I can highly recommend a gulet cruise with Arkadaslik Yachting. We had a marvellous time on the Kekova cruise which sails from Fethiye to Demre and back over a week. The boat is a traditional gulet which has been lovingly restored and has 4 beautiful en-suite cabins so can accommodate a maximum of 8 guests. We were a party of 6, 2 couples and 2 single ladies and we all got along famously with the help of wonderful hosts, Sue and Captain Oktay. We couldn't have asked for better hosts. Sue was a great guide and delightful to talk to and Oktay sailed the gulet with great skill knowing these waters so well. Land excursions are available (we took three) and the gulet has kayaks, paddle boards and snorkelling equipment. If you want a relaxing holiday, swimming in warm, crystal clear blue water, exploring ancients sites and picturesque harbour villages and towns, enjoying great home cooked food and good conversation over a glass of wine or two this is the holiday for you. All food and drink (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) are included in the price which is very good value.

Dear Chris,
Thank you for your kind review. I think it is fair to say we (the crew) enjoyed the trip as much as you did! Covid regulations kept us close to home in 2020, so it was exhilarating to, once again, travel the Lycian coast with guests who enjoy exploring as much as we do.
Thank you for joining us. Lots of love from all of us,

Last year's cruise with Arkadaslik was memorable. We decided to book again this year for a different route and it was even better!
Sailing with Captain Oktay, Sue, Ozan and Davut was safe, friendly, funny and entertaining. The atmosphere was relaxed and the crew very attentive to our smallest needs. The food last year was great with chef Mehmet but it got even better this time with delicious dishes from Ozan: at every meal time we were excited to see what he will serve us!!
We enjoyed swimming, snorkeling and sightseeing among ruins, fishing...Our day trip to Dalyan was a great experience too!
We felt that 5 days were definitely not enough compared to our 8 days last year but we plan to come back next summer for a different itinerary!
If you plan to sail Turkey's Mediterranean coast then Arkadaslik Yachting is the right choice : we do highly recommend them!!

Dear Sana,
We absolutely love hosting your family and are looking forward to cruise #3. Let's keep our fingers crossed that the border between Greece and Turkey remains open next year so we can explore the Greek islands of Rhodes, Symi, and Halki together. It will be a blast.
I'll pass along your kind words to Ozan. He's quite a talent in the kitchen! (To be honest, we were delighted with all our crew this year.) I think guests can tell that we all enjoy our work.
Until we meet again, please stay safe and keep well. From our family to yours, we're sending lots of love,
Sue, Captain Oktay, Chef Ozan, and Sailor Davut.

We had amazing trip aboard the Arkadaslik and did not want to leave. The boat is beautiful and kept in immaculate condition. But better than the boat was the crew. Sue, captain Oktay, and sailor Ozan became fast friends and we cannot wait to plan another trip with them.
We did a 5 day cruise around the Gocek islands and the crew put us in some perfect bays each day for swimming and lounging. We became spoiled with the service on board and they were always quick with the drink refills. Oktay even made a floating tray with a pool noodle for our beers and Sue invented a new drink called “Sue’s Texas Tea”. In the evenings we went on hikes to ancient ruins and one day visited some local villagers. The food was amazing. We couldn’t believe what the chef was able to create in that little kitchen. You will NOT go hungry on this boat.
On top of the wonderful service on board, Sue organized our transportation to and from the airport and she even had a lab technician meet us on the boat to do our Covid tests for our entry back to the states. We were truly sad to see them pull out of the harbor our last day. I would highly recommend the Arkadaslik and her crew to anyone thinking of doing a cruise like this. We will be counting the days until we can come back again.

Thank you for your awesome review!
Your cruise was such a long time in planning (darned Covid!) that we felt like we were welcoming long-time friends onboard. It was definitely a good match!
We look forward to seeing you again sometime. (Did you hear that the Greek Turkish borders reopened this week?)

