is good too.
The weather is what makes me happy, the locals are great , taxis are cheap,
I will add more as I remember it.
Can’t wait to go again, for longer I think as it’s so cheap to eat out and live out there . Not many places I want to go back to again. This is number 2 on my list , of places to revisit.

Loved the water taxi from Calis Beach to Fethiye. It only cost about £1.20 and was well worth the money. Ok, the bus is cheaper but for the views, lovely breeze and pure relaxation it is well worth the small extra cost. The water taxi runs every 30mins and provide drinks etc if required, if you’re in Fethiye give it a go!

Been coming here for 20 years and it was always well known for its friendly cheap meals especially for big families but honestly never known it so expensive. Not even like you get your monies worth. Most restaurants are mediocre if not poor meals and alcoholic drinks out are cheaper to buy in England now. They are literally ripping people off left right and centre. It’s a disgrace and sadly I think it will come around and bite them in the a@@@. Olu Deniz is now cheaper than here (that was unheard of!) and 20 times more beautiful and fun for kids!

We have just returned from Calis Beach Turkey.
We once owned an apartment in this resort from 2010-2016
This was the second time since 2016 we have returned to Calis beach and have decided it will be our last.
Unfortunately things have changed since 2010 and not for the better.
The traffic has quadrupled to the levels of the sound of vehicles from the hotel virtually all night and day.
The food is much more expensive and the portions far smaller than previous visits.
Calis Beach seems to have gone down in my opinion the pavements are very unstable in places.
The local shops offering fake designer wear, bags etc are no longer appealing and the owners can sometimes be rude if you do not take a look at their fake products.
We stayed at the Oykun Hotel for the second time the first time in 2018 but the hotel is in a time warp needs updating badly full refurbishment and new sinners and umbrellas which the existing ones must be at least 20 years old.
We loved Calis Beach in the past and have very fond memories but for us we will not be returning.
The resort has changed and in places is very dirty and unkept.
Very sad but that’s life

Çalış is a great little place within the Fethiye area. We come back year after year. Sometimes as often as 3 times a year. Working in a school means I have to pay top price for holidays, i find that my money goes further here. They have some excellent hotels and top notch restaurants even on the sea front they're not too expensive. There are several rather good fish restaurants, e en fish and chip restaurants. There's a good market twice a week, with a good dolmuş/ bus service if you're mobility isn't too good. (You can hire an electric buggy) the weather is good most of the season, so may to September with August being the hotest. Some good bargains to be had in the shops, (be prepared to haggle it's expected) Tipping isn't compulsory but you will get good service. I've spent a lot of time over the years in Turkey, visited some lovely places all around the country, çalış plajı seems to be my favourite.

Çalis beach has nice café where you can sit by the beach and enjoy a beautiful sunset. There is also a nice promenade where you can have a nice stroll by the beach. Another option is to sit by the beach restaurants and enjoy live music either as a couple or group of friends. The only negative point is that the “sand” is quite dark and lots of gravels which for me is a turnoff. It is not one of my favourite beaches to swim in. Otherwise, it is pleasant to hang out at Çalis beach.

Just returned from Calis Beach and it didn't live up to expectations. It seems that prices have increased but quality has gone down. As an aside, just a note on withdrawing cash from the ATMs, people should be aware that most of them now charge a fee of 6.99% on top of the usual 11 TRY, so avoid using travel money cards for this and take cash with you. There are a few restaurants on the beach front and main street that offer great food and drink at a reasonable price and we'll review them separately but the good old days of free starters and shots afterwards etc. seem to have gone. I appreciate that everyone is trying to recoup their losses from the last couple of years but all in all, they don't seem too bothered and once they've enticed you in are not very attentive. Outside of the hotels and away from the waterfront and the place is a bit of a dump. Around every corner the streets are littered with rubbish. The left hand end of the seafront towards the nature sanctuary is now very rundown and whilst we never felt unsafe, it's not somewhere that looks very inviting. Maybe if we had been able to take our holiday when we booked it 3 years ago it would have been good but sadly I don't think it was worth holding out for. Several 'regulars' that we spoke to, said that it was much busier and not as good quality as it used to be and unfortunately I'd have to agree. Calis Beach, we won't be back.

The area along the promenade has been newly renovated since our last visit and it looks lovely. I was apprehensive and didn't know what to expect, however I think it is a real asset to the area. I would suggest looking further afield than the promenade area for places to eat and drink, and you will find lots of choices but with more favourable prices for food and drink. Market on a Sunday is huge and worth a visit if you are looking for cheap and copy goods. The fruit & veg stalls are something to see. There are several tour operators near and on the front, offering a wide variety of places to go, many of them making a good day out. The water taxi from Calis to Fethiye, is a must and for £2, it is the best £2 ever spent.

This is apparently one of the best reviewed beaches in the area. Not sure why.
Views are beautiful but the beach itself isnt great. A pebbly beach with lots of rubbish on it.
The bars and restaurants on the beach front are ok .
The one good thing was how quiet it was on the day that we went.
The one thing we did do that we would strongly recommend was the sunset walk back to Fethiye centre. Beautiful!!

I am visiting Calis in two weeks. Is there a Padi dive centre?
Or the closest to Calis
Thank you

Hi I have just completed 4 dives with European dive centre. They leave from Fetiyer but will pick you up and drop you off. Price is £49 per day inc 2 dives and lunch.
Very professional, I hadn’t been able to dive for 9 months and relatively new to diving, they were lovely very helpful and really put me at ease. Would definitely recommend them.