Our second cruise with Captain Oktay, Sue and the Crew - and we have already booked again! This one was quite literally a Cruise and a Half because we had fuel pump trouble right at the start. That said, the situation was handled very professionally and flexibility amongst our fellow cruisers meant that we ended up having 10 days for the price of 7. The situation was not without its modest inconveniences but once we got underway we had a blast! Lovely crew, lovely food, wonderful company and an amazing adventure. If you are having any doubts about booking a cruise with Arkadaslik, put them away and book with confidence. You certainly won’t regret it 😁

Thanks for your kind feedback, Jan! The first cruise of the season often seems to have a hiccup or two, and this year was no different. Fortunately, you (and the other guests) were gracious and flexible so we could sort out the problems and proceed as planned.
We look forward to travelling with you again!
Lots of love from all of us to you and the Manjamma Man!

Thanks very much for your review, Villabadem. We're so glad you enjoyed your time aboard Arkadaslik - maybe next time you'll be able to join us for a longer trip. Three days really fly by. I'll pass along your compliments to Oktay and the rest of the team.
Take care! And feel free to stop by the boat any time you see us in the harbour.

Having just spent four days cruising with Arkadaslik Yachting, I can thoroughly recommend a cruise on their Gulet. We were very well looked after from the onset. Comfortable cabins, fabulous food, superb service and an interesting itinerary. Host Sue, Captain Oktay, chef Hussain and crewman Ozy looked after our every needs. All covid 19 protocols were observed meticulously and we all felt safe in our floating environment. A great cruise with great people.

Thanks for your kind review, John! And thank you for sharing some of your photos. We had a fabulous time hosting you, Margaret, and the rest of the group - and will never forget our first cruise of the 2020 season.
We appreciated your patience and understanding as we worked out a few of the "first cruise of the season hiccups" and got comfortable with our Covid-19 procedures. "Has everyone sanitized?" Thank you. We look forward to seeing you again. In the meantime, stay safe.
Warmest regards from me and the rest of the crew!

Our party of 6 adults family members spent a wonderful 6 days on board the Gulet boat Arkadaslik. Sue was great at informing us every morning on our daily planning. We had very interesting conversations with her and were given so much information about places we visited. Octay is a great capitain and we always felt safe. Together they offered us a great itinerary. We boarded at Kalkan harbour, visited wonderful places like Aquarium Bay, Sunken City of Kekova, Simena castle, Gemiler Island and Ölüdeniz ( where Sue organized Paragliding for us. So so worth it) Our adventure ended in Fethiye harbour. We were always quite comfortable for the size of our party. Each bedroom has a private bathroom with shower, front of boat has space for sunbathing or for shade if desired and some of us spent some nights sleeping under the stars. Every meal was taken at the covered back of boat which is spacious enough for a group greater than ours. The crew were very helpful and catered to our needs, especially the cook who always served us delicious meals. We would definitely love to do this again and highly recommend Arkadaslik for your vacation and unique experience.

We were able to book a last minute cabin on a shared cruise following a cancellation. This was a trip that we has always wanted to take and we were not disappointed.
Everything was to a very high standard. Sue, Oktay, Ozzie and Davut were very attentive without being intrusive. The food that was served was always plentiful and so tasty. Sue was always willing to take us on a hike and was very informative about the area. We made some very good friends on this trip. If you are considering a gulet cruise get in touch with Arkadaşlik Yachting and you won't be disappointed.

My wife and I were joined by two other couples, all very good friends, for a truly memorable trip on the gulet Arkadaslik along the Turkish coast, cruising east from Fethiye
The boat is beautiful, the food and drink were excellent and the Captain and crew were superb. We had owner Sue, Captain Oktay, Chef Ali and Sailor Burak who al made us feel very welcome right from the start. We became totally relaxed from the moment we stepped aboard.
The route planning by Captain Oktay was fantastic. He found us beautiful secluded bays which we had to ourselves for evenings and most of the mornings. We would have a leisurely breakfast, swim in crystal clear water and then raise anchor and depart just before the day boats arrived. On one occasion, Sue put up her drone and we duly obliged by doing a bit of synchronised swimming for the camera. Thank you Captain Oktay for such fabulous route planning.
Sue recommended the shore trips for us and came along with us on some of these. Although she says she is not an official tour guide, she does great job. Her knowledge of the ancient sites was invaluable because in many cases the information boards were not very informative. It was very comfortable walking around with Sue and the chat came easily as if we had been friends for many years. Thank you Sue for guiding us well and where to go, and sharing all your knowledge with us.
Ali, the chef served up wonderful meals each day which we all enjoyed to eat and to look at. His creativity in presenting the fruit plates in particular was amazing, and often photographed. Some of our party had special food requirements and these were dealt with expertly. Thank you Ali.
We enjoyed watching Burak the sailor when he was zipping around in the dinghy during the mooring process and he skilfully ferried us ashore and back in the dinghy several times. Thank you Burak.
The crew were quietly there all the time looking after our needs but without ever being intrusive. We were waited on hand and foot really, but so discreetly and unobtrusively.
We would definitely recommend a holiday on Arkadaslik. We have wonderful memories of the boat, the scenery, the swimming, the historical sites, the food, the laughter with our friends, and last but not least, Sue, Oktay, Ali and Burak.

We enjoyed the trip as much as you did! We think your brought the luck of the Irish for finding gorgeous, secluded spots for anchoring. And, that photo of you doing the synchronized swimming may well earn you a spot in the Olympics ;-)

We have just returned from a truly wonderful cruise aboard Arkadaslik. It lived up to every expectation most notably the warm hospitality of Sue, Captain Oktay, Sailor Murat and Chef Ozan, We were made to feel like their personal guests, the food never disappointed and was plentiful to say the least as were the many offers of drinks whatever you wanted. Along with the most stunning scenery of the Lycian Coast, Rhodes and Symi we had a perfect mix of beautiful blue water, gentle breezes (we were lucky with the weather this early in the season!) and adventures exploring on land in between. I don't think we have felt so relaxed after a trip as we did following this one not least because of the amount of laughter and easy conversation shared with both our wonderful fellow guests (strangers when we boarded but soon to become friends), Sue and Oktay. Until we can return we will 'dine out' on the fabulous photos Sue took throughout our trip and annotated on Arkadaslik's website. Don't hesitate to book - it will be a Blue Cruise like no other!

Hi Gillyb64,
Sorry for the delay in responding to your message. There seems to be a delay from the time something is posted on this page until we are alerted by Trip Advisor.
Glad to hear that you enjoyed your gulet holiday. We agree, nothing beats a relaxing cruise along the Turquoise Coast to help you relax and wind down from the rigours of everyday life!
We offer private cruises of any duration on a luxury-class gulet, and customize the routes accordingly. We can accommodate a maximum of 8 guests. Most of our itineraries start and end in Fethiye (Ferrite ;-)), but one-way trips can be arranged by special request.
Let me know if you have some specific dates or an itinerary in mind as our cruise schedule is filling quickly this year.
Warm regards,
Sue F.

We have been hearing about Turkey in the news and know that the media will often blow things out of proportion. We'd love to come to Turkey but are wondering, is it safe?? Thank you!
Written January 22, 2016

Thanks for your question - it's a common fear right now, especially for families who are considering whether to include a visit to Turkey in their holiday plans.
You’re right, the media has presented an unbalanced picture of the current situation – leading their audiences to believe that the entire country is under siege. While there are areas along the Syrian border that are extremely dangerous, the rest of the country is mostly untouched by the fighting. (For a more balanced perspective, please take a look in the "Travel Tips" section of our website for an article that specifically addresses your concern. (I'm sorry, but Trip Advisor policies prohibit me for providing a direct link.)
While no one can guarantee complete safety anywhere in the world, you may rest assured that the Turquoise Coast of Turkey remains a tranquil oasis for visitors.
Warmest regards,

Dear Sue,
Please would you advise? We are regular visitors to Fethiye as my wife's mother lives here. My wife, however, has grown tired of the 12 Island tours that are offered to tourists. However, I absolutely love boats and boating. We have a little girl who is almost three.
Are there any daily boat trips you run that the three of us could join? Do you do an alternative to the 12 islands (perhaps butterfly valley)?
Many thanks and kind regards,
Stephen Ottewell

Hi Stephen,
Thank you for your enquiry. A benefit of being a small company is that we’re able to offer custom itineraries for our guests. We try our best to be flexible and offer a variety of options for your consideration:
1. We could do a custom day-long itinerary (Fethiye - Butterfly Valley - Fethiye) which involves about 6 hours of cruising but would leave very little time for swimming. We don’t recommend this itinerary if there are strong winds, as the water gets quite rough near the opening to Butterfly Valley at mid-day, making for an unpleasant journey for anyone without strong “sea legs”.
2. If you can arrange land transport (e.g., car, taxi or minibus), we could meet you in Ölüdeniz at 8AM and take you to Butterfly Valley for breakfast, Gemiler Island for lunch, and return to Fethiye harbour around 6PM. (Because of the distance involved, we'd need to charge extra for diesel for this Day Trip itinerary.)
3. If you’ve got the flexibility to do an overnight trip, we could do a similar itinerary with an overnight stay at Gemiler Island to give you a more leisurely cruise of the area with plenty of time to swim and relax. We'd leave Fethiye on the first morning, spend the day at Gemiler Island, head to Butterfly Valley early in the morning for breakfast (and swimming and hiking if desired), turn back to the Ölüdeniz area for lunch, and return to Fethiye harbour around 6PM.
We can take a maximum of 8 passengers on any of these trips, so you are welcome to invite your mother-in-law and other friends / family to join you. Please let me know if any of these options appeals to you.
You are welcome to contact me directly to further discuss the possibilities. (I apologize, but Trip Advisor prohibits me from posting my contact information in this reply. However, my phone number and a link to my e-mail address are provided on Arkadaslik Yachting's Trip Advisor page.)
Warmest regards,

Hello, and thank you for your inquiry.
We believe it is important for our guests to know their travelling companions in advance of their time on the boat. This minimizes the chance of incompatibility that can arise when cruising with strangers. And, by offering private charters only, we are able to accept children of all ages - making us a perfect choice for families.
We'd be happy to develop a customized itinerary if you and your travelling companion would like to join us for a private day at sea. Let me know.
Warmest regards,

Hello - Do you have any suggestions for pairing a charter cruise with hiking part of the Lycian Way?
Written March 25, 2015
A Tripadvisor member
Fethiye, Türkiye
Great question! If you’re physically fit and enjoy spectacular scenery, hiking parts of the Lycian Way will provide you with vacation memories for a lifetime!
An adventure tour provides you with the opportunity to explore the rugged Turkish coastline while also enjoying all the amenities of a floating boutique hotel with your own private chef. You can start the day with Turkish Breakfast onboard the boat, then we’ll shuttle you to the starting point of your day’s hike (or bike, or climb, or jeep safari, or other land excursion). Our chef will even prepare a packed lunch, snacks and bottled water so you don’t need to worry about meals during your trek. At the end of the day, we’ll collect you at a pre-determined meeting point and return you to the boat so you can enjoy a relaxing evening and fabulous dinner on board.
We’d be happy to introduce you to a qualified, professional guide to help plan your group’s specific itinerary and safely lead you on your adventure. Please let us know how we can help customize your dream vacation.
Warmest regards,

Is there fishing tackle on the boat or for sale in Fethiye? Every time my boys get near water they want to catch fish?

Hi Kevin,
Thanks for your question.
Yes, we have few hand line fishing reels on board, and we've also got snorkelling masks and fins in case the boys want to try out the spear gun.
A wide range of fishing gear can also be purchased at many shops near the harbour. One of our passengers bought a spear gun last year. He had great success with it, but left it behind to avoid potential issues packing it in his carry-on luggage.
Let me know if you need more info. We're here to help you have a great vacation!

Hello!
Gulet vacations with Arkadaslik Yachting are family-friendly and children are welcome on board. To ensure their safety, we require children to be supervised by at least one responsible adult at all times. (The crew are usually busy with their assigned duties, and are not at liberty to offer child care services.)
Thank you for your question. Please let us know if there's any other way we can provide assistance.
